Aesthetics Littlefee faceup

May 17, 2020

    1. Its been 3 years since I've done a facup on my own dolls. I was nervous because I really liked her old faceup, it was bright and spring like. But her character is a child so I wanted to do something a bit more natural.

    2. @Unseenstars233 Your image codes need to end in jpg, gif or png which they do not. Likely you're not grabbing the right URL to plug in.

Quoting @kcurry9 from a recent post:

"How to post a PHOTO URL from Flickr
      1. Click a photo to open it.
      2. Click the Download icon.
      3. Click View all sizes.
      4. Click on the size you want to see.
      5. Right-click the image.
      6. Select Copy Image Location or Copy Image URL (text may vary per browser).
      7. On DoA, click on the photo icon in the top line of the post box (the one after the smiley face).
      8. Paste the photo URL, making sure it ends with a photo extension (.jpg, .jpeg, etc)
      9. Click Insert"

    3. Thank you! I'm on my phone so the correct link was difficult to find.

    4. The eyebrow detail is soo good along with the lip detail. Flow of the eyebrow hairs is realistic and looks polished. However I do think for a child character, the lower lashes are far too dark (from a distance it will read like dark eyeshadow, which I suspect isn't your intension) but otherwise, you really nailed the brush work!

    5. Thank you! I've been working really hard to improve my brush work lately, I'm glad its paying off! And now that you mention it agree that her lashes look really dark and heavy on her face. I probably shouldn't have added the pastel on top this time. I wonder if some upper lashes would help balance it out? I'll have to find a good pair to try.

    6. You could surely try. Maybe light brown or even blonde lashes may help reduce the intensity of the darker pigment? And having a mirror in a distance also helps you see if it reads like you intend to from a distance or not. Most people probably wont do this, but I think it helps you "not lose the plot" so to speak.
