This is my boy Zac. He's also borrowing a body for this photo - I ordered a Fdoll body a couple of days ago so I'm hoping that'll work for him.
Can't wait to see other Mini Kamus! Also looking forward to future mini sculpts!

Hi! I just saw this thread, so I thought I’d introduce my boy Ashe. He’s a Tan Mini-Kamu with a faceup by Little Rebel and he’s on a Brown Luts Model Delf Body dyed to be a closer match. I still need to find a wig for him, hopefully that’ll happen sooner rather than later.
I’m really excited to see everyone’s Mini-Kamus!

Oh! Stumbled on this looking for model delf bodies for my own mini Kamu heads! I have a tan and a normal, and was seriously considering the model delf body for my tan but haven't decided on a male or female body yet. How do you find the proportions? And is your body new or secondhand (asking for resin matching I'm considering biting the bullet and ordering a new body)?

Side note, the match littlerebel normal to doll leaves normal is decent and the head looks good on a doll leaves female body. Here's a bad cell phone photo (tried to throw the arm up to give a better idea of color matching and she just looks dorky lol)

I got the body secondhand but he is quiet new, being cast in 2018. The proportions are quite nice and the head fits pretty much perfectly on the neck.
The only thing I can say is the resin match for the tan isn’t the best but doing a quick dye job helps it out immensely. I used Rit liquid dye in petal pink to cancel out the strong olive tone the Luts body had.

Lovely Thank you!! I was at a doll meet yesterday and a Iplehouse doll there in a one of their tans (the owner said not the dark tan but a lighter version of it, maybe their special real skin?) seemed to match closely-ish as well. But their JID's neck is 8.5cm which I worry would be too large and they don't really sell bodies separate. I'm still tossing back and forth ideas and stalking the marketplace for something but it's nice to see that the Luts body can work with a smidge of dye. My fairyland tan body doesn't quite match either and I think her neck is even smeller. I keep meaning to take the heads and put them on all my MSD bodies for a comparison but it's always busy here it seems! lol

 

I can't say Iplehouse's Special Real Skin is the best match, but I'm sure it's possible to work around. Here's how the head looks on the old girl JID body (neck 7.3). I think the proportions look pretty good.

Out of curiosity I tested out the head on a body with a 8.5cm neck. Please don’t do it. It’s a Not-Very-Good-Idea™
Well, not unless a lot of sanding.

 

That must have been the skin she had, it looked very close to that, but her doll was older so perhaps a different batch. Most things are workable with blushing or clothing lol Well, many things maybe. And if you're willing to dye a normal skin or white skin doll and have the means to do so and make it match the sky's the limits!

 

I've thrown the head on a few bodies I had and put them up on Instagram, @jennifer.cambell.lpc (Jennifer Campbell (@jennifer.campbell.lpc) • Instagram photos and videos) . So far I've done doll leaves (best resin match thus far), souldoll (my least favorite body, she's so kicky I need to suede her), impldoll (btw it's a beautiful body), and loongsoul (another gorgeous body but mine's a centaur). If there's any company that I may have I'd be happy to do more (and may still even without requests). They're all on my cell phone with indoor lighting but I try to describe the resin differences in my text. I have Minifees I can throw it on, but they all have the neck connector which makes it a daunting task. I'll restring a doll any day, but fussing with those neck connectors makes me cringe.. lol I can also throw up better/more pictures of anything if you ask--they'll likely be cell pictures because lugging out the DSLR is a pain but at least it would give better proportion visuals for anyone who wants them. some of the normal skin dolls may just need a slight dip in dye or a slight face blushing to match.

 

Can anyone tell me if Impledoll is a good colour match for LR? Tia

 

I don’t own any tan Impldolls, only dark tan but I know that they do resin colour matching. So if you like the body you can get it matched to the head.

 

I think I just picked up the last Kamu head on pre-order! Now I have 3 months to find a body! Thanks for posting photos
xyuemoto! Does anyone else have a mini Kamu? I have a Little Rebel Hachi, and I love him, so I'm excited to be getting another LR!

 

wrenbe I pre-ordered a Kamu head, and was looking at a Doll Leaves body, but the neck is 6.5cm and LR recommends a 7.1 to 7.5cm neck. How did the DL neck look with your Kamu head?

 

I have a video and some pictures up on Instagram of the head on my doll leaves body. I thought it was a decent matched and found a doll leave body cheap on the second hand market so threw my NS head on it. Still looking for a Luts body cheap for the tan head. I'll try to throw the link to the video up here, if it doesn't work (or ends up violating some rule I'm not easily aware of) search Instagram for @jennifer.campbell.lpc thats my user name there. I have a few different photos and videos of trying the head on bodies.

Thanks for posting this!!! That looks great to me! I'm going to go ahead and order one, with a head since it's cheap. I'll have a full doll to let hang out and the body will be ready when the LR head arrives!

 

Yes, with COVID-19 I'll probably delay this a bit lol Packages are going to be delayed and getting lost so It's easy enough to wait on the body--unless of course I see a good price on a second hand body pop up in the USA.

Well, I was getting antsy and saw the DF-H sale so was considering a body from them for my tan mini Kamu, but then personal issues always occur (not COVID19 related). And since I was just a click away from getting that body I decided to check out Fantasy Doll in the special 17 color. The price was (of course) cheaper than the DF-H body or the Luts body even during sales so I bit the bullet and ordered a body from Fantasy Doll. Now I've learned the original personal stuff is okay again (new personal stuff of course reared it's head but it's at least has a lesser impact on my doll splurging) and I'm still regretting not getting a DF-H body for my Kamu so I may just go buy a DF-H full doll and swap bodies if when I see the heads/bodies in person I really have a strong leaning. I've been wanting to increase my number of tanned and darker colored dolls anyways. Just gotta go browse pictures and determine a sculpt. I believe I am a hopeless doll hoarder. Off to stalk the DF-H threads here lol

So yeah, in a few months (or more) I'll have a Fantasy Doll body to show on the mini Kamu head and we'll see how that looks (I don't think I've seen any, at least not in tan). I'll throw the pics on Instagram and try to remember to come here and link them. Also, now that I'm typing I'm wondering if I tried the head on my Legrand tan body.. that would be interesting, a plus sized female mini Kamu..

 

I’m excited to hear about your Fantasy Doll body! I was considering that as an option as well for my tan Kamu. Right now my collection is only tan resin dolls, including a Doll Family H Qing Lang, so I was going to try him out with a couple to see the match. I’m also considering getting a full doll from Doll Legend in tan. So I might have more colour matches to try out!

 

@Kiki Happy @xyuemoto it really is fun to try to match the tans up, I'm a sucker for resin colors (personal goal is to have at least one doll from each BJD company which is huge but my dream goal is to have a doll from each company in each resin tone). I will put a post it on my head with reminder to post pictures when I get the Fantasy Doll body. I am still debating sculpts with DF-H, and we all know until you pull the trigger plans can change (heck they even change after you pull the trigger!). Little Rebel's site shows the DF-H as being a smidge off from the head, but batches can always vary so you may get lucky and have a good match or something a bit of blushing can help transition. I'm also getting antsy for face ups and told myself I wouldn't get a faceup on my blank heads until I had bodies for them so... hence the push to get some bodies in my collection that can at least work for now.

 

Can anyone who has a Mini Kamu tell me what size wig is best? 6/7 or 7/8?

My Mini Kamu head left the "Registry Office" 10 days ago and shows no movement since. Shipping is taking longer these days no doubt, but aghhhhhhh!!! Is anyone else waiting for their head to arrive?

 

I got my mini-Kamu!! He’s beautiful and a pretty good match for the DF-H tan. I’ll try to post a picture on here but I’ll need to finally plug in my laptop for that. I have a picture of him in my Instagram story (insta: ahappycollection).

I also tried him on my MYou doll ver.2 girl body, she’s in tan so not a good match but it was still cute. Their coffee resin is supposed to be a good match.

I tried my Impldoll body as well even though he’s in dark tan to see how the proportions look but I didn’t like it. His head is a bit too big for that body. Shoulders were a bit too narrow. I’ll post a picture too. It’s a nice body (though not a good sitter) and they offer colour matching.

Then I wanted to try my Resinsoul Tang body but the S-hook was WAY too big, so he’d have to be restrung and I’m not experienced enough for that lol! I think it is a match that’ll work though proportion wise since the Resinsoul heads are large and they have broad shoulders. They also do resin matching.

 

I actually just popped in to ask the same thing. My head shipped May 31st and hasn't moved since.

 

Mine was shipped the same day and I got it yesterday but the tracking never updated. Even today it still says in-transit. Hopefully it’s just in your country’s customs and will be released soon.

 

Oh, wow. Yeah, hopefully he makes it home soon. I wouldn't be so worried except two other orders have shipped, updated, and either been delivered or the slip for them has been delivered, all since this one shipped. So I know it's not USPS proper holding it up. It must be customs.

 

I still have no info, not trackable and am waiting patiently. Sort of. Congrats on your arrival Kiki Happy! I'll hope for my head to show up soon!

 

My mini Kamu head finally appeared on my doorstep yesterday tracking never updated.

He is sooo gorgeous! I'm currently trying him on different bodies for size/ fit before trying to worry about resin match (He's tan). So far, Iplehouse JID is too thick a neck and Withdoll makes him look like a bobblehead. I want to try a model delf body but I don't have one of those to test with.

My head arrived yesterday, but I stayed at my studio last night so didn't find it until today. Tracking still hasn't updated, so the method of shipping did not allow for USPS to track it once it arrived to the US.
I bought a Doll Leaves NS boy body to go with my NS head, and the match is pretty darn good. The neck and scale is good also, but I really don't like the Doll Leaves forearms, they are just...off. I can live with it though and will post a pic tomorrow if anyone is interested!

 

I just got mine, too! I'm so excited. here's a picture of him on the Luts Model Delf Slender body. He's a good fit, imo. Maybe the tiniest bit bobble headed, but I don't think you'd notice with clothes on. This is the slimmest of the three bodies.
