There're many great face-up tutorials on DOA but I'd like to share my technique(?) and experience by the way, just simple and basic. X3 This is an experience-based tutorial and I'm not that so professional. Hope it helps anyway! The file was originally intended to upload to DA, so the output will be very large but hope this is okay. ^_^ Anyway, this is not all every technique I'd like to share. There's another 2 pieces I have to add. One is 'Other Techniques' (Solving MSC white coat & Tracing old face features) and another one is 'Tools & Materials Precaution'. These two will be added later to this thread. Please do not hesitate to leave me your question in the comment if you have. I will be welcome to reply if I could. ^_^ *** : CAUTION : *** Please note in the first place that you should PROTECT YOURSELVES from using all mediums, especially for ones having problem(s) with Respiratory system, Hormone system, or other sensitive diseases, as many mediums involved in face-up progress HARMS, from dust allergy to chemical absorption. (Fully wearing protection equipments makes you looking similar to Darth Vader, Gundum Pilot, WW soldiers in the battle of toxic gas but those equipments help saving your life and the rest.) *** *** : SPRAYING & THINNER CAUTION : *** *Spraying any aerosol spray and using thinner MUST BE USED IN EXCELLENT VENTILATION AREA. *Most aerosol spray, including MSC, will keep on releasing its volatile component for at least 24 hours after applying. I recommend not to bring sprayed piece(s) into closed ventilation space where you're going to spend a period in (including air-con room) within 24 hours or longer after spraying, upon the weather condition. It dried, but not yet stop releasing the volatile. *As above, doing face-up in closed space (like air-con room or too small window room) is strongly not recommended. *Avoid touching any chemical medium directly. *** PS. 'For more angle of completed face-up, please visit the gallery', that refers to my gallery on DA.
That's a really really REALLY great tutorial. Very clear, detailed and easy to follow. And your technique is simply awesome.
Always wonderful to see how other people do their faceups and this tutorial is very well laid out, simple to understand and looks very professional!! Beautifully done faceup!!
This is a great tutorial! There are a lot of tips in there that I bet a lot of people don't think of, and I wish had been pointed out to me when I started, LOL. Great job!!
Wow! I've never done a face-up before, and haven't looked at many tutorials yet, but this was SO easy to understand! Great job!
amaizing tutorial, thank you so much for sharing I thing this will help a lot of people with their bjdface-ups.
WOW!!! This is so really helpful - it's the first tutorial I've found that explains lip lines clearly, and your pictures are as good as your descriptions! Thanks so much for posting this! Can't wait to get my supplies out & try these techniques!
Great job! Can you tell us what size brushes do you use? I bought some tiny ones but find they are still too big.
This is awesome!! Now I really have to get my room cleaned up so I can start * 3* Funny how all of a sudden, after almost 2 years in the hobby I never heard about half of what you are talking about xD
Thank you for giving me that little extra courage to attempt my first face up. Excellent work on your tutorial!
Well done, cifr (Pats). I thought it was professionally done--easily understood, provided good tips and the photos were large and clear. I thought his eyes were nicely done, looked natural which is befitting for a male bjd. I was also impressed with the precautions that you included in the beginning of the tutorial as some of the materials, if not used properly, can be bad for your health and may aggravate a present health condition if not handled carefully. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills. I really do appreciate it.
Sorry for a late reply~ >< Thank you to everyone and your comments. I am really glad this tutorial helps you guys and encourages you to try! Please do not hesitate to paint your dollies by yourself, as long as the materials used in the face-up has been carefully studied that they are usable and removable for our resin crew, it is more than worth to try.
wonderful tutorial, and so simple to follow even I could understand what was goin on XD and lovely faceup to use as an example :3
As soon as I get the supplies, this is gonna help me do my first face-up. Nervous Jams is nervous, but this might just help. Thanks.
Thank you for this great tutorial!! I already saved it and will definitely use it when I try my first "real" face-up
Thank you so much. I've been debating on whether to get my BJD blank or with face-up. Since seeing this I think I will wait a bit before doing it on my own. I need to get my skills up a bit more before I venture into this. But I will be looking at this when I do. It will help me greatly. Thank you again.
Thank you. This is excellent and very kind of you to create. {You might even save someone's health with the careful warnings about the chemical exposure.}
i really love it the shadows on the eyes are so beautiful that his eyes looks intense . Bravo , you did a real good job
