I bought today a little bottle of gloss. It doesen't say "acrylic" but it says "Gloss Varnish: water-based" I don't have in my country the same named stuff that you guys talk about, this was quite hard to find. even the painting specialiced shop didn't have this. anyway, is this the same stuff you guys are talking about? can I safely use it??
I use Citadel 'Ardcoat, mainly because I play Warhammer anyway. It works well IMO, I need to put another coat on her nails, though.
Thanks for the info but one small thing... I use sculpey gloss on polymer clay that I bake and I never bake it with the glaze on. I put it on and let it air dry after I have already baked the clay. I have never read anywhere that said you had to bake the glaze. I will look for the other stuff later though ^^ I got some citadel 'ardcoat for now.
Tamiya acrylics - little glass tubs; I tend to use either Clear (good for gloss), semi-gloss (good for a little shine, but not lip gloss slick; I like it for my male dolls) and various selections of their clear colours such as smoke, clear blue etc. Love this range, only need I coat for most applications and can thin the paint substantially if you want to
