    2. OH MY GOD!!

Oh finally, finally a dolls event in Europe!! Honestly, the Europeans have been always wondering why we never had any attempts of Dolpas or even a sumika open in this side of the Ocean... I am so glad to see Luts decided to take over the old continent! I will be supporting them in every step that it's taken in this direction. This is so awesome!!

Just missing a little date in London in the schedule, but I can't wait to attend Barcelona. I will be there for sure! This is so exciting!!!:D:D:D

    3. This is amazing! Thank you, Luts, for comming to Europe~
I just can't wait to see what you'll do, I will attend for sure to Barcelona :D

    4. Oh this is so great! I'd love to go - and Vienna isn't too far from me, either :D

Is it really on Tuesday? I may not be able to leave my job on a weekday :( But I'll try everything!

    5. Awh. If only there was a London date. I can't afford to go to the Italy and Spain dates. Though I really would love to. I hope everyone that goes has a wonderful time. I also hope that this is the first of many European doll events.

    6. I'm confused. Do we have to own a luts doll to attend? I'd like to come but, I don't actually own a luts brand doll (not yet anyway!).

    7. Sillypeach: You have to own Luts dolls, it's what being stated in the form application. Plus, Deviantart, Flickr and blog URLs are required. =)

I can't wait to attend the event in Rome. I live there, and it's a wonderful surprise, totally unexpected. Now I am wondering about the location, which place you are going to choose? I know, the details will be revealed in the next days, but I am just too curious and excited. We never had an International event in Rome, I am really happy!
Of course, in case I am one among the ones who will take part to the event, I will bring my Abadon, Wintery 09 and Moon as well. Do you have any ideas about the theme of the Tea party? I will dress the dolls accordingly, just in case ;)

    8. http://twitter.com/#!/lutsOfficial

"@LutsOfficial and what If I have a Luts head on a different body?

LutsOfficial: I am so sorry, but we limited the qualification of entry as 'Luts Delf (doll) owner' ^^; Thank you for your attention! <3"

    9. I have another question: when taking part to the event, even the clothes and the accessories the Luts doll is wearing should be LUTS made? Just asking =)

    10. That's a bit of a shame.Even if I don't own a luts dolls, I've been quite a big customer of luts in the past for clothes and wigs, and probably purchased the equivalent of a mini from them. There's some Delf's i'm rather partial to, and who i'd love to own eventually, but it's a case of really, too many dolls, too little money.

I can undertstand if they don't want non-luts dolls at the event, but I think we should be allowed to attend if we don't bring them with us. I am bit disppointed that they decided to make this desicsion.

    11. ACRGGG!!!! why why eourpe only! come to the USA!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!
i like the fact they are doing something though since luts is the frist company i bought from and got my frist doll from!

    12. this is so exciting us EU citizens get it hard dolly wise so this is such a great thing to do! Dont think i can afford any of those cities though PLEASE MAKE A UK ONE then I can go!!!

    13. Finally an european event! I have a Luts doll, a limited mnf Shushu elf. Nowadays is FL, but the elf version is only Luts brand... So little Shushila will attend, if she is lucky :) Rome, but also Vienna is very near.

    14. This is a wonderful news¡¡¡¡
Thanks a lot Luts for this great oportunity in Europe
I sent the form today , I wait with ilusion the 8th JULY for the notified

    15. I'm really glad Luts chose Europe, and picking also Rome (the city I live in)... wow, was a huge surprise for me!
I hope they'll have a great time with us european owners, and that this will be the 1st of many other events - we deserve much love and Luts is giving us a good chance for enjoying our hobby even more ;D
      Many thanks Luts**

I've sent my form yesterday and I hope I will join everyone for the tea party in Rome on september the 10th!

    16. If this were a Volks teaparty, no one would ask such a thing.
This is a LUTS teaparty, so I think it's completely understandable that LUTS doll owners are invited.

    17. Well with Volks you just can't bring any other companies dolls, but you can still show up even if you don't own a Volks doll, as far as I know. I'm not judging LUTS decision, just clarifying something

As it is it's nice that LUTS is having an event like this, hopefully more companies might try as well.

    18. I am a Luts Delf (doll) owner of seven Delfs, and a Senior Delf, among my 12 BJD so I am really pleased and happy with this event. I am wishing to attend Luts Tea Party in Barcelona (Spain) so I sent the form yesterday late at night. I hope I am lucky. I would love to be there.

    19. It IS about time a doll company took an interest in Europe! I hope all the events go well! Maybe more companies will follow suit! And maybe next year they will come to the U.S. :)

    20. That would be nice if they did. I don't own any LUTS dolls, but I'm sure it would make a great many people happy. And hopfully get other companies to follow suit.

    21. I think this event is based on "thank you for having chosen Luts" assumption.
So, if you have purchased and you own Luts dolls, you are going to take part to the event. I believe they have chosen the locations and the rules according to what suits better for a photo session. If you try to download the forms, you will notice that they do not only ask you name and user account identity, but they are also interested in what you have done with their dolls. Blog, Flickr and DA URLs are required.
So, I think it's halfway between a meeting and a Luts doll exhibition. In order to take pictures, you need to carry your LUTS dolls.
That's what I guess by reading the event notice. =) Just my opinion.

    22. Finally a doll company decided to make an event in Europe, I'm so happy!
I've sent the form today, I wish I can get chance to go to the event :)

    23. I hope they decide to do this in the US! I have a TON of Luts dolls, 27 in fact, but with my luck, it'd take place that's so far away like NY or LA.

    24. I had a fullset Luts Lio at one point, but since sold it. But I'm a bit confused. So you have to have blog, Flicker, and DA urls, too? What if you only used DA? I think it's a bit much to ask that on top of having a doll, you have to have tons of pictures of it all over the place as well.

I've been in this hobby for quite some time, and I just rarely, if ever, take photos. I'm sure they won't disqualify you for not having photos up...?

    25. Could this be a sign that companies are taking note and expanding their events/horizons? I was quite surprised and thrilled to see a Europe event, even if I can't attend (Can't really afford to go and don't own any Luts dolls lol). Let's hope they go one step further and do a UK thing, or even a US thing for you US fans.

    26. I send my form yesterday, i hope i been choosen for go to the tea party in Barcelona.

    27. I think Luts is asking for pictures in order to confirm we really have luts dolls, this event is really exclusive so they have to be sure to choose people by checking everything they can!
in my opinion this is a sort of test to see how many owners all over the world are interested in Luts events, so hopefully, if the result of this event will be good, in the near future there will be more of them (in Europe and also in USA).
I wonder if they are searching for european dealerships too... it would be great to have real Luts shops in our cities, just like Volks in LA!
I organize bjd expositions in Rome with my friends and when people (mostly ladies who aren't accustomed to use internet) ask us about a place to buy bjd dolls or for a sort of showroom to go and see them, they're always disappointed to know they only can purchase them on the net =/

    28. Hmmm.... Well That seems a bit eletist.

I have a Luts doll (and a couple of hybrids) whihc seems a reasonable requirement for a Luts event, but I don't have any of those other things and don't see why they're required for attending a doll event.

And why would they just assume that peoplewho have their dolls would have any reason to use Flickr, deviantart or have a blog...?

If they want proof of ownership surely they can ask for it instead of insisiting people sign up for stuff they might never use again. See my icon picture? - My Luts Chiwoo. I have pictures I could privide if needed, I don't want to have to sign up for Flickr and a bunch of other stuff and I think it's extremely unreasonable of them to expect that.

EDITED TO ADD: Having now seen and filled in the form - it doesn't say those things are mandatory, it just asks for them if you have them and has space for alternatives.

      Teddy

    29. If they're just looking for proof that you own a Luts doll would other picture albums work? I'm thinking of Photobucket and Picasa-type accounts.

Also, do Fairyland dolls count? Technically they're not part of Luts any more, even though their dolls are based off the original CP designs.

I'm not in Europe, but I would love to see something like this come to the US!

    30. I assume so - it didn't say anything on the form about them being mandatory, so I assume you list them if you have them and put alternatives where it says "etc" That's what I've done.

      Teddy

    31. I asked for my limited Shushu elf, produced by luts, and she's allowed because it's sure that she is LUTS. I asked FL if they plan to recast a shushu elf and they said NO ---> no doubt that shushu elf is LUTS :)
I hope to know other DoA people. I've asked for rome but I am near also to Vienna. :)

    32. as Nya said I think you should be ok as long as you bought your doll from Luts site, even if it's a minifee^^

    33. I think they will be taking pictures of our dolls, so they are asking for every photo storage account you have (Picasa and Photobucket as well, like Deviantart and Flickr) to know more about you and your dolls.
In my opinion, there isn't any elitarism in this. It's more about why they have to choose you for this party, and blogs and photo albums will help because it's really difficult to figure it out by merely reading a written form.
It's like getting in touch on the web. Your pictures and interests will speak for yourself, because there is a selection going on.
They are receiving many forms from different places in the world, it may be unfair, but it's the fastest and the best way.

    34. It does, however, rather assume and/or give the impressing that they're only interestd in attendees who ar very active online. That seems eletist to me.

      Teddy

    35. 1. You need to at least be somewhat active online to even see the notice and/or talk to people about what it entails.
      2. You need to at least be somewhat active online to fill out the form. (In other words, they aren't going to snail-mail invites to everybody.)
      3. They need some kind of proof that you own a Luts doll. The easiest proof they can ask for is pictures. Order numbers won't work; you might have sold the doll. And again, the easiest way to prove (via pictures) that you have a doll is to post those pictures online.

    36. Well, obviously - but they still seem to requiring more than just "somewhat active".

      Teddy

    37. Actually, who said that you have to provide even one link to that list? I'm pretty sure that you can just write on the form that "sorry don't have any of those" and to the "etc." category take a picture and upload on photobucket just for the occasion. And that requires no more "activity" than finding out about the Tea Party and applying ;) And I'm sure that they even accept one's DoA account as proof. I know this from experience - I had to prove to them that I'm a legitimate faceup artist (long story), but since my shop and portfolio is here, I could only give them DoA links. They accepted them without any problem.

First I thought that this will be a convention-like thing where everyone who applies can attend. I'm a bit sad about the lottery...but I've never been to any Tea Parties, so I guess this needs a bit more intimacy. I'll be applying right away and hope for the best - I'm really curious :)

    38. Somebody on this thread

I pointed out that none ofthem seemed to be a mandatory requirement, once I had a chance to read the form.

      Teddy

    39. I haven't said it's mandatory to write links, or you won't have the chance to attend the Tea Party. I think there is some misunderstanding going on, they are just asking for any URL of blog and picture you can provide to see if you own the dolls and what are you interested in. There is a reason if they are asking for that, maybe it's ok if none is provided, but I don't know how this will affect the selection. In the form it's stated *Deviantart, or other photo site*. It think it says it all. Just write the URLs you share pictures and the places where you sometimes blog, and it's ok.
I have Flickr, DA, Facebook and Tumblr. So I linked these - anyone is free to add URLs of any kind. I have just mentioned some among the most popular. ^^'
I added even my personal website, there is no rule about your internet activity, the places where you share contents and so on. It's going far beyond my words, and if you have any doubt about what to link, please write Luts. ;) I did, and they were really kind to answer me promptly.

Hope it's clear, now. I tried to explain with the best of my ability, the rest is to blame to my language skills, then. Sorry about that.

    40. i have a little question...no where on the form does it let you state which city you want to attend, after the lottery will they let you chose which event you would like to go to? as one location is much cheaper for me to get to from the uk than the others.

    41. Tell them in the email you attach the form to.

I didn't and they had to email me to ask.

      Teddy

    42. The-happiestprincess: I have included the preferred location of the Tea Party in the title of the email, and it was ok. They also notified me an error in the attached file, so I was asked to send it again. Don't worry, Luts Dep is checking everything carefully, and they will contact you immediately if needed. :) They are assisting us in any case, even if something goes wrong.

    43. I told them about it in the title of the e-mail I sent my entry form with and it seems it works. They did not asked me about it when they answered back.

    44. thanks everyone!!! i sent of a 2nd email stating a preferred location so hopefully they see it!

    45. D-1 until we close collecting 'LUTS Tea Party in Europe' entry. Competition for Spain is the most harsh! Italy and Austria is also hot - it would be the most difficult time to see a lot of people who were chosen and not chosen.

    46. Our meeting would be in the afternoon (around 1~5 p.m) in Spain & Italy.
However, in Austria, it would be 'so late afternoon tea'. Considering 6th Sep is weekday, we would set meeting time as late hours (4~8 p.m.). They are not specific yet, all the time can be changed with advanced notice.

    47. our staff who will run Luts tea party is learning Spanish, Italian and German greetings. There are so many different pronounciaton such as 'rr' or 'cht', it makes her poor.

    48. This is awesome; somebody finally noticed there is Europe. :thumbup
No honestly, I always wondered why there is hardly any attention to Europe.

Vienna, Rome, and Barcelona are nice places, although I’m a bit surprises that there isn’t any place in England. Mostly because it would be the easiest place due to using English.

I hope the events will go well and more to come to Europe in future.
Maybe next year I will be able to join.

 Don't worry, people in Europe are friendly and will be happy that you try their language.

    49. :(Shees! Finally an event in Europe I could join but I don´t have a Luts doll..
They shouldn´t be so harsh about this, especialy in Vienna. I doupt there are going to be more than 5 maybe 10 people coming. There aren´t all that many doll owners in middle Europe and the chances of them having a Luts delf doll is quite low..
We have to do our own big meetup somewhere in central Europe someday, with everyone invited!

    50. I hope there will be pictures and videos :) I sadly don´t own any luts but it´s awesome to see that there is finally something in europe :D

    51. I hope it too!

    52. We closed applications yesterday!
We would like to thank those of you who have supported us!

    53. the members list is out on Facebook^^

    54. Well, I suppose that's nice for the people who are on Facebook. Not much use to those of us who aren't, however.

      Teddy

    55. I think you would be surprised how many doll collectors there are in any given location though, people don't always socialise or join Den of Angels- i live in a small town and i know there are a lot of BJD owners around here because i see them post (very infrequently) some are just shy! Also I'm prepared to travel anywhere funds allow, i'd be happy to travel to Vienna if i met the criteria and a lot of people are the same, i know loads of people who travel from here to Germany for Steiff teddy events.

    56. Even though you don't have Facebook account, you can see their Facebook postings! (as I do usually)
Anyway, I agree it is not normal way to announce something though.

    57. Seems like even their Twitter account is public, because I can see the status without being subscribed. Anyway, it shows the same link that can be found on Facebook.
