He is beautiful, although I was hoping for a dreaming
face-plate -- I said he doesn't look much like original-Mano,
but now looking back, that might just be the face-up, or the
eyes/wig combo. I hope to see some close-ups of the ears,
and also that he's available as an optional piece, for those of us
who already own an original-Mano.

I think he looks like a Mano! Are his features different? He looks pretty normal, just wearing long flowy hair & gauzy clothes (and a very radiant faceup). What a beauty he'll be.

But I would sure like to see those elf ears. ^^

 

I think he looks much more feminish than Mano

 

I think his lips are definitely 'different,'
the lower one doesn't have the 'typical' Limhwa'
deep crease in the center, and the upper seems
a bit 'thicker.' This again, could be just the face-up,
but the eye-shape and lower lip are different, IMHO.

I hope we can see his ears soon either way, and
also hope this one will come with new hands (I
am obsessed with Mano's hands, I need more
in different poses!). ^___^

Vanilla, I don't know if he's more feminine than non-elf Mano,
it could be the face-up color-palette. I believe all of
Limhwa's sculpts have a level of realistic-androgyny.
Maybe that's why I love Mano so much because he
is kind of feminine, but not too much like other BJD
sculpts --but then again my parents think all my dolls are way
too feminine, yes even my "overly-masculine" Hombre is
'feminine' to their non-bjd-spoiled eyes. XD

Enzyme, the same here... when I show photos of boys I bought, at first everybody think they are girls, or ask me - is it a girl? Oh, boy... I just thought this is girl without boobs

 

His eyes look a bit different to me as well, a bit more up-turned perhaps? More playful..?
But, ah! The Limhwa sculpts can be so versitile, it's hard to tell from that one, (very beautiful), pic.
I can't wait to see more of him-whee!

 

Catrina, You´re killing me!!!!!! I always thought I am safe not to like Mano. Didn´t like his lips and facial expression. But something in this Elf face is different, softer. And now I´m lost.

Here is what I know about timing (I don't have the official translation yet... )
Limhwa is shipping the last order this coming weekend. And then she's going to take lots of photos of him. She didn't put Mano in his name.. just Limho Elf. So he's a full elf (not half elf) and she is not using the Mano name so far.

His eyes and mouth seem quite different to me than Mano. He's got a really sensitive face I think. I really love what I see so far.

I concur, I hate to say it, but when I was scrolling the page down and had only gotten as far down as his face and hair, I thought it was a woman with a strong brow (kind of like some of Soom's big girls). Whoooops! Unfortunately, until I see one in person, I'm still firmly in the camp of love the body of the Mano, but I was soooooo disappointed with the face. Sigh. Just too *pretty*!

 

So this elf could be a totally different concept than Mano?
That would make sense, they do seem very different, and
that gives me some hope that the artist might release
a dreaming-elf version of Mano. XD I must have dreaming vampire
versions of all my resin-kids, Limhwa might not make
vampires, but she does sculpt elf-ears very nicely -- I can at least
pretend a Mano with elf-ears is a vampire, by just painting fangs. ^.^;;

This elf is gorgoeus, even if he is not the elf-Mano I was looking
forward to brining home. ^.^'

Very cool! I see many subtle differences in the new facial sculpt to Mano's ~ the nose and lips are definitely different, eye shape too, and the face shape appears to be a little longer and more angled. Looking forward to seeing lots more pics, especially of his elf ears!!!!

Catrina, I hope You don´t mind posting this modded pic. Just wanted to show, that he is not that feminin without those long hair. *need him, need him* (just sold a doll body to save money for him)

 

Kind of a silly question, are Limhwa's elf versions limited? Or can you just order them anytime there's an ordering period?

 

He is beautiful- but I must admit that I also think he looks feminine, there is something about his eyes and lips, and his facial expression. But maybe he would look more masculine with different eyes, lashes, faceup etc? I don't think the hair length has anything to do with it, in my opinion long hair is not feminine, and all guys should have it

 

Here is a little comparison I made with Limho Mano on the left
(he is expertly customized by Cristy Stone from X-Treme Dolls)
and Limho Elf on the right.
Legolas from Lord of the Rings is below... I feel he is very elf-like with
more refined features. If you look at the Limho Elf face, the facial shape is
different, as is the mouth, eyes and nose. Limhwa will send me more pictures
in the next week, after she's shipped the last order. She's not happy with this one
picture, but wanted to show what was on the way.

 

Oh, man. I did not need to see this right now. I must have him and I most certainly will not have any money to spend anytime soon. I just love his whole look, he's very elven, his eyes especially are just ! I need more pics lol!

 

I tell you, I am quickly losing my soul to these Limhwa dolls. *swoons*

 

I didn't think it was possible but ... I like him more than Mano. He's definitely more feminine than Mano but I don't think he looks like a woman at all. I'm wondering what if he'll look just as good in tan as Mano does... can't wait to see more pics.

 

I must say, this new Elf dude strikes my fancy much more than the normal Limho Mano. I don't like Mano's face and lips, but the Elf has such a serene, gentle air about him....and that sexy bod....oh no, I'm in trouble.

I agree...more ethereal perhaps....still a sight more realistic than many BJD though, so I understand what Absynthe is saying

 

I think it's the face up that makes him look a bit
ethereal-ish, it kind of give the impression that he's
not as "real-looking" as Mano -- but all of Limhwa's
sculpts are very realistic, specially compared to
many other BJD-sculpts. I'm of course referring strictly
to human-proportions, and not to aesthetics (people have different
ideas of realism, and what 'real' is to them).

I just want new hands, and feet...and possibly a dreaming elf
version of Mano....*hint, hint*

Limhwa has posted new images of the elf, and she's calling him Mano now!
He's gorgeous indeed, but definitely doesn't look like original-Mano.

He looks like my 44cm urethane Limho Mono. I hope I have saved enough money till the order period starts!!!! And those ears are scrumptious.

Heheheh...and here we were all trying to pinpoint the differences in the face sculpt! Well....we ALL know how different Mano can look with different face-ups

He does look a bit Lestat-esque doesn't he? Must be the wig and ruffs...

 

Will the elf be available in the tan resin? I see him with a healthy tan romping in the woods near my home. ; )

I agree, I think he looks much like the old Mano but a bit more, well, fey I think he's lovely and even though I don't have money to spend right now I hope many people get and enjoy him. He's such a lovely mold.

I love Limwha's boys, I think they look so human and striking. They also look very adult to me. They can look very masculine and also very effeminate depending on their faceup, but I don't think they ever look like teenagers - and that's unique.

It might be the angle, but it looks like his ears are placed extremely high up? I also think they look unfinished, compared to the overall realistic facesculpt. The elf version might still be modified other than the ears, I think his eyeshape is slightly different? Still curious to see owner pics with a more masculine look though!

 

Yeah, I think those flowers and lace are making him more feminine than he is. He has to potential to be a total hunk. But I'd like to see some more detailed pics of him before I decide anything.

Oh, those pictures. MUST. HAVE. HIM. Those elf ears! *faints* I need to see him in something besides those wild curly wigs, though. I sure hope he's not limited as I am completely broke right now with two dolls on layaway.

Looks like the elf is the same lovely body sculpt as Mano.
I'm really loving this new sculpt, he has such wonderful (and yummy) possiblities!!!

Just placed my order in beauty white urethane. Don´t want to go through this yellowing trouble like with my Limhwa girls.

I'm really loving it too. *squirms* Its so hard to resist getting him now even if I have to choose one of the other resins. *sits on hands*

Though Hikaru is still pretty new(yet from first order), I haven't yet noticed any yellowing with his french resin. Seeing as I got his new muscle chest today I may see a difference when I compare them. @.@ *hopes he hasn't yellowed* He shouldn't have much since I haven't taken him out a great deal, really...

 

WAAAHHH I can't order him, I don't have any money! Next time maybe....next time...

Luminaire- Thanks....it really sucks and it is bad timing for me..gotta pay personal properity tax on my car which is half of the cost for the Elf Mano

 

It does really suck. *nods* I'm unable because I couldn't pay my fed taxes in one go(over the cost of the Elf Mano) so I'm going to be doing a payment plan for that and I still need a new job in the first place. *facepalms* Plus well...I really should be putting other things first like the eventual car payments and insurance that ought to be coming up in the next six-twelve months. -.- Boo, I if only dolls could become transportation like a magic carpet. XD

 

How much longer until the new Elfs arrive? Anyone expecting one soon?

Here's my Mano Elf ~ He is in Beauty White urethane ~ Face up by me ( haven't attached upper eye lashes yet). His resin is a lovely, creamy white color, very ethereal and suitable for a fantasy character. The texture of his resin was especially nice to work on, I enjoyed painting him.











While his facial sculpt is quite stylistically similar to Mano, it is also quite different. His face is longer and overall thinner, his eyes are a size larger (14mm, whereas Mano is 12mm), Mano has a broader jaw and straight nose, while the elf's nose turns up a little at the tip. Both are beautiful in their own way.

However, I will probably be re-homing the Elf, as I am finding that my usually mellow Mano (Luis) has made it very clear that he wishes to be the only Mano among my crew.

Anyway, wanted to share pics of an arrived Mano with a different (non factory) face up.

Don't sell him, I think he is gorgeous, but I understand 1 Mano is enough to handle and dress.
