I adore my Limhwa Luna. Her body is absolutely stunning, but her posing is...not. And it's not for a lack of trying. She's 57cm tall with a pretty thick neck (10cm circumference!). I'm hoping that an Iplehouse nYID (9.5cm neck) or Feeple65 (9.5cm neck) body will work, but since the Limhwa is my only doll and I don't know anyone locally who collects SDs, I've gotta beg you guys for help. I know that a simple match in neck circumference does not a hybrid make, and I'm way too chicken to spend $400+ on a body without knowing if it'll work. I have not been able to find any reference photos of these hybrids via DOA search, flickr, or google. (I should add that for me, resin match isn't as much an issue as fit.) If any of you have an SD-scale Limhwa or EOSDoll head (Luna, Half-elf, Elly, Nina) you could pop onto another body, I'd be endlessly appreciative. I'm especially interested in Iplehouse nYID, SID, and EID and Feeple65, but since I'm not the only Limhwa owner out there who hates on their posing, any potential hybrid would be appreciated!
Personally, I LOVE the voluptuousness of the Limhwa body. And it can pose well, with patience. If I remember, I will try my HalfElf head on my EID body. Now that really doesn't pose well (well, the old ones. New ones look a damned sight better). I will subscribe to the thread and hopefully that will nudge me to do it.
I agree on the beauty of the Limhwa body. It's stunning and one of the reasons I picked this doll over others. She's curvy and graceful and I adore the detail of her hands, hips, collarbones, just everywhere. With thick suede in the torso joint and hot glue elsewhere she isn't horrible to pose, though her hip joint could use some modding to allow her legs more mobility. But she's my only lady doll and I'm interested in doing photostories that require some pain-in-the-butt poses, so I'd really like her on something doublejointed and effortless. It'll pain me to lose her original beauty, but hey, you can't win 'em all. (And thank you! Looking forward to those pics. )
I would have a look around for any pictures of the new EID posing, then, as they are better, but still not spectacular. I would opt for something by Fairyland, if I were you. I will still take a picture for you, just for reference.
Bump. Anyone have Feeple65 bodies they'd be willing to photograph? Even just the neck joint without the little Fairyland locking disc!
Well, I'm back to contribute to the thread myself, because I did it. I did the thing. I put her on a Feeple65 body. Excuse the poor picture quality, but there it is! The head fit great. I used the Limhwa pin to secure the elastic, though I left the Fairyland neck mechanism on the line, too, just hanging out in her head, because it would have been a pain in the butt to remove it. Limhwa resin is paler and yellower than Fairyland resin, but my girl's faceup was pinkish, so she matches the new body better than she did her original body. Her head is more mobile on this new body, too, possibly because the neck is just slightly narrower. There's no real noticeable gapping, just a little increased mobility. TL;DR: Great hybrid, 10/10, do it.
Grats on your hybrid, Sidroq, she's beautiful. Also got a good chuckle from your op photo. XD I know that feel... You've already seen my Twigling body hybrid, but just in case it's helpful for more people, here she is: Lyanna by t4124, on Flickr Limhwa Luna Head On Twigling Ingenue Body by t4124, on Flickr
Very interesting. I wonder how the Limhwa heads would look on the Feeple 60 body. I like my ladies to be shorter than my boys (even when my ladies wear heels.)
I want to see more pictures. Should the limhwa half elf head or other SD also fit on a MSD body? The head is so small and the body so long. Can someone please do it for me so I know it looks horrible? Then I know for sure I want the normal half elf and not the EOS as she's posing also bad.
Bumping this for more Limhwa Half Elf hybrid pics ^^ I am hoping to find a slightly taller body that will work for these ladies. Does anyone know whether the new Dollstown 17yrs girl body would work? Or anything else in the 60-65cm range? (besides what has been shown already of course, and thank you to previous posters for showing their lovely hybrids )
Hello everyone! Wow seems like the last time people posted here were long time ago. I have Limhwa/EOS Half Elf on Iplehouse body. I hope the photos and info I will share will be useful for someone who thinks about hybrids. Spoiler: Hybrid photos. Nude doll without wig! 20191109_145646 by Owley, on Flickr 20191109_145711 by Owley, on Flickr 20191109_145732 by Owley, on Flickr From the first sight the body and head compatibility are close to ideal, until you try and move the head. Then you see, that the faceplate cannot move with the back of the head and this is what you get from right side. 20191109_145749 by Owley, on Flickr This is from left side. Here it is perfect. 20191109_145807 by Owley, on Flickr Fitting the S-hook into the neck joint is a song of sadness XD But it is possible, of course. 20191109_145826 by Owley, on Flickr From this angle it is possible to see that actually the neck joint of head and neck joint of body are different in size. On Iplehouse site it is said that the neck is 9,7 cm (of the new SID body), but in reality it is full 10 cm and it makes difference. 20191109_145848 by Owley, on Flickr Faceplate can fit the body perfectly if you lower it as the doll looks down. 20191109_145942 by Owley, on Flickr 20191109_150001 by Owley, on Flickr 20191109_150007 by Owley, on Flickr And comparison between new and old bodies - if you want tot have Limhwa hybrid use the new type of body. Old one is visibly smaller then the new one. 20191109_150329 by Owley, on Flickr Also what I can add is that I cannot say anything about skintone matches, since I bought my Half Elf (her name is Tallariliel btw) second hand, and she is white resin, so it wasn't a problem to blush her into suitable color. Her head is older version I guess, it is full 21,5 cm and she defo needs 8-9 sized wigs. Sometimes some Monique wig models of 7-8 can fit her, but not on that body, when there is a gap between the head back and faceplate from one side. Wig holds them all together. Hope it was useful and it was ok to post it here!
Hello, it's me here again with another hybrid photo, hope it will help someone. Below you can see the photos of Limhwa Half Elf NS on iplehouse SID old type body in peach gold. Spoiler: 3 photos As you can see it is the same thing with the neck being slightly (but not critically) thick. The width of shoulders is 12,5 cm (in new type SID body it is 11,5) so since they are wider the head looks much better.
Hello Everyone, while I was perusing around about Limhwa/EosDoll I came across this forum. and well I have some experience that, I can speak a little bit on, regarding this topic. I have two Limhwa Half Elf heads. both were casted in 2013 I believe. the first one I got as a full doll second-hand on the marketplace in 2014(she has yellowed a lot) the second one I also got second-hand but from instagram(has not yellowed very much if at all) my first one has been through a journey when it comes to bodies. so i will now show all of the bodies she has been on through out the years. As meny of you know this is the Limhwa 57cm Limhwa body. which i love the sculpting and the beauty of it but the posing is pretty much non existing. which single jointed bodies are. so i made a horrible decision (Noob) to do a trade with a person for a different body This is is the April story horrible body i got in a trade pictured with a different Limhwa half elf that i sold not long after this photo. i hated this body. i never knew that a double jointed body could be worse than a single jointed one *mind blown* if i remember correctly i couldn't get her to stand i had to lean her on things because her leg kept popping out because of the way you had to string this body But then i got this Iplehouse EID body. posing was a bit better but i didnt like the knee joint on this body plus the neck with the head was very odd to me. but i think this one might have been the closest color match. i have a new SID bodie but never tried her on it has it is the special real skin. this is the Granado Nuevo body(the one that came with Venus) i absolutely loved this body but not for this sculpt personally. the posing wasn't the best and the body was very cheese colored. but i would recommend this body and one day i would really love to own another one. side note my favorite head sculpts for this body was Fairyland celine and the sooloo/MSDoll Drayton. And this is a comparison of the Iplehouse old EID, Granado Nuevo and the horrible April story body This is the Dollshe 26F(2017) while i love this combo i would not recommend this body unless you can get it second hand and make sure it is one with the metal neck part and silicone kips.posing is good but not the best.she is pretty tall tho and i love that but again not for this sculpt personally. the body is in Oriental. This is my second Limhwa Half Elf on the boy body. he is on the Dollzone 62cm body that i believe is discontinued now but im not 100% sure on that. its in the normal pink color i believe.. i think the peach color would have matched better but it came out a few years after i buy this body. and i absolutely love this combo. posing is ok but not great. and i know this one has been mentioned before but this is the body she is currently on which is the new Fairylang F65 body(2021) much lighter in weight and the posing is good...her arms sometimes falls off tho lol but this isn't her permanent body either tho..as I've ordered a Bimong11 58cm Fusion body during his retirement sale which i haven't received yet but will try to remember to update once i do . i also have a coral reef SD body i am waiting for that i can also try her on. Happy Hunting!
With the caveat that I'm the weirdo collector who likes my heads to look on the smaller side, I prefer my Limwha head on much bigger bodies. Here she is on the Impldoll Star MGB 65 cm body in tan: Some (terrible) pictures Now she's on the Doll-Family H 68 cm body: Dolls in coats I like the proportions a lot. Now, for the color matching... (painting that big ol' body is going to be some work, but I love that gold-brown resin color).
