Haha, I know how that can be. All the sudden, Rory gets all the photos and Gavin is getting jealous. Of course, making things for his massive JID body can be a pita. That bum. Her chest definitely causes some issues though. Here she is in her new things! She had some fun today showing off, so I posted a set on Tumblr. I love how she photographs. AND, I found the mysterious butt lock today! She can indeed sit up! I just can only get one lock to work at a time, so she sits up with her legs crossed primly, hehehehe. I have to go try and see if my Mono boy has the same. This has opened up a hold new world. They can now sit with Gavin and not be falling over backwards, hahaha.
Rory looks adorable! And see, I told you they had butt locks! The way I get Sam to use both is the push her legs back into the socket so it slides out and locks along her butt.
allurose: My flat feet arrived with the Limhwa shipment before Christmas at Junkspot, so I'm happy to say everyone was very helpful. I'm kind of used to the high heeled feet now, but I'm glad I have both pairs. Novemberkris: The tan skin is lovely in daylight. IzabethS: Sam is lovely in daylight too. I need some daylight. Here is Holly. With some patience I was able to get her to stand in heels without leaning on anything. I wish she were a little more stable, but I also have a lot of uneven surfaces where I live. I really want to get her a new faceup, and I think I want her to have a shorter wig, but I'm very happy with her overall. Holly by knitknotnet, on Flickr
Thanks Meltar! Your Holly looks lovely too. Where did you find her pants? I'm still struggling to find pants for Sam!
Thank you Izabeth. I bought a pair of green pants and another pair of light brown pants from TTYA. I think they are both out of stock at the moment (I find searching their inventory challenging), but they'll probably be back. They do have the orange version of the green pants. The brown pants are tighter than in the seller's photo, but a little looser than the green ones. Both pairs fit really well as skinny jeans, but I don't think I'd be able to pull them over the flat feet without removing them. I can pull them over the heeled feet though! I was able to get one butt lock working in the brown pair, so with more effort it might be possible to get both working, but it's a pretty tight fit.
I've been spending more time with Holly since I switched her to flat feet. I'd like to switch back to heeled feet at some point, but she's a lot easier to pose this way. She's wearing a shirt and skirt from guppykisses. I decided to try my other Leekeworld wig on her today. I really like the color, but I wish it were shorter. I'm not sure if I want to trim it though.. I'm still figuring out what she likes, and I don't want to ruin this wig. I'd really like to get her a new faceup with better eyebrows, but there are a lot of decisions to make. Holly by knitknotnet, on Flickr
Hi! I'm new to DoA but wanted to add a photo of my girl. I love Limhwa's sculpts, but I was a little disappointed because I thought she was going to have double jointed legs. My Lily girl named Aya is expecting a guy friend soon (a Limhwa Mono). Not sure if I'm a fan of Limhwa's eyebrows though, they're super light. Meltar, I love your girl! I was wondering what size wig you bought for her? Aya has a size 6-7 wig (supposedly) that I bought off etsy but it seems too tight on her head. (sorry if the image doesn't load)
sejadzak: Thank you! Lily and Mono will be a great pair! I'm not a fan of the eyebrows either... sooner or later Holly will need some new ones. I have two 6-7 Leeke wigs from Denver Doll. The dark red one is "Francie," and the light green one was a unique/custom color that isn't available anymore. The wigs are stretchy and fit well. As for the legs, they should be double jointed. Is there a certain pose you want her to do? I can't see your image, but it looks like the path goes to the file on your computer. You'll need to upload it to flickr or another image host and use the url to reference your photo.
Ooo, I have a Lily and Mono pair (though my poor Mono does desperately need a custom face up). Here they are with their new Fairyland friend, Pong (who needs a name) and Gavin, my JID Owen. Rory totally stole Pong's wig and loves it! Go figure! The Doll Family 03/2015 by novemberkris, on Flickr[/IMG]
Novemberkris: Rory looks great in that wig! I like how she and your Mono have a similar hairstyle yet look so different.
Meltar, Rory usually wears a long wig (a Leekeworld 6-7), but she looks so cute in Pong's that I want to make her a 20s inspired outfit.
I second the notion!! Sam recently broke my heart... One of my cats while I was at a convention knocked her over and broke two of her fingers off. I fixed the break, but it still saddens me...
I can try, but it as the two middle fingers (middle and ring finger) on her left hand, so it'll take some creativity on my part to fix it...
I know I read of someone who did that kind of a mod to fix broken fingers, but I don't know who it was or where I read it ... :/
Yay, Youpla! You got a Lily now too. I bet she looks fun with your Mono boy too. I love her Freckles and those eyes are really something. She has such a different personality than my Rory!
Yeah A girl for my boy :P but she looks more mature than him ! ahaha ^-^ history of life ! I like to see sculpt with many personality, you Rory is very sweet !
haha, she can show him the ways of the world, maybe? That is a fun contrast! yeah, I think my Rory is almost playing too innocent! Haha-she's a bit more gentle than the OC I've shelled in her. Dolls, they have their own plans? I suppose eventually she's just going to announce she is someone else. Haha.
@Youpla: Your Lily is soo pretty, and I love the clothes you chose. What kind of boots does she have?
Thank you Meltar this shoes : http://www.tatabjd.com/en/goods.php?id=2886 But it works only with high heeled feet and she can't stand with... not a good choice x)
I've loved Limhwa girls for a very long time, and finally took the plunge and ordered a Lily last week. She arrived today. I have absolutely nothing for her to wear, so wrapped her in some lace for her first pictures.
Oh so exciting! I can't wait to see all the fun things you come up with for your Lily MB Lilac. I enjoy stalking your projects (and your Mono boy, Adrian, is handsome as well!)!
My Lily posing with some of my Iplehouse gang. I borrowed the dress and wig off of another doll, and they are way too big for her.
I am so in love with these dolls, and so impressed with the sheer amount of talent on here! I think Sujan will be my next purchase!! Going to read my way through the whole thread now!! Edited to add, Sujan is on her way!! I bought her second hand on here, so she should be with me later in the week. So happy!
My Sujan has arrived and I can't get over how beautiful she is - her hands are exquisitely detailed. My only hesitation is that she seems to have such a TINY head! I've tried a wig on her and she definitely looks better (although the wig was a bit large for her). What do more experienced people think - is it just something I'll get used to? Her eyes are quite small as well ....
The Limhwa dolls have more realistic proportions. I really prefer the more realistic dolls but the heads can look small if you are used to the more anime dolls.
I like greater realism too - and the doll I was comparing her to was an Iplehouse Benny, and Sujan is quite a bit taller as well. She doesn't look right for the character I had in mind, so I'm thinking about where she fits into my story ...
I do hope you find a character for her! I don't know your story, but maybe she could be a faerie or elf to account for her different look. Or you could have two stories!
I think she's going to be a slightly fey, telepathic member of the aristocracy in my story - who all have red hair. Her pale skin looks good with that, and I found someone to do her face up for me too, so watch this space!
Wow, that is quite the amazing set of textures!! I'm extremely partial to green, so I might be biased, but that is almost certainly my favorite of your gorgeous dresses so far. OK one of my faves... just like all the rest, haha! Did you pierce her ears yourself?
My face up artist pierced her ears when she did Lily's body blushing and manicure. Here's a picture of the whole dress..
Wow...what a lovely dress and photo. I am in the process of paring down my doll collection, but this thread is making me sweat a little!
Hi! What are your thoughts on tan Leda, or tan mini Limhwa dolls? Please share pics & opinions I can't decide if the color is a pretty sun tan or a bit on the orangey side, spray tan style...
I opted for normal skin for my Sujan because of the whole "spray tan" thing. It just looks a bit to orange for my tastes. This tan comparison was helpful for me: Revenge of the Toy Box: Cross-Company Comparison: Tan Resins
I have a tanned Sujan! I agree that her color is more on the spray-tan orange side, at least in comparison to my other tanned dolls. On her own, she doesn't look so bad, though. Here's an old pic. Sorry, a bit risque, but I don't have a lot to choose from. ^^;
That picture is gorgeous, breakfast in bed I'd my kinda morning . I recently put a limhwa sujan on a super short layaway from T4124 right here on DoA and I can't wait for her to get here I had ended up selling all my msd but one because they didn't match up with my more mature doll aesthetic. I'm not a big fan of the really large heads on minifee and my remaining msd takes 6-7 wigs so I wanted a doll who could share with her. I'm also totally in love with my limhwa toyou mari so having another limhwa in a bigger scale will be amazing . One thing that does sort of confuse me though is that the DoA wiki says that limhwa minis can wear minifee and unoa clothes but all the pictures I've seen of them compared makes them look like completely different proportion wise? It would be amazing if they can wear minifee clothes since minifees have the majority of the market when it comes to doll clothes.
Congrats @-T2P- I think you'll like the MSD sized Limhwa -- same grace and beautiful sculpting as the tiny ladies, but also double jointed! I've made a lot of custom fitted clothing for my MNF, and NONE of the fitted stuff will remotely go onto the Limhwa body. I think if the items are baggy style or stretchy, then they might. Tops are a lot closer to fitting both, but pants would need to be really good and stretchy. Sounds like you've already found some comparison photos, but if not, I can take one for you! Her feet are also quite a lot bigger than MNF too.
That's pretty much what I thought XD! I think the DoA wiki may be referring to the old single jointed limhwa mini body which looks much skinnier than the newer double jointed body. I'll be really pleased to have a mature mini to photograph again. As much as I love my soom supergems, lugging around 65cm tall dolls for outdoor photography is a major drag, sujan will be spoiled for attention here for sure
Thank you)) I am very glad that you have Sujan! I have also Sara forward Tini Do. I was trying on my Lily Minifee things. Suitable knit suit and stretch jeans, other clothes small.
Just got my first Limhwa girl today. This is Limhwa Lily. The hideous shirt she's wearing is literally the only thing in my entire house that fits her. LOL! I'd originally made it as part of a leopard Halloween costume for an old Delilah Noir doll, probably 10 years ago. It's loose and stretchy, so it fits Lily. Omigosh, I'm REALLY going to have to start sewing for her! And I can't even find any patterns for her. Uh-oh. I'm in trouble. I might have to draft some patterns myself, or do some major adjustments to some other pattern. Poor girl needs clothes, and all she has is leopard pajamas. This is her default face-up. My only criticism of it is that I wish the eyebrows had been done darker. They're so light, and reddish. She'll make a great redhead, though.
She is lovely Snow Song, and I love your photo of her! I think she would be very pretty as a red head.
Thanks, people. I started drafting a couple of patterns for her last night for a shell top and skirt. Argh. Pattern making stinks. I can do it, it just takes time and I'm impatient. LOL. EDIT: Just finished my first draft for the shell top. ARRGGHH!!! Well, THAT didn't work. I guess I'll be working on draft #2 tonight. *Grumble-grumble*
