Leekeworld Mini Project & Art-body Dolls Discussion - Part 2

Oh wow! She's beautiful! Its so nice to see owner pics. They always show off the dolls better than the websites do. More realistic and less Photoshop, I guess. Lolol I was thinking of the A face but Doona's face in B is just too pretty. If I ever get an Ashley I may have to get the B.

I just bought an Ashley from Denver doll!! When I was trying to find more about the doll I realised the entire leekeworld website was sold out. Anyone know why that would be?

 

Leeke has changed to "periodical sales", as in, they will make their dolls available at certain times.
Their dolls (unsure if it is all or a just some) will be up for purchase, on the 30th of this month.

 

Yeah. It was a pure fluke that when I went to buy, it so happened to be the new year ordering. I'm usually not so lucky with these things!

My delivery took 24 to get all the way to the uk! It'll now take longer to get out of customs to my house than it took to get from S Korea to Heathrow. Ugh!

 

Wow I'm lucky to fall in love with her when Denver doll has her. I've only ever bought an in stock doll once and I can't believe she's going to be here so soon!

 

She's here!! The eye putty they sent with her with feels like oil based clay so she has no eyes

 

@MarisaAvery I opened the eye putty that arrived today, and I totally agree! Greasy. I have some silicone already so that was ok.

My girl Agnes arrived today - finally, another Leekeworld Nicole on the board!!! Alas, no Leekeworld box but I'm ok with that! She'll have to wait for a faceup, and I'll be making her some of her own clothes over the weekend. Her thighs are so chubby, it's amazing!!

I have been interested in her since I first saw owner pics. I do not think I have seen a blank Nicole before either.
Is her nose quite wide..? (Reminds me of Migidoll Ryu)

I was wondering if anyone knew if the M-line Benjamin head (Leeke World) would fit on an art body?

I'm a bit worried about the neck measurements/overall proportion, though I have heard that m-line works with the art body?

Hello what clothes have y’all found to fit your art bodies I’m working on a dim laia art body hybrid.

 

Was looking to see if there was still an active discussion for the 1/4 leekeworld dolls but it's pretty dead in here.
Anyone still have and enjoy these dolls? I still miss my Mikhaila I rehomed years ago but I got an Alvin head this year and put her on an old volks msd body. I thought there were so many cute dolls in this size by Leeke. Would love to see some pictures of people's dolls these days and chat

 

@AlisonVonderland hi! I don't have full dolls by Leekeworld, but my Minifee Eva head got a Leeke Art body recently, and I absolutely love it I can post a couple of photos if you think it appropriate here.

@elsie_f I mean the thread is totally dead and if she's showing off her body (as in its not just a head shot) or you're talking about clothes or anything it really seems on topic. I always struggle with my hybrids too though, never know where I should discuss them.

Is it a creepy thing to say that my girl is kinda half-sister to yours since my Leeke Art body belonged to an Ashley originally?

@AlisonVonderland so I've managed to get some decent shots! She's not really showing off her body bc, well, it's cold outside So I'll talk about clothes: she's wearing a pair of leggins and a top made specifically for this body, and the skirt & coat are parts of an outfit made for Dollzone msd body - it's a bit too spacious in the shoulders area but otherwise very good fit! Also, I got a minifee outfit from Nyusszdesign and this girl can wear most parts of it (not the pants though), but I don't have pictures of it yet. Ah, and the boots are minifee-sized I guess, but I tried them on before buying so I knew for sure I could get them.

OK so is been a while but I am hoping to get my Art Body girls displayed soon after a several year break from BJDs

so two questions-

1 is anyone still making clothes for them? none of the previous places I've gotten them seem to be
2 recomendations on stands? I need ... a lot and dont want to order a bunch to find they dont go low enough/have a big enough holder/ tip over

 

Well, I asked on the Q&A board back at the end of January if Leeke had any plans to stock the art body again anytime soon. Of course, they said they don't plan on it, but I'm holding out hope that they will again someday anyway!

 

@Thespian Ugh that breaks my heart. Of all the dolls I wish I could order new again it's Mikhaila on the art body like when I had her before.
Is leeke actually selling any of their bodies though? I've not been up to date, but I've checked several times over the last year and I recall seeing heads available sometimes but can't remember if I ever saw the bodies actually for sale.

 

They're not. The heads are up on and off, but the bodies have been sold out since at least the start of Covid. I think it has to do with the current state of worldwide shipping than anything else. I've been checking in on the art doll pages every few days or so, so if something changes, I'll be sure to report back ASAP!

 

That would be nice to know, I still hope maybe someday they will offer them again.

 

Hey, just popping back in. Last year I adopted a leekeworld Alvin head from the marketplace here so I'm technically back in the game and thought I would let her join in:

She's a replacement for my character that Mikhaila had been, just with a bit of different proportion (on Volks MSD body, and 7/8 head instead of 6.5) I'm still figuring out how to style her but I think this looked cute yesterday

Hope everyone is doing ok, maybe those old dolls are up to any new adventures?

 

So after doing some digging (because I'm sick of waiting lol), it looks like Leeke is selling their bodies domestically but not internationally at this time via Hannasu. You can't see it on the English version of the site, but you can see it on the Korean one.

It may be possible to order one if you were to find a good proxy service, but I genuinely have no idea how one would even go about doing that.

I thought about ordering just the head and afterwards hunt down for the body on the second hand market but I don’t feel like going through all of that hassle.

 

Well, I have a basic skin body on order through Hannasu! No idea when it will arrive, but I'm excited to get this hybrid project finished in the near-ish future.

If anyone is interested, I used the Korean Buddies proxy service. In my opinion, their fees are pretty reasonable (12% of the total value, which is about ~$18 based on the current won-USD conversion), their communication for ordering was very prompt, and their website is decently user-friendly.

I'm going to stick a Comibaby Misa head on this body when it arrives and I'm so hype!! If anyone wants to create a similar hybrid, Comibaby's white skin is a near-perfect match for Leekeworld's basic skin.

EDIT: Apparently, Hannasu are not currently selling it, so I am being refunded. Bummer.

EDIT EDIT: Found someone selling one secondhand, so my dream hybrid is back on track! Yay!

 

Reviving the thread a bit - would anyone be up for taking some measurements of their larger headed a-types? (how "tall" the heads are/top to bottom)
And how much leniency the head has on a smaller neck, if anyone got any smaller bodies to put the head on.
(I'm considering hybrid options)

 

Approximately from top to bottom it's 4 inches or 10cm

I don't have any smaller bodies other than the smaller tiny size art body but I've included that in the photo

The inside measurements of the neck hole are around 24 x 22 mm if that helps?

Don't forget the heads are heavy so a smaller body might be more prone to topple

Well I couldn't resist the closing sale, I now have Mia and PiyoPiyo heads on order so thats 3 heads to find bodies for and that'll bring me up to 11 different (12 total) of the big noggin head sculpts for the art bodies.

I'm a bit sad it doesnt look like there will ever be more but since my 9 on bodies all need restringing it'll let me focus on getting them on display and maintained

 

I wasn't sure if the heads were on sale or not and I splurged HARD on wigs so I couldn't get one. Currently I want to get a Guard Love 1/4 Bonnie body for my Florence head to make a Junko Mizuno style girl.
