40–49cm Dolls Learning to 3D sculpt

Years ago I started trying to make a doll traditionally, then life happened, moved multiple times, and in such time she was misplaced entirely. I also stepped away because I was young and took the fandom too serious, so now I'm getting into it again.

I've been away from dolls for too long so now I'm making an attempt to move into 3d digital sculpting. It'll allow for experiment room for me and also the ability to have a master copy more easily stored. Also a way to bond with my dad since he loves 3D printing
This post will just be an place that'll evolve overtime and likely change which doll I'm working on a lot. it's just experimentation and fun in nature, nothing too serious.
I'll just update this whenever I feel, I don't have a timeline in mind for finishing these or making progress, I really just want a place to dump my thoughts and movement. Sorry for the incoming lack of cohesion and likely started and dropped projects while I push forward.
I appreciate any feedback but do keep in mind I'm not super serious about this and don't expect company level stuff from me. I want to improve but this is still a lighthearted hobby and I intend for it to stay that way, I'm already too perfectionist in my professional life, trying to not be in my hobby life, thank you for your understanding.

Planning to keep within MSD size because that's my favorite, thus the prefix of post.


Since these are based on my OCs and sometimes spec bio I'll post little summaries for them as well. Maybe I'll post some illustration of them as well at some point, we'll see

My pinup worthy cyclops alien lady. She's round and full of high energy. She's into alt music, and her species has the ability to survive in space and can hold their breath for an unbelievable amount of time. How, why? simple, because it's funny. And surfing in space kicks booty






thus far I've run into a couple issues printing her head but I'm shocked how well it's turned out with my lack of experience. my dad has been helping in the printing side as well which helps. I've already made a lot of mistakes and learned from this one and immediately jumped into another attempt with my anthro African wild dog OC:

She's a scientist, is very serious and motivated, was a fancy goth as a young adult and had focused into corpo goth as she got older. Has a GF who is a mink. Deeply shy and protective of her interests and passions, which can make her appear judgemental and uptight at times.

 

Been making a lot of progress recently,
Worked on the chubby body more, and made a couple human heads to go with it



also made a slim body with a head, was aiming for mature look
