    3. This year, the Ldoll staff has decided to give you a chance to give your opinion on the contest themes!

Several contests take place at Ldoll Festival, including our popular customization contests and photography contest.
These contests play an enormous part in the success of the Festival, enabling amazing, creative collectors to show their talent and imagination.

Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we select the right themes - the themes that will strike the imagination and creative fiber of as many collectors as possible, the themes that will be a worthy, fun challenge to you!

In order to give you a voice in this selection process, we invite you to share with us your best ideas for our customization contest and photography contest.

Share your ideas until March 15th on the Ldoll forum: http://www.ldollfestival.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=244

The chosen themes for these two contests, as well as the announcement of a brand new contest will be revealed at the end of March!

      Thank you for your participation!

    5. When will you open the website again? Would love to see an exhibitor list as far as itยดs known by now :)
      Thanks.

    6. I'm really hoping to be able to travel to this event in Oct. I see so many lovely EU artists' resin creations on a french doll board where I lurk alot..

Just hope I can get it together and make my way across the ocean to get there!

Will be a ton of fun I bet!

    7. I need help, someone please.

This fall, I and a friend want to go to Ldoll, but we need advice on places to stay hotel or something similar that doesn't cost too much and is close Ldoll for my friend have a wheelchair.

We come from Sweden and I have never set my foot in France before so I need all the help and advice we can get on overnight and anything else that might be good to know.
      Grateful for help.
      Hugs to you all.

    8. Our website will be open again soon. We are working hard on it.

But i will answer to your question Kyrian ^^ I will give you two hostel adresses. They are obliged to have an access for people with wheelchair, in France. I can't tell you that they have for sure, but they should.

This one is the cheapest :
      • Ibis Budget Villeurbanne – Villeurbanne
Address: Rue du 8 Mai 1945, 69100 Villeurbanne
      Link

And this one is more expensive but it's the closest to the festival :
      • Ibis Style Lyon – Villeurbanne
      Address: 130, boulevard du 11 Novembre 1918, 69100 Villeurbanne.
      Link

I hope it will be helpful.

      Thank you !

    9. I'm again exited to attend LDoll! ^^ I'm truly waiting for the exhibitors list like others. :D I already know few xD and one I especially asked if they'll come! YaY!

    10. Thanks so much lelahel. :) It may be one of those hotels. They look good to me.

    11. I am wishing to pre-order tickets for both days as soon as the website of LDoll Festival is open again and tickets are available. A pity I did not read about the chance to suggest themes for the contests on time, but I love the idea and cannot wait to see which they are finally and the exhibitor list at the Festival this year as well. Exciting new contests sound great too. About places to spend night there, during last three years I have only been at the closest hotel to Double Mixte and by what I noticed and may remember it seems it has good access. I hope this might help.

    12. I just ordered myself some fireproof fabric for my table. ^^ Yay! LDOll is just a little bit closer now. Wonderful new site too! :D

    13. I love the new site. I already booked room and flight. I hope pre-sale tickets are available soon.

    14. Thanks for the information about the availability of the presale tickets, Jaina. I bought mine for the whole weekend yesterday, right after reading from you about it. 80 exhibitors sound gorgeous. I am wishing to be there already. Now only working on the contests is pending.

    15. Ldoll is so close! I'm exited and wish for more visitors than last year! :D it will be fantastic!

    16. I'll be there as well this year! It has been so much fun previous years (I went to ldoll2 and ldoll3)! Can't wait to see what everyone is making and meeting people and chatting with everyone \o/.

    17. Over 80 exhibitors! I bet that LDoll 4 will be amazing. :)

    18. We have updated the website with the professionnal exhibitors list, attending ldoll 4 !

It is in our "exhibitors/professionnal exhibitors" section.

      Our website again ^^ : www.ldollfestival.com

Thank you for your support !

    19. I have been living in Lyon for 4 years, and my advice is simple: if you have the possibility to visit this town, just do it ! There is an old neighbourhood with houses from medieval ages, and it's gorgious. And there is a kind of small restaurants, traditionnal only in Lyon, called "bouchons": you can eat traditionnal food from Lyon (beware, it's not for dieters...), simple and tasty...

    20. I'm travelling by bus and I'll arrive at the Perrache bus station in Lyon; is it easy to get to LDoll from there..?

    21. Evelien, do you have an address of the bus station? The easiest way to get to the Double Mixte Convention center where LDoll Festival is, would be by tram, of course it depends where the station is. I don't know how to find it from the map without any address. If you go near to the Gare Part-Dieu trainstation or towards the shopping mall it is easy to go to the Double Mixte from there. Hop in a tram to La Doua โ€“ IUT-Feyssine direction, hop of at Gaston Berger stop and the venue is a big building nearby, I'm sure there'll be plenty of people travelling at the same direction so you can't miss it. Also, some advice is given in at LDoll site.

HAH! xD and just after I posted this, there's clearly said that the Perrache train/buss station has the tram stop near. ^^ So it's easy, just find your way out from the station and follow the instruction.

Wonderful to have you there. ^^

    22. Thank you ^^

I'm a bit scared because I'm travelling alone and my French isn't so great. I hope it won't be too hard to buy the right ticket :P

    23. Evelien, don't be afraid. I can only say (poorly) bonjour and merci and that's about it. ;) Are you worried about the ticket to the Tram? If yes, there's those ticket machines you can switch the language to english if that's better for you. I'm going to buy 3-4 days ticket at once so I can use that for the public transportation. I know my hotel is close enough to walk to but I also know my feet are going to be very sore after one day of standing/walking. :) I hope you'll have fabulous time there.

    24. Thanks. I hope I'll be alright. I've travelled alone before but only to Dutch and English speaking countries ^^. I had French in high school for six years but that's 10 years ago so I'm VERY rusty..!! :(

Oh well, I'm sure I'll be fine, I just have a tendency to get very nervous beforehand. I like to know what exactly I'm up to. ^^

    25. I am having problems when sending my photos for one of the contests. I am really worried about it. Might you help me with it, please? Thank you.

    26. Great! I will take a look

    27. By popular demand we have agreed to postpone the deadline for the customization and photo contests to September 13th! Anyone who has already sent their submission may revise it until September 13th!

    28. We have two changes about our professionnal exhibitors :
We're sorry to announce that Jerry Berry won't be ablet to attend the festival this year, we hope they'll come to the festival next year !
But we're also glad to say that, for the first time, Dollmore will be there !!

Aaand Migidoll organize special pre order in their website for Ldoll 4 ! If you're interested in getting one of their doll at ldoll, please visit their website !

      Thank you ^^

    29. I'm with you! My college French studies were focused on translation and not on speaking so that was little help. But for all the trash talk I heard about the French (from my fellow murkins) I've been there several times armed with nothing but my guidebook and my ability to "ask how much is this" and "where's the bathroom" and every time I found people friendly and willing to help me out. In fact they even let me butcher their language without judgement. The only snootiness and misery I've experienced travelling was with French Canadians in Winnipeg and Montreal. They can be wicked mean in the service industry in those places.....but not in France....and man, do I wish I was going to Ldoll....

    30. I am truly glad my problem was solved, so excited to take part in a couple of contests, and really happy as well because Dollmore is coming. :love

    31. Yes, I'll be there! My first time c:
I already saw some amazing dolls that got donated to the raffle (that I wouldn't mind winning!).
I'm entering two contests though, so I'm really curious to find out what the prizes are!

    32. Congrats to everyone who made it to the next round in the contests, all the entries look beautiful! It's going to be so hard to choose one to vote for..

Also really looking forward to Ldoll and seeing everyone again! ^_^

    35. Dont worry too much about your french ! I have plenty of english speaking friends who told me that it's possible to speak english in France, even if the level is low... It will be quite possible to ask for some help in english ! But, just in case, dont forget to have a written addres of the Ldoll, people being lost in english will show you... ^^

    36. Thank you for everyone who I met at LDoll. ^-^ Busy weekend behind and soon will begin to sew again. :D A little bit of a holiday is needed!

    37. Hello ! I'm the one who ordered you some trousers for my big Charles (from Doll Granado). I was happy to meet you too ! (and I really liked your work ! )

    38. No feedback about the Ldoll ? Or is it on another forum ?

    39. ekorre great pics of the event. curious to know if french was the main language or was there alot of USA and other EU folks too

    40. There were a lot of other dealers and stands from all over Europe and even some Asian ones, so the main language was English. All announcements and such were done in French first and repeated in English. The girl that translated was a soft speaker though, so personally I didn't hear much, but they did announce things in English.
I was helping someone with her booth (we are Dutch and I don't speak French at all), but we only encountered two or three people who spoke only French and no English at all.

    41. Thanks snow. Sounds and looks like a really terrific event. Maybe I can go next year and join the fun

    42. there were tons of foreign ppls! I agree the main language is English rather than French! Asians are mainly koreans. There were few local french sellers I think. It is said to be the biggest EU doll festival but I have no idea if it's true. I met two US doll makers who make extremely exquisite dolls, one with the theme of Alice.
