The girls were having fun last night, skipping, and in the living room no less. I'll have to make and effort to get them outside more!

Oh gosh, all the elemental fairies coming home are so sweet! Has anyone seen a Benny yet?

I have exciting news!! I managed to trade some mohair and blythe outfits for a Basic Lami!! She arrived today and I need help. Does anyone have a basic Lami? I cannot find a wig that suits her in my stash and can't work out what eyes to use for her. I have tried blonde, ash blonde, black and brown and am lost.

Bald and naked I think she's adorable. But once I put a wig and clothes on I don't like her anymore. I really want to love her.... Anyone have any suggestions on colour/style to suit her? Her big eyes throw me a little - I think that's what it is???

 

It all depends on the colouring for the face up... Check out my flickr strem, I have a wack of Lami's... all different!

I have a:
ws ninja Lami named Luna who has grey eyes and a grey wig
ns 2006 Lami who looks best with brown or blue eyes and an auburn wig (she looks horrid with blonde hair)
ts Lark who looks good with auburn/brownish hair
ws vampire Alex looks great with black hair and purplish eyes....

so it's all based on the complextion, the diameter of the eyes I think... I use 14mm to fill up the eye holes more...

 

I finally hat to give up on tan Haru, but I think he'll be making is way home in ns some time in the (distant) future.

Thanks. My girl has the same complexion as one of your Lamis. Mine is a 2008 girl and has the same faceup. I have 12mm and 14mm brown eyes coming and 12mm green, and they are for her and my ruki basic. I was thinking green eyes and black hair for Ruki but couldn't find a wig I loved, then I saw your Ruki just then. She is DIVINE!! I have seen her before ages ago and remember her but didn't realise she was a Ruki too! Where did you find her wig? It's just perfection.
I love your photos. Your Lati gang is adorable and it really cheered me up to be honest. I had always thought that 2-3 Latis was the golden number and was feeling a bit funny this afternoon looking at my Latis because I was worried I had overdone it and bought too many to really love them..... I had a good look through your photostream tonight and feel so much better about having more girls than I planned. Your collection proves that less isn't always more. Your girls are GORGEOUS and you clearly enjoy them all. I've been so worried I wouldn't ever bond with all my girls if I had more tan 2, but I am not confident that if I find the right wig for my Ruki and Lami, get the right eyes in I can have a ball with the 4 of them (and my 2 incoming girls....and the floating head who also arrived today who needs a body....hehe.... I'm addicted!!!!)

I know I sound silly worrying about things like that., but it really did make me feel a lot better looking through your photos

Tilly totally takes my breathe away, she was the first release Ruki too!

As for numbers... I thought I could just live with one lati... then Lami came... then Tilly and Lea on the same day... I thought I'd stick with 4, as rationally more than that would just be insane...wouldn't it?? So almost 3 years later... I've got a dollhouse overflowing with little personalities that I simply love/cherish/adore each and every one. Each one evokes different feelings and comforts in different situations. They are total therapy for me, even my mom and best friend have taken up lati therapy themselves with a little coaxing and enabling from me.

 

Yay - my mystic vampire Lami is here already! She's totally adorable. The bad news? She also came bearing customs fees. $54 later, she's mine free and clear! It's okay though - she's cute, and I'm relieved to not have to worry about in-transit dolls now.

It's always so stressful to have little ones travelling alone!

argh, so did everyone who wanted to order get a LRRH? like siruveru, i was gonna wait for secondhand to bring home a tan Haru. but i went ahead and ordered him. didn't want to risk it. i could only manage one and it was a tough decision between him and Miel. i tried to decide which would be easiest (and cheapest) to find 2nd hand. i went with Haru. and then, at the last minute...i ordered Miel too

 

OH! You are totally naughty too! Must be something in the air! HAHAHAH.

I am still in shock myself for adopting 2 new babies this month... ERK! At least one won't be home until the fall... then it's not so bad.

 

I really wish I'd been able to order a tan Haru, but I can't complain - my Lati population has really exploded - FAST! (They tend to do that, don't they?)

My four year old picked the outfit that the new arrival is wearing - she's pretty proud of her selections, lol! My poor baby is teething (again) and has been fussy, so I haven't had a chance to snap photos yet. Will attempt to get some here shortly! Hadley came with two wigs, and I'm not really sure which one I want to keep on her...I keep changing my mind! Fred has been wearing the other while I attempt to make up my mind. Flora's wig has been purchased, so I won't have any baldies soon!

 

I wish I got Haru as well! But ah well.. maybe later secondhand.

Hmmmm...perhaps I just don't see it for myself, but Tanned haru really did not appeal to me.. I do like him as a basic WS though !
That cute little face with a twinkle in those eyes. Miel is really cute... I almost rehomed another miel vampire this week.. but had to curb my enthusiasm there since having to remind myself that I have no room for another ...sighhh.

I like the basic version Haru also - I can see myself ordering a NS sometime (way!) in the future.

Random, but am I the only one who is anti-hood in my dollies' clothing? Lami came with some really great clothing from her original home (including an awesome hoodie and a hoodie dress) but I just can't see myself using the items with hoods. I also never buy anything with hoods for them, EVER. Am I just weird? (I think it all sparks from a hoodie I had for my long-since-rehomed PKF - her hair was WAY too big for it!) I don't like the idea of my girls' hair getting messed up, or having to deal with a hood in the way.

Conversely, I LOVE hoodies for my own use. :P

So my wonderful husband tried to purchase a basic Haru for me for our anniversary, but we can't get the lati site to take the credit card, and we are using internet explorer. We get the card typed in then it runs through the processing and says attempt failed. Does anyone have a suggestion?

 

Hi! I'm new to Lati too, just got my first ones this month! You can only order from Lati like 4 times a year I think, and they're only open for orders for a couple weeks.. The latest ordering period just ended this past week. I'm sure someone could tell you the exact months and whatnot better than I can, I'm still a newb and learning all this too! But you can find secondhand girls through the Marketplace if you have access, or there's a Yahoo Lati Adoption group of girls for sale! Good luck!

 

I know that the special ones are sold out. So the basic ones are closed now too? They don't say sold out on the basics.

 

Yeah all the ordering apparently closes down, even for the Basics that don't say sold out, you can only order anything during those specific times of year. Or so I've been told by a couple of people I'm sure someone who knows more can chime in and help me out with the specifics ?

 

No, they're still open for basics, as far as I know. My only suggestion would be to try paying via PayPal - you can still use your CC. Congratulations - Haru is adorable!

 

Yup, they open four or so times a year and you can order basics and limiteds during those times only. You can buy a doll during the rest of the year, but you have to buy head and body separately which costs more.

So girls, I hope I'm allowed to ask this here but has any one ever mixed and matches PKF bodies with the lati yellow heads !? My ruki is still missing a body.... so i figured.. either a PKF one or a basic Lati yellow one.. which I will have to home tan either way, which ever I choose... AHHH help meeee! Which would you sggest.. PKF or Lati ?! --I would have to wait on the lati one.. Sigh.. wish I could just find a tan body already !

 

Pay with paypal and you will be fine. I tried to use a credit card with Lati and had problems and now I click on paypal and pay that way with no problem. When you click the paypal button it will eventually take you to paypal. I think they would still take an order if you write to them on Q&A and tell them what you want. The basic dolls are still available so you should be able to just try again and pay with paypal.

Hmmm yeaah I caught a glimpse and was still not too convinced... hmmm.. and when I got home.. I attempted to switch my tan ruki head to my PKF's body.. and realised that it would all be a lot more tricky sighhhh.... plus you're right, the neck IS quite thin...
So I guess that's a no-no for a PKF tanned vampire! haha
With a lil bit of hope, I think I may just get a NS lati body... and home-tan it. Except for I won't receive it until some time in October Lets see what lati says....


Oh by the way.. I wrote to lati in regards to how we all feel towards those recent rude emails they've been receiving.. They wrote me back and said they were very appreciative of our support and that we cheer them up during those times Thought I would let you all know

 

I have done this a couple of times - it works fairly well as long as the hole in the lati head is not too big, which was the case with my mystic lami vamp:

Oh wow, did the head wobble about a bit ?? Also yeah I'm kinda confuse about how to swap the lati head to the pkf body.. because the lati body normally would have a ring... but the pkf body has a hook... :S Like how did you manage with removing the pkf backhead plate?? I'm kind of unsure about removing mine since i don't want to end up messing it all up !

No Lati order for me this time around...am happy watching everybody else's new arrivals...and, hmmm, not much dolly clothing budget at the moment, so I borrowed some clothes from some of the other dolls and Rue decided to go on a safari (or at least model safari clothing)



I found that Bratz tops, skirts and dresses work great on Latis and similar-sized BJDs - the glasses fit fine, too, and so do the caps on not-so-poufy wigs, such as this one.

 

Argh, I hadn't seen them but now I have... WANT. I really wish I had bought a full set Fairy Coco!

We had a small doll meet today (small number of people, 40+ dolls!) and I got the chance to take a pic of four of my dollies together, in four of the five skin tones I now own... They're so cute together!
