I am staying away from lati for now but will take a sneak peek next week at the new faceups, Oh and my new yellow body is on its way !!!

I ordered my tan oe Miel today with wig, was going to wait until Lati posted the new faceups (Miel, Momo) but thought that I could order basics anytime they are available but I can't order a tan vampire Miel so I went ahead & placed a 3rd order, did not do the combine shipping with the other 2 because the shipping would have been the same.

 

WOW!! I can't believe we are on thread 3. That's chatty lati people for you though.

And as far as if I order those I don't have, well I don't have a vampire Lea or Miel, so they are different, I also don't have any mystic Lea's or Miels... if we are talking skin tone, then I don't have either in Normal Skin, and that's where I'm getting squirrely because I would love to have Miel in both normal and tan, and in my head I still can't keep it stuck that I have a tanned pirate Miel on order. I know I have a Ruki and a Lea, but every time I see the vamp tan miel I keep saying, but that's my dream dolly, I think it's going back to flower garden Miel, who I am kicking myself continually for not ordering. HAHAHA

But I do have a tan pirate miel ordered.... I just keep looking at the pics and she doesn't look that dark, so it's making her in my mind so much more like the flower gardens... even though I know lati says they are darker.

Sigh, this is still the most entertaining decision I've had to make in many moons.

I hope everyone else can make up thier minds soon and order too!!!

This time was tough & when you order you can't order a tan Miel & then a ns Miel, the system doesn't allow that so I had to place 3 orders to get the 4 I wanted. I love Pirate Miel & tan Vampire Miel too, they will look different because of the faceup & fangs.
I wish I would have ordered more flower gardens, just got Cookie, that edition was truly special.

Good luck with the decision process zorropirate. I love the vampire ruki but he's a no for me as I've got pirate ruki on the way, but if you've got pirate Miel that makes it a tough one! I guess it depends on which one you prefer. You can always sell one once it arrives if you decide you have a preference. Mind you, it's hard to do that once they are in the house!

I love the flower garden Miel as well - I'm still hoping that they will release something similar to that series sometime soon.

Hi Dollightful, welcome back, yep we're on thread 3! Lati posted a message on their website that on July 5th the basics can be ordered & Miel & Momo basics will have new faceups! Maybe tan skin? Or just new faceups? You never know what Lati will do!

Are there many problems with the magnet parts? It seems like I have read here on DOA about magnets not being matched up right. Does that happen alot or rarely?
I hope it wouldn't happen to me.

I'm waiting for Lati to ship my basic Lea with premium face-up.

Dollightful, I've had a few with magnets but I've never had any problems with them. I do prefer strung hand and feet though, I think they look nicer / neater.

 

Yes, I picked all new bodies with magnetic parts & its true, my Lumi's feet had different magnets in them & the kitty feet I bought would not work on them, they did work on my Lea & that is who I bought them for anyway.
Bad news, the package I sent is lost, my buyer told me tonight it was another delivery notice she got, not mine so now tomorrow I have to go to my PO & start a trace. I want to know how a package with a address going to CA was redirected to OK & even OK can not find it. I'm glad it was insured, what a mess!

Did anyone see the new animal outfits on the Lati site? Does anyone know who the dolls are in the pig, bear & kitty outfits?
They are so cute! I think the doll in the piggy outfit is Belle. Not sure on the other 2.

Hi to all I have not been here for a long time. I have been too busy with things & a new puppy. Since people have been buying things on the Lati Doll Site I wanted to share what I hope will enlighten people to Lati Doll's new way of doing business.

Basically they are totally not shipping whole doll sets & marking them as shipped. They may actually send you a partial shipment of the wigs, etc. They then totally ignore your emails & Q/A board or may just say they are sorry & promise to send it in the next shipment but don't ship it then either.

You are just totally out the money at this point. It is too late to dispute with Paypal or your credit card company.
It is just gone!!!

If anyone has any ideas please share them with me. I just don't know what else to do.

Lol Maybe the third time is the charm.

Lati Doll once again is sorry, oh terribly sorry this time. I wonder who writes this stuff. They say that my dolls will really be shipped now. I guess that they were just having a little fun with me the last 2 times!!!

OMG I will probably order from them again if the dolls do come! I am really not wanting too but I so want a NS Mystic Lea!!!

 

I would still like to know & maybe others would too if anyone knows if there is anything that you can do if Lati Doll won't ship something and over 4 months has past?

So Cancel the Mystic head and give me back my Money ......OK ??? DURRR ???

Thanks everyone for the congrats on my Benny! I really do love her, and definitely recommend the new body to anybody who is still thinking about it!

I seem to have fairly good luck with Lati on my two orders, but I am scared to order any more because it just seems the more money you spend with them the worse they treat you.

 

cpl628da, it took Lati 5.5 months to ship my Lumi & I think her ws had something to do with the delay. You will receive what is missing, they just take their time sending it. I expect a very long wait on my pirates (watch them ship fast now that I've said that) being I've got a lot of memos in my 3 combined orders. With the new vampires I have no memos, no add ons, just combined 2 orders & did it myself.
Lati is going to have a lot of new vampire orders due to the low price, hopefully orders will go smoothly.
Thank you Jaffacake for identifying the animal outfit Latis, I love the piggy one & will order it later on, wish the kitty one was in a lighter color, they are all so cute.
I'm off to the PO now to try to straighten my missing package mess up, know I can't file for 21 days but they can start a trace. I can see the problem happened at a Tampa PO, after that the address changed to another state & zip code. I read on the Ebay boards that this can happen when a postal worker scans the package & inputs another number by mistake, the tracking number will show up the same in tracking search but it will go somewhere else.
SammieJay, I love it when Lati ships fast, I remember when you ordered Benny, she's so adorable congrats on her arrival.

they said they have refunded me and changed my order ..but so far no refund and no change ..Im half thinking just to tell them to leave well alone

I finally had the time to take photos of my mystic Lumis and linked them to latidoll's q&a

I'm really disappointed in the quality of my last two dolls, here are just their hands.
The arms don't stay straight properly, but that's probably a stringing issue and I'm getting the knees replaced, I can't do anything with their legs.

I don't expect that of basic dolls, let alone the full set vampire! The bumpy texture on their arms will probably be an easy fix with a nail buffer but the hands to me are just too extensive.

Also, the larger head holes for the head ring and carving the s hook opening of the strung hands too far in to me is just messy and careless.

I told lati I'm taking a big chance on my Pirates and if this is the quality I'm to exepct from now on I'm worried to ever order again.

 

that sucks my sheep extra hands were the same. i can't even get the s-hook in my cane hands so they've just sat in a box

 

!! I rushed to check my sheep hands again, the carving is deeper but the resin quality is far more superb, smooth. I'm sorry to hear about your sheep's hands. I still need to make s-hooks for my hands, but it's in the works.

btw i got my ws miel basic today and you dont belive....she have two diffrent eyes, one eyes hole is smaller than other.....i dont know what to do now i waited for this basic doll 3 moths....this is really joke!!!!! (( im sad ;(

I hope Lati replaces all of those parts & takes care of everyone who has missing items & damaged dolls.
My Lumi's left left loves to kick up & she has the new knee parts. I know she is strung too tight but I don't want to
mess with her.

Ewa, I'm sorry about your Miel, I don't understand how something like that could happen?? We aren't ordering kit dolls we need to sand and put together ourselves.

Lati seems to be self-destructing. They used to ship out all the previous orders before opening another ordering period. Now they have ordering periods more frequently and we are waiting longer for our dolls and one would expect higher quality dolls (with noproblems or missing items) with a longer wait, well that's logical, no?

 

Amanohara, I am now nervous about the dolls I have ordered, a total of 8 with pirates, basic & new vampires. I hope I get them all without any problems or missing items. What Lati sent you was not right, its good that you emailed them a photo so they can see their mistakes but they really should look over what they send out before they send it out.

 

I really want to get one of the new vamps or momo but Lati stresses me out too much >< I think I was very lucky to get two perfect dolls so maybe I will stick with just the two. Everytime I think about buying another one I check the thread and remember maybe I don't. The dolls are wonderful but I am not sure I want to give this company my money until they shape up.

Oh you are smart Matera. You are just able to put up with more than I am to get the dolls you want. I am sure it will all end up well in the end. I haven't heard of anyone who didn't eventually get their order straightened out. I am just too flakey to deal with my hobby stressing me out. I like lati better than fairyland most of the time but the quality and service from fairyland is so nice I am iclined to buy more there.

 

I like the way Fairyland ships so fast, never more than 40 days for me, never had a problem with them. I just feel bad for what has happened to our friends on here & hope Lati does follow through with what they have promised. You're not flakey, stress is not fun, especially when it deals with money being spent on something you look forward to & having that taken away.

 

Oh, I am sorry to hear what has been happening with Lati. Not good. Very stressful.
Too bad. I wanted to be happier that tonight I can finally order my tan oe Miel.
Maybe I should think on it a bit. I am prepared to wait, but it is not right to have a poor quality doll after paying soooo much for it.
Not sure if I should get magnet parts or not.
I do think they have specials and limited's way too often, too much before they get previous dolls shipped out.

 

I am in the same boat as you, Dollightful. I was sooo excited to order my Miels, but after reading this thread, I am not so sure about it anymore! It's a lot of money, and while the waiting doesn't bother me, the possibility of receiving poor quality items (or no items, as it would appear in some cases?) really puts me off. I am a high-anxiety person by nature, and worrying for five to six months about whether or not I will receive finished dolls is not something I'm sure I want to put myself through. As much as I love the Vamp Miels, this is really making me reconsider ordering.
I've never ordered from Lati before. Do you guys think it's worth it to go ahead, or should I hold off on the Lati dolls until they get things settled better?

 

oh wow, Zombor, that's a tuff question! i've ordered lots and LOTS of stuff from Lati and have only ever had minor issues (well, minor imo). some people are more or less sensitive about certain things.

i don't think people just don't get their stuff. sometimes it just takes a while, or has to be sent at a later time because Lati forgot to include it in the original shipment. the tan resin has been a major issue for some collectors. but personally, the marbling doesn't bother me so much. the other quality issues, i really haven't experienced so much.

i've found it impossible not to order

 

Is there ever marbling right on the front of a tan dolls face? Or is that not an issue.
So, all the dolls come with the new body as default?
Do the magnet hands work okay with all the hand stand poses or would they fall off?
Will the new vampires have a bunch of different hands to change like the Lumi and Lami ones? Does anyone know.

It spooks me a bit about Lati, but I think things will work out. I like their dolls alot. I have received a couple of beautiful ones.
I may wait a few days to really be sure, but I think I will still place an order. I still need to verify I can budget my Miel.

 

That's the thing, you see the dolls & they get to your heart & you want them. I have only had one problem with my girl Bayer coming with a boy's body & the long long wait on Lumi, nothing else so far & I'm grateful for that.
Remember Lati has already posted on April 3rd of this year:
"We would like to inform you that we changed our working hours to improve the quality of our products and services. We will do our best to safisfy our customers.

Let's all hope that they hold true to that.

Dollightful, the new body is now the default body, Lati posted photos showing poses with that new body, it really looks good.
I guess when Elena & Zorro are shipped we will all know if extra hands & feet come with them, the basics state at the bottom of
their pages what comes with them, one set for the new body, 2 sets for the old body.
I didn't know that my Lumi would come with extra hands/feet but she did & maybe the others will too, we'll find out in July.

 

I've only had one problem with with Lati concerning a basic doll. She had all kinds of stuff wrong and was unacceptable to me so I sent her head back and they promised to send me a new one. A week later, the exact damaged head arrives and all they did was slap a bit of lip colour to her mouth. NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT SHE HAD A CHUNK OF RESIN MISSING FROM HER EAR!!!! Needless to say I was pissed. I sent them another message saying they needed to fix it and fix it FAST. I was getting ready to re-send the damaged head and out of the blue another delivery from Lati! I'm not kidding when I say I closed my eyes while unwrapping the doll. I was terrified it was going to be worse than before since they didn't even wait for me to re-send head with instructions.

Anyway, my basic lea was perfect! Huge sigh of relief. I really do trust them to make things right, I just think along with the language barrier they are understaffed and overwhelmed. Clearly they need to hire more help! Just my two cents.

 

I think you hit the nail on the head Lazysunbather, understaffed & overwhelmed. Hopefully they will hire more help & cut back on ordering periods until they are all caught up. That is excellent news about your Lea, good to hear it all worked out & you didn't have to send that head back a 2nd time.

 

Matera, The problem with Lati's new schedule is it is 5 days a week. The old was 7 days a week and longer hours so how that would solve any problems I don't know. It seems like Lati needs to slow down catch up with their orders and then put out new dolls. I am very concerned with the new vamps. There are 10 different faces, 3 different colors, and two different bodies. It already seems to be a big problem just to order them. I think it is way too much to do at one time and also come out with new face ups on the basic dolls. Remember they are also getting ready for the big Hong Kong show. I think Lati has bitten (no vamp pun intended) off more than they can handle. I hope I am wrong but I was planning on ordering two basics and am rethinking it. I might just wait until the next sales period after all these vamps have been delivered. I hope I am wrong and everyone has their vamps by September.

 

That's true Saabira, they did cut back on their hours.
Maybe they plan on hiring more people to work on the new vamps because they are sure to sell more of them at the HK show.

 

I don't know what the company hierarchy is at Lati, but I almost am starting to imagine it as if there's a couple people at the top who are COMPLETELY detached from the creation aspect of the business. And perhaps they are like, "Oh, people want more options ... let's give them tons of options!" while those who actually make the dolls are thinking "Oh $%&*! This is NOT going to go well!" but cannot stop those in charge.

Let's hope I'm totally wrong and that things DO go well. I hope that the pirates and vamps ship soon. Especially the pirates. I was stupidly thinking they'd be here by now. WTF was I thinking? O_o

 

I think Lati is in a two steps forward, one step back position. After all, many of the options on the HK dolls were customer-driven. For a company to be so responsive to customer demand is amazing. But then again, their wait time is getting longer and longer, even longer than it used to be when everybody just accepted Lati's hella long wait time as a fact of life. For awhile there, they were cranking out dolls every 45-50 days, like the order page says. Lati's popularity has exploded in the last few years, and I still think the company (and its operations) really haven't been changed to reflect that fact.

I don't think the pressure that their customers are putting on them is helping at all, either. I've seen some people get downright nasty on the Q&A board! I think if Lati was just honest about their wait time, I think they'd have a lot more satisfied customers on their hands--and they wouldn't feel so pressured to get the dolls out, which would certainly result in less quality control issues.

 

Zombor, I have ordered from Lati many times and so far (touch wood) I have never had a single problem with any of my dolls (special and basic versions), or the level of customer service. I am a pretty picky person so I don't say that lightly.
I know that a lot of people do have problems and that's not good, but I would say the majority don't... they just don't go posting about it. So don't be scared to order, chances are your doll will arrive in perfect condition. Just be prepared for a long wait!

 

Just got my delivery note for the new body I'm very excited as it means I will get my vamps out more often: I can't stand that ridiculous floppy knee joint!

my order still stands the same ..and there has been no refund ...so I left a message clear and simple ...LEAVE MY ORDER ALONE

the way things are going I will be out of pocket and out of a head ..and I f the Mess up my Mystic Lea order by mistake ..I will kill something ...!

I will order a tan body from Jaime doll ...
and replace the hands like I normally do ......

I think with regards to the question and answer saga, I think they have a few people who answer the questions, some who know more than others, so sometimes they leave some questions to answer later. I asked them to confirm if they'd recieved my little Abeni (lati cat Coco) yet for her faceup renewal, and it wasn't answered until the next day where as other questions were. I think they just needed to find out.

I've not ever had *touch wood* any problems with Lati so far. They've always been kind, always answered questions...but I must admit, I am slightly nervous about ordering a vampire incase they send the wrong skintone. I have seen so many people saying their lumi/lami vampires have had the wrong skintone. It just seems a little strange. I do however have sympathy for Lati as some of the questions on the board are really rude. It can't be easy running a company like that, especially when English isn't the language you speak primarily.

However,
Here's one little Lati they made PERFECTLY!

I'm sure it really is understaffed and overwhelmed and wanting to make everyone happy. The language barrier too I'm sure is a huge issue, although I noticed in the last few months whomever is replying to the Q&A has a better grasp at the english language though, they even picked up on my strange humour in my notes.... I thought that was a good sign.

Anyhoo, I will be ordering 2 mystics... I think after comparing all of my yellows I've decided on Mystic Miel and Lea in Normal skin, with the old bodies so that I can have nose pickers still..... I think.... I've kept the skin tone conclusion for 2 days anyhow, so that's improvement. HAHAHah.

I spent all night thinking it over, and even had a dream about Lati dolls, haha. But I think I will go ahead and order the Miels, because I was already so excited about them. Hopefully it all works out. If not, I guess I won't be ordering from Lati anymore after this. ^^;
But as I said, I don't mind long waits. I am mostly concerned about quality.
This seems very reminiscent of Custom House's problems last year. I ordered a doll from them during that fiasco, and besides waiting quite a while for her to ship, she was fine. None of the major quality issues that others seemed to be having. So I am hoping this endeavor works out as well. Not just for me, but for everyone who orders. :3
