Latidoll Red Line boys Discussion

Hi guys, I'm trying to find a girlfriend for my boys (Lati M and K!) and I'm not really into Lati's Red girl...I wonder if any of you know how will Lati Red boys look with Supia girls? I know Supia has relatively small head but as we know, Lati's head are smal!

guys... have you noticed "preparing restock" on lati site? or it always been like this? I wish they have new body for them...

 

It's really too bad Lati is closing down the Red Line. :< I've always wanted a Red Line boy, but I was never able to catch them in "production season", so to speak. Not to mention I've heard some negative feedback regarding their wait times and service. I really hope that the Black Line offers a similar but improved alternative.

 

They're shutting it down, really? That's a shame! They've got some amazing dolls in Red line. I've always wanted to get more... And I still want a plush red line mascot...

 

I'm disappointed as well about their choice to discontinue the Red line. It is a very under appreciated line. The limited dolls they have released were always so well dressed! And I don't know if it was limited by their casting speed or what, but even the basics seem to sell out pretty fast once they did open up orders.

Ah... I don't know if I should be happy or sad that this already rare line is going to be come even more scarce. Although, if I'm not mistaken they did stop production once before, only to re-release them. They didn't have another line to replace the Red line, I don't think, so that might be a sign that its actually ending this time.

I've been very curious about their Black line, and am hoping its NOT going to be a 70cm doll line. I would be much more interested if they did 65cm dolls (like Iplehouse and Fairyland for instance). Scale wise, I think I would be pretty happy going up to 65cm and not be concerned with an unwanted size difference in photos with both the Red and Black. But that might just be me. If I knew they were 65cm, I might even buy one sight unseen... As far as I know they've not said anything... but maybe I'm just out of the loop.

 

I love my Lati Red Line M (Sylvian), it is very sad to know that will no longer be manufactured by Lati ... They know what they do.

 

I didn't hear about them closing down the Lati Red line. That's a shame. I did notice their upcoming lines, though. They have me curious that's for sure!

I'm so jealous of some of the Latis I see in this thread. They're so much better dressed than mine. Most likely because I'm perpetually broke. If I might ask, where do you guys like to get your wigs? And what size?

 

Hello Nicotine, have you tried Monique Wigs? The size is 8-9

 

There is no way these dolls are a size 8-9 wig. That's standard for SDs, sure, but Latis simply aren't as big in the head as other dolls in their size. My Lati SD boy can share wigs with my AOD MSD girl.

 

So you get more of a 7-8 usually?

 

I buy MSD sized wigs, and they fit well. The lati head shape isn't quite as round as most standard SD/MSD heads, so its not perfect, but its nothing a big of tape or a wigcap can't fix.

 

I'm disappointed the Red line is discontinued too and have been looking for information about the black line but can't find anything. Any news yet?

And goodness, he's very pretty. Depending on his size measurements, I think I may be in danger here.

Hello! Would like to ask for some head comparisons with other brand of SD heads out there (eg volks, luts, iplehouse etc.) I can't seem to find pictures of comparing the lati red head to other SD heads... I quite know that lati red heads are smaller than a default SD heads (wig caps ~8-9 or more) but I really can't picture how small the lati red head is when it is side by side to other bigger SD heads... Hoping for your help friends! Thank you very much!

I have an Elfdoll Yuan, and her head is nearly the same size, and the facial proportions are pretty close as well. The only issue with Elfdoll in general is the heads are by NO means the same size between different sculpts... so its something to look into. I think most other companies have a pretty standard head size though.

Volks SDGR body measurements are almost identical and anything made for SDGR should fit

 

Yep! SDGr outfits work really well on the red-line guys. Outfits sized specifically for long-legged Volks SD13s will work, too, but may be a bit loose. (Pants made for the standard-leg SD13 boy bod may be a hair short, too, but that's usually not TOO bad-)

 

These boys were always a bit underrated to me. They were probably the first BJDs that I truly fell in love with. I used to imagine stories for them while I was in college and even wrote a few. Fast forward an embarrassingly long time later and I am the proud owner of a Lati K, a Lati M, and a Lati L - and they FINALLY all have bodies. I even had a Nill head for a minute or so, but it just didn't have the same pull for me as the three basic sculpts. I love my boys - they're called the Krew and they get up to all kinds of nonsense.

I will post them as soon as Tory's (Lati M) ready. He's been the slowest. I'm waiting on the mohair to make his wig, and he's got a jumper and needs boxers and jeans.

Edison (Lati K) was my first doll, so he's got jeans and a jumper (I think he has boxers?) and his wig and eyes.

And finally, Alexi (Lati L) has his wig and eyes but is in his pants and I hope to make his jumper this weekend.

 

@Teruchan I definitely agree that they were underrated! I was so surprised and disappointed when Lati stopped making the SD and MSD sculpts, they’re beautiful and the texture of the resin was unique! I no longer own any Lati dolls but I used to have 3, a Lati red M, a blue Rucas, and a blue vampire Shaina. Over time I realized that SD size was just a little too big for me even though they have my favorite aesthetic and I never gave my boys enough attention. I couldn’t bear to see them go very far though because I really loved their faces... so now my mom and sister each own one of the boys!

congrats on getting all your boys bodies, I can’t wait to see them! This thread needs more action!

 

My first and only doll is a Lati K. I was a teen with no money and about to go to college when I got him. I ended up packing him up and never doing anything with him. Recently purchased my first sewing machine and I have pulled him out of storage.

 

@Nicotine Cyanide I got my K in uni as well! I was a freshman and he was my first doll too I'd ordered a Bobobie An to 'start small' but he took 6 months to come, and while I was waiting my Edison showed up on the market place here. At one point, I had gotten Tory's head too, and sold Ed's body so they were both just heads lol. Glad you've been able to pull yours out of storage!

@blackcat87 Thank you so much! I'm so excited to post them - but I still haven't completed the necessary sewing lol. I've been busy with work so things have just been shifted, but I hope to get back on top of it soon so I can share pics of them!

 

Resurrecting this to share that, after 13.5 years of owning him, I FINALLY got my M in a wig that fits him properly and is the right style He also looks great in his new Rusted Couture shirt, and now I just need some better pants for him since his default ones are starting to come apart after so many years.

Does anyone around here still have any of the Lati Reds? I so rarely see them around and would love to see some recent photos!

Congratulations on getting a suitable wig for your M, and also for resurrecting this thread! It's nice to have more Lati Red love here. I have two Ms, two Ks, a Chaim and a Nil; as soon as I get my fairly recent pics of my Red Line boys sorted and uploaded to my Flickr account, I'll post them.

'Know that feeling.... It took an age to find a wig that fit Marcus (my M). I swear they have the oddest-sized heads in the entire history of heads. <_<

But yeah. There are still a few of us around who have Lati guys.

I've found that most 7/8 wigs fit them, though it took me a while to figure that out and stop trying to make what was then the usual SD-size 8/9 wigs fit

Yeah I've found that the 7-8" ones I tried tend to be sliiightly too small, but wigs that are like exactly 8" or very close to it are perfect for mine. The 8-9" ones are often way too big, and it took me forever to actually think to measure his head xD

 

I'll have to take some new pictures if it ever stops raining. (As if. Seattle in the winter. *facepalms* ) Half of my guys have never been in front of a camera.

Does anyone have any pictures of their boys in SD17 clothes? I want to see what the fit is like before I commit to buying a coat I'm looking at that someone's selling.....
