Lati Yellow Discussion Part 26

Aww, I love to see all the cuties!!!
I need your advice everyone!! As some of you know me I decided to collect all the Sailor Moon characters as Lati Yellow girls. Recently I bought a Kuroo, who will be Haruka (Sailor Uranus), and a dark tan Kimmy who will be Sailor Pluto, and I have 3 characters left in my wishlist. Sailor Mercury (Amy), Mars (Rei) and Jupiter (Makoto).
I am very sure about Mars, I want a Jia for her character, I was thinking about Benny for Jupiter, and a Hani for Mercury.
But my friend told me Hani would be not good, so please help me with your opinions, I would really appreciate every comments!

Well, I don't know how you determine what the characters should look like (I'm not familiar with Sailor Moon) but how about Pero or Byurl? (You can see them in my picture above). Those two are very cute though I don't know if they look like Sailor Mercury is supposed to look like.

 

Pero would be a perfect boy, and he is very rare to be found. Byurl is similar to Cookie? I saw only a few Byurl I think, and I thought they are Cookie with different face up

The eye shape of Cookie and Byurl is about the same, but Cookie is serious and Byurl has a shy smile.

 

Hello everyone, I have a little question.
Are some of you still waiting for their Cinderella dolls?
I ordered 3 dolls on October 8, 2015 and I still have no news.

I'm pretty disappointed with the special Halloween dolls. For me they are ordinary and without fantasy. Why not the Frankstein creature, a mummy or a witch ?

 

Lati made Frankenstein's monster in 2013 and a mummy in 2010 and a witch also in 2010. I wonder if they are running out of ideas...
Or are they finally trying to get their act back together as they only released two dolls for Halloween and not a large group as earlier.

 

How do you sued them?

 

I'm not good at explaining it. Here's a short description of what the term means:

You can search the web with "sueding BJD" and you will find descriptions of the different methods. I used pliver because it is thin enough for these tiny dolls. There may be easier ways to do it.

 

Wow, those dolls suit the sailors really well! I really like your choice for Rei particularly; the face suits Rei perfectly.

This might be slightly off-topic, but I just received news from Lati about an order I placed back in March, and I'm so frustrated!

They informed me that my package was shipped on Oct. 25th, but they just received it back yesterday. They gave me the address they shipped to, and lo and behold, it is my old address! I moved out back in August. At the time of my order, I KNEW I would probably be moving before I even received my order, so I preemptively put down my friend's address. They probably shipped to my old address because I had cancelled an order due to selecting the wrong payment method and then placed my new order, and the cancelled order had my old address on it. I can understand how the error happened, but it is still an error on their part because my ACTUAL order had the shipping address I wanted. Now they're asking me to pay them $24 USD in shipping fees when I believe this was their mistake.

 

@mishi10345 That's terrible. I hope Lati do something! and I'm thinking of changing my order delivery address with Lati soon too. Hope this doesn't happen again.

 

Did you cancel the order or did Lati? If you cancelled and reordered then I would think it falls to you to check the address is correct on the new order too and so should pay for a re-delivery - however if the order was cancelled by Lati and re-processed by them ( and not changing the address) then they shouldn't ask you to pay again ...

 

I cancelled my order and then placed a new order. I put a different address (my friend's address) on the new order, and I expected them to ship there but they shipped to the address in the cancelled order. I would think that the company should ship to whatever address is in the order that actually went through?

EDIT: I just double-checked, and the tracking number they provided is attached to the new order (ie. the one with the address that I wanted them to ship to). That's why I'm confused. I'm assuming they checked the order information when they updated the tracking number, so they should have seen the correct address there and realized that it didn't match whatever was on the shipping label.

 

Definitely make sure you screenshot whatever forms of communication you have with them. Make sure that the order number is clearly stated, so that in the case of a dispute, you have proof that you gave them the right address. I hope nothing goes wrong though!

Oh, about my Sailors, yes, I am waiting for a second hand Benny, she will be Mako chan. My Melon (Neptune-elf Sophie) and Cherié (Chibi Chibi-Happy) are still with at Pearls of Danube. She promised to finish them before Christmas, but she doesn't answer any of my emails, messages... I am very sad about her behaviour, but I really hope she will write me, and she will finish my girls... next year

I'm brand new to Lati... I will be receiving my first girl, a basic Kuroo, very soon (she's on her way!) May I ask, where do you all find the beautiful wigs? And how do you choose for each doll? Thanks so much!!

 

Congrats to your first Lati Kuroo!
All the 5-6 inch size wigs fits to their heads. I recommend to use silicon cap under the wigs, you can find 5-6 inch sized silicon cap online. My favourite silicon cap is made by Luts, they are very strong caps. I have the cheaper ebay one too, but the Luts ones covering the head better for me.

For My Doll, Leekeworld, Luts make great fiber wigs, but you can also find cute wigs on ebay or on etsy too. Just search 'Lati Yellow wig'. Also there are dealers in europe and US who has some 'in stock' wigs too, so you will get them faster than from a Korean/Chinese company.
My favourite LY wig artist is SophyMolly (etsy) and AnnVoitovich (Dollaxy is her dealer), but those wigs are more expensive. My Sailor Moon wigs are from Sophy Molly. She can do anything from any photo/drawings.
Also check the secondary marketplace, you can find there cheaper, but still good quality wigs too.

I'm so excited, I will have a new Lati with me once I've paid off her layaway in a few months.
I appear to fall in and out of love with Latis! They were my first BJD and I ended up with four. I sold them all and now just have a Tinman Lea.

 

I saw Tinman Lea for the first time about three days ago... now she's my Grail Girl! Congrats.

 

Okay, hi! My Basic Kuroo arrived today and she's so pretty, but her eyes seem a little bit dark (sorry, I couldn't figure out how to embed my pic, but she's my profile image). Is it hard to change her eyes? What would you suggest?

Would maybe the right wig help to brighten her up?

 

I would choose a smaller eyes, my Kuroo has 12mm Oscar doll eyes. I would give to your Kuroo a 12mm (earlier I wrote 10mm, but I wanted to write 12mm so I corrected it here too) Mako eyes, they have gorgeous colours, and they have enough 'depth' to make tiny dolls like 'alive'. If this makes sense.
Search for Puma Noire on Flickr, and she had a Kuroo, check those photos for eye options.
Also I have really lot of wigs, I can make to you any comparison photos of any of my wigs, check my flickr too.

No, no I was wrong, so I would give to Kuroo and to Coco 12mm Mako eyes. (There are no 10mm Mako eyes, I had 12mm back then, I mistyped it sorry!!)

Do you girls know if Belle is better with 14mm or 12mm Mako's? Her eye openings are so large, but the 14mm seem to take up the entire eye.

I received my Lati White Snow White dwarf Bayer. Not sure if it's because I messaged them to ask when he would be shipped and I commented on the very long wait. About a week later he had shipped. LOL Now just have some months to wait for my Secret Garden Jia *sigh* Really hoping to not purchase from Lati again, the wait is horrendous.

 

Sorry for the possible obvious question, but as newbie who is desperate to get my Marketplace access, what is the current wait from Lati?

I'm new, too! Hiya! I know, the wait is crazy! But have you considered ordering from someplace like Doll Peddlar? They have some in stock...

I actually just placed my first order there. It was a Snow White preorder, so I'm waiting but at least it's already been 12 months since she was announced! Lol so hopefully not too much longer.

 

How are their prices? Limited dolls that are sold outside of Lati usually cost a fair bit more than what you would have paid buying them from Lati, due to the limited nature of the dolls. But then with Lati you have that long long wait. Do other places sell just the basic dolls?

 

I'm so new I had not heart of that store, thank you, I'm off to investigate now!

I really would like to start collecting Lati as soon as possible, I have admired them and so envious of every photo I see. I have looked at Fleurdelys, and there were some available last week but today the page is no longer available

There a few there that I really like, OMG I can't believe that I may have a Lati sooner than later!!

 

There is also a sales group on Flickr, but obvious be very careful on there and check people's feedback and how long they have had their account!

 

Also on Facebook there are several Lati Sales groups (Lati Market), several reliable sellers sells their dolls on those places.
I can only say good about Doll Peddlar. I bought several of my dolls from there, and they are real sweethearts.

I saw several nude Sophie Chu dolls on the Thai facebook group, so yes, they started to send the Red Riding hood event dolls.
The waiting time now for a normal doll is 6-9 months, and event doll is 11-13 months.

My first time trying to sew a bubble dress and lucky that it turns out very cute~ This outfit was inspired by the drama Descendants of the Sun (태양의 후예)

 

I finally received my Cinderella dolls. Customs agents were on strike and they took almost two months to release my dolls. Had to pay a huge fee to get them but they are so cute I have no complains. Terrible pictures of them. I got Happy (tan), Mystic Jia and S. Belle.

How do you like the tan skin on this release? I have become a little worried about it because of the previous peeling that others have experienced. Do you do anything "extra" to protect the faceup?
