And it was very easy for me to asked Lati for a private sale, once I figured out how their Q&A worked. Go to their Q&A and click the "Write" button at the lower right. Write something like, “Hi Lati, may I purchase a Lati Yellow Basic Berry in normal skin with makeup?” Keep in mind that they only offer Basics in "white" or "normal." I tried asking for Peach White, and they said no.

Also, when you post to the Q&A, it can be a little confusing at first - the password for the Q&A is different from your account password. Just type in an easy-to-remember password (it literally can be a short word, like "cats") and write it down (they cannot retrieve your Q&A password if you forget it).

When Lati responds to you, you’ll use that same password to view the response.

If you need to respond to a question they have, don't use that “Reply” button or the comment box below their message, because they won’t see your response. Instead, you'll have to create a new Q&A query to respond. So copy everything in their reply (including your first message), go back to the Q&A page, click that "Write" button again, and paste everything into the new query. Type your response above it. Use the same title as the previous query too.

If Berry is available for sale, they will make a special SKU just for you, and will send you a link in their response. Add it to your cart, and check out and pay with PayPal. Your order confirmation will not show up automatically in the Order List, so don’t panic.

This is where you will need to post a new message in the Q&A and say, “Hi Lati, I have paid for my Yellow Basic Berry through PayPal under (email address here).” Then they will update your order list to show confirmation of your order and its status.

After that, you will want to check your order status probably once a week or so - they shipped my G.Yuri only 3 weeks after ordering. So if Berry is available, you might receive her much sooner than you think!

Sorry for the long wall of text! I hope this wasn’t too confusing. Lol. It took me several days of trial and error to figure all of this out, so I hope this can save you some time and let you know what to expect.

Honestly I can't stop thinking about getting a new lea these days tooo~
Since I'm opening my world up to creating more faceups myself... I keep thinking how lea would be so perfect for so many of my designs
I may have to make a cute basic order from Lati ! If I request a premium faceup.. without gloss, it might provide an interesting base
I like doing that tooo~ I'm always kind of nervous though these days because.. I have to use alcohol on my hands.. when I take a girl with me, I kind of don't want to touch her incase I get it on the faceup *paranoid much? XD*
I think she's growing on me much more now I've adjusted her face a little ahahahaa~

Her dots are so large on the mouth right now, I wonder if it was better smaller~???? hmm any opinions would be helpful

There are so many new sweet moulds.. I'd say of the new ones: happy? or Sol?
For the oldschool Lati's ..definitely cookie~ her pouty little mouth and puffy cheeks melt my heart!!!

 

I’m pretty new to bjd so I don’t have opinions except she looks adorable to me and I love the creativity. A character face up beyond basic “makeup” color is an idea I have not explored much yet.

 

Here is my new surprise girl mystic Emily I have Mina here too but im waiting for her proper wig to come in cuz I don't like her with straight bangs. I have a hard time taking pics of mystic eyes so maybe in the future she will get modded larger eyes!

 

The mystic eyes are starting to grow on me. I’m looking forward to seeing your Mina.

 

I think the sculpts with mystic eyes are so adorable. I'm a sucker for dreamy boys and girls. I have found a little baby to come home but I'm already looking for a sister to accompany them. Ugh...so many cute choices.

 

I love mystic eyes in person but in photos I really struggle with it. It’s worth it to me to love a doll more in person tho

 

You are so right! ^__^ Most important is that you like the sculpt when you hold it in your hands.

I've spent the last week looking at nothing but Lati Yellow photos and I've really fallen in love with so many of them. They're so cute. Ugh...I think I'm going to save up.

In the meanwhile my preloved baby is currently making their way home. I look forward to seeing them.

Does anyone know how long waiting times for basics or body/heads are straight from Lati at the moment?

 

Hi Siara, it only took a month for me to receive my Lati Basic from them. I ordered February 4th, and received it in the first week of March. I think it was super quick because that doll was one they already had in storage. So they just had to give it a faceup before shipping to me.

That said, they’ll only take your order for a Basic if the doll is available. So if it’s something they’d have to cast (vs plucking out of storage) they will probably say no.

 

@Sheyda, thank you for your help, I ordered Berry. After writing them to let them know I paid what should I look for to see when it ships?

 

Yay!! I’m so glad that you were able to get a Berry! And no problem!

So after they update your Orderlist to show your order, it’ll say “Preparing items” under “Shipping Status.” When it has shipped, that’ll update to “Shipped,” and under “Packing Skip” you’ll see a tracking code like “EMS #########.”

So excited to see your new Berry!

 

It has consistently been a day between communication with Lati but now I understand how to use the Q&A board. I was confused at first because their reply was showing up under my post.

Eeep Emily is a dream ! I love the sparkles under her eyes~ ahhh~ I really wish I had some spare mystic girls if I'm honest.. I love the way the eyes look !! there's so many ways to be creative with them *o*

Something Ive been doing lately is creating little sculptures as a kind of art therapy to handle the stress of uni!
And they just so happen to be the perfect size for my Latis!!!
Are there any ways which you guys include your latis into art?^_^

I've been slowly working on a dollhouse for my Latis. I wired it up with working lights, gave it a varnished popsicle stick flooring, and painted it all up. The last thing I need to do is to apply and paint the shingles. I'm supposed to be getting a second dollhouse kit here in the new few weeks, so I should probably finish up this first one soon to clear my plate!

Oof, sorry I forgot to mention that the responses would be below your message! Glad you got it figured out though. And yeah, they’re quite slow to respond. It took me like a full week of back-and-forth communication to finally be able to make a purchase.

Are there any good places to get clothes for Lati yellow/Lati white? Not Etsy... I have been searching there for many months and I am not impressed. The stuff on Etsy looks so simple and not great. Facebook market has almost nothing that looks good... Anywhere else I can find cute, good quality, detailed clothes?

 

I found a couple things on Etsy but they are in Thailand or Russia so they are taking awhile. So I went on Facebook and Instagram and searched Lati Yellow, then go to photos that have the look I’m trying to find. Sometimes you get lucky and they are either a seamstress that takes custom orders or they will put a link to where the outfit came from.

 

I adore your Opal, @stargirl. She's so unique. Love her little bunny sculpture as well. I really wanted to get into sculpting clay items for my tinies but free time is scarce.

@NineOneThree Oh my! That's a gorgeous little prop for Mina. She looks right at home on her little horse.

I've welcomed a little one home and I'm pretty smitten. Not sure what name they'll be carrying yet as we haven't had much time to bond yet. Excuse the messy wig please~!



I've also fallen head over heels for Hana. That little surprised face is too cute for words. Someday I might add her to the family as well. I've taken a liking to most Lati sculpts which is a nightmare. They're so expensive. Poor Wallet-kun.

Oof, yeah, looking through Etsy is a little like finding a needle in a haystack. I did manage to find one seamstress who makes nicely detailed little outfits that are well-fitted. She uses nice quality, fine laces and fabrics that don’t look bulky on a tiny doll. Dresses are in the $50-80 range and come with lots of pieces (lacy pannier, stockings, headband, etc). Her username is KingWDoll on Etsy, and she’s USA based. I received my made-to-order dress only 2 weeks after ordering.

Most other Lati clothes seamstresses are going to be found on Instagram. Some only sell within their country (like Princess_bonetta, in Thailand), and others are so popular that any outfit they put for sale on Instagram gets bought up within hours. So you have to be quite fast! Lol.

Some Instagram Lati clothes sellers that I’ve found are Dannydaf and Natadollclo. I haven’t bought from them yet, but their outfits are cute!

 

Try clear-lan.com for nice made to order clothes. Ylanggarden and kellyknotty on Etsy also make lovely clothes!

Yes they are, they have styles that you don’t find often in that size.

actually I'm in the same boat but I found that this clay is really easy to work with, I study full time so I'm at my desk from 9am until 9pm(sometimes 10) with one hour break to make lunch ...which is NOT ideal but it's the reality of my atrocious university lol ! anyway, I take 5 minute breaks here and there between sections of study or topics: in order to process I have to do nothing so reading or watching something is a nono: tada! clay(aka art therapy~) is the solution. I make these in those little 5 minute breaks and it works really well ^_^!! (and also why they're messy :P) so by the time I have finally made dinner, putting them in the still warm oven to bake is nice and easy too ! the next day I spend my 5 minute breaks painting them ^^

I've been thinking about this too lately.. I'm trying to find cute clothes and hats for my girls to update their looks.. but I can't find any good quality items, and I am no longer happy to pay extortionate prices given that I now know what effort it takes to make clothes for these dolls, it's some effort, but not an extreme amount to justify $80 for a dress lol !
The only person I know of now who still makes dresses is my friend Ams, but I don't know that she's making lati clothes right now. Still if anyone wants her DoA link I can inbox you (we're not meant to post links here I believe)
there used to be people in the hobby who made beautiful hats and reasonably priced too! as well as little cute outfits and they would sometimes do customs.. but they've all disappeared ! if anyone finds any and decides to post them to the Lati resource threads in here, please tag me D:!

$80? That's not as bad as I have seen if it is very cute and high quality, I keep seeing people charge $150+ for a Lati yellow dress and the detail is not even that extraordinary -_-

 

sigh, impossible to find cute clothes for my girls.. If anyone knows a BJD seamstress who accepts custom orders for cutesy clothes in small size, please message me.

I remember several years ago (before I even had a BJD and was just dreaming that one day I could get a Lati), there seemed to be so many people making things for Lati that were actually nice. Many years later, now that I have finally gotten Latis, I can't find any!

 

Does anyone know how long a package stays in customs when mailed from Lati to the USA?

 

I have a question about eyes. I read Lati uses 14mm but doll peddlar where I got Mina says Lati Yellow takes 12mm and I think mine came with 14. I think smaller ones would look more realistic but will they have gaps on the side? Does anyone have any pictures available of the difference between 12 and 14 on Lati Yellow?

 

It depends on the actual mold. I have not noticed any gaps but some eye shapes look better with 12 mm eyes, some with 14 mm eyes. If the eyes are narrower, 12 mm eyes tend to look better, but if the eyes are rounder, 12 mm eyes may look too surprised. Also eyes made by different manufacturers also differ a lot, so one can never be 100 % sure without actually trying the eyes on the doll to see how they look.

 

My mina is wearing 12mm, I think 14mm is better for her. It’s a little too small for my taste (atleast enchanted doll brand). You can see her on Instagram, I think you follow me @dolls.by.a

 

It would be easier if all 12mm were the same but I suspected this would be the case. I guess I could eventually pass on or sell the ones that don’t work.

I do follow you and was wondering what size her eyes are. I love the wig and eye color you chose for her!

 

Anyone know if "peach white" skin is more like the old normal skin color or more like white skin? Any comparison photos?

 

It's definitely more like the old normal skin. It's quite dark and not white at all. But it is way more pinky than the old normal skin, which used to be much more yellow. White has always been super white. It's definitely not like white at all. I'd say it's closer to normal skin but it's different than both. If you are expecting white skin, do NOT get peach white. If you are expecting a pinky normal skin, then peach white is for you.

I’m still waiting on Berry. I think the latest pre-order might have interrupted any basic orders, I was hoping I’d get lucky but that’s not my general experience in life, lol! Every new owner picture I see of the sculpt helps though, she’s so cute! Maybe working on new pictures of Mina will help distract me. Is anyone else waiting on Lati Yellows?

 

Yeah, I’m still waiting on my Gyuri. >.< Fingers crossed they’ll ship our Latis soon! I’ll give them another 2 months before I ask about my order status. I just hope it doesn’t take 6+ months!

What helps to distract me from the wait is to work on little dioramas and dollhouses to get some cute photoshoot scenes ready for the Latis!

Does anyone know how long it takes Lati to ship? I thought I'd ordered only four or five months ago, but it turns out it was November last year. And now it's too late to open a PayPal dispute.

I ordered two bodies, but so far haven't heard from Lati at all... Do they normally reply to e-mails? I'm hoping this is just a misunderstanding, but I'm getting a bit worried.

 

I ordered my lati doll in October 2020. 5 1/2 months later I filed a dispute with PayPal. I received my doll three weeks after putting in the dispute with PayPal. The date the doll was made was two days after I file the dispute. I hope you have better luck with them than I did. Once I filed a dispute they offered me $1.00 to drop my dispute as a refund. Of course I didn’t do that.

 

Yikes!!! This is why I can’t order directly from them. I can’t deal with a company that takes longer than the 6 month PayPal window

 

Ugh. I wish I had remembered in time to file a dispute - I honestly thought it had been 5 months, and I missed my window by a week... So they really don't have any incentive at all to send me my order...
I did contact them through PP, so I can only hope they will react even if they don't really have an incentive.

 

right now seems to be 6/7 months long I waited then got my order. I used to wait over a year so the 6/7 months is improvement for me. I still have 2 more orders I am waiting but it will arrive before the end of this year.

 

I wouldn’t give up hope. I believe you will still get it. You can message Lati on their website, they will respond but it takes a few days for them to answer and you have to keep checking the post.

 

It’s better to contact them on the Q/A board. They will answer separately on the board after a full day or two. Their replies say hello, this is Lati in the title and usually shows up under yours. You have to click on it and put in the password you used to write to them. If the password doesn’t work then the message is not yours. You can look next to yours and see if it has been read, if it has then look for a reply. Sometimes you have to try to open several from them to find yours but it will have a date close to your first message. If you want to reply back copy the entire conversation into a new message, reply at the top and make sure title says the same thing. Sorry that’s a lot but I tried to remember everything I learned about contacting them that way.

I am a newbie in this forum and I just posted my introduction today. I would like to present to you my two Lati Yellow Dolls: Magical Lati Jenny Tan and Basic Lati Elly. I had Jenny for about two years now and I have received Elly yesterday! I got them both from the Doll Peddlar because I didn't want to wait too long and also I don't know how to pre-order them! I am so excited about joining this forum and posting about these two new dolls and I can't wait to get them dressed up and installed in their new home.
