Dear Gathephaar, I found you! I do see some cute items. I am waiting until after the New Year to order things online. The mail system is really not the best in the US right now, as you may have heard. I sent a Priority letter to a friend two states away at the beginning of November. She still has not received it. Hii everyone i’m very new to the forum. I have my lati yellow lea 8 years ago. And i fell in love instantly but only until last year I decide to really focusing on collecting latis. Especially during this pandemic time. It really helps me to keep myself sane and happy lol.
Anyway i’m just wondering can anyone share me a nice face up artist that works well with lati yellow? I saw many bjds artists but mostly they work with bigger bjds. I’m totally clueless Thank you so much..

 

Oh and one more thing, i’m in search for a cat lea and also a lea custom by vainilladolly. If anyone wants to rehome theirs please let me know. So hard to find, been searching for them everywhere..

 

As Adobe Flash player has been blocked, Lati web site does not work properly any more. Does anybody know if they have a new site?

 

I don't think they do. >.< I've noticed that they're still doing events on their now-broken website though.

On a notice posting in January of last year, they wrote:

"Hello This is Lati,
In celebration of Lati website renewal, we’re planning to open new version of Basic doll costume and make-up. (Website renewal schedule is after May, however exact date is not determined yet and can be changed.)
Before renewal, we’re opening our current ver. Basic Lati dolls, which is your last opportunity to get them!
Don’t miss this opportunity and hope full support from all of you."

So it looks like they were overdue for a website (and Basics) update since last Spring... I understand that COVID disrupted things for them quite a bit, but they better get hustling on that website renewal, with Flash being gone and all, lol.

And does anyone know the last time Lati opened Basics orders? I've been checking every day for the past 6 months, and still haven't seen it open.

 

Every time I would try to access the website my virus protection would pop up saying that it is a Trojan site and not to continue. Then it would contain the virus and I would have to get rid of it manually. Such a pain!

 

I don’t remember ever seeing basic orders opening at all this year I’m a little tired of the “special” releases with just 1 or 2 dolls available. I miss the big events with fancy outfits and 6-7 characters

 

Oh no!! Glad you were able to get your computer cleaned out. I guess I should really be more careful visiting their site! It's crazy to me that Lati is still able to even keep their business running when their website is spreading viruses... Ugh.

That's been really annoying me too! I wonder if they're only releasing a couple dolls at a time to make it easier on the manufacturing end of things? Like, maybe the factories where they cast the dolls are limited on the number of molds they can handle right now. I'm hoping it's just a temporary thing they're doing because of COVID, and not something permanent. I'm a little worried that I'll never get a chance to order a G.Yuri.

 

I tried asking about them restocking on their Q&A board, but I can't read their response. I get a message saying password verification does not match.

 

Here are some old Lati molds (Lumi, Miel, Coco). Lati does not seem to be making any new special releases using the oldest molds any more. I wonder if it is because the Chinese are selling cheap recasts of all the older molds.

Ok, so I asked Lati about Basics, and this is what they said:

So it looks like we might be able to request a Basic? Wish there was a more concrete answer. Ugh.

 

I wonder if i should also request some basic I want and hope they will reply yah we can get those for you done now LOL.

 

I have good news! I asked Lati if I could purchase a G.Yuri, and they said yes and made a private sale for me! I think it might've been one they already had in stock? Because after my payment was confirmed, they said they were preparing my doll for shipment!

So yeah, you should definitely ask them if you have a specific doll in mind! Make sure to specify resin color and makeup too.

 

oh that is great, but i will need to save some so hoping March I can make a request. I am wanting a lati white. TY

Anyway this is my alice series latis. They just came this week, the waiting time is not so bad only about 7 months i believe...

Do the basic dolls also come with the tan skin option!

I also wonder why the latis are not as popular as they used to be. Only in some asian countries (thailand is the biggest consumer i believe). Is it maybe the waiting time is unbelievable long so it turns people off?

I was wondering that too! I've noticed that they seem somewhat popular in Russia too. Probably not as popular as in Thailand though. And I imagine the long wait-times are a big turnoff for many - just having to wait for the ordering period to even open is insane! Plus, their web UI is so outdated and sketchy. Some here have even said that the website gave their computer viruses. It's part of the reason why I bought my first Lati from Doll Peddlar.

Have you purchased any dolls directly from Lati before? I've heard that they don't give shipping notifications or tracking numbers... I'm a little worried about not knowing where my doll is, or when to expect her.

 

I stopped buying dolls from Lati when their waiting times became a year. That's way too long. I have heard that it has improved a little now. And I don't like their new basic skin color, it's too pink. I also liked better the older molds and face ups than the present ones. Fortunately I have a large collection of the older Latis from 2007 - 2017. Lati did give tracking numbers, but no shipping notifications, so one had to keep polling their web site to see when the dolls were shipped. I still keep looking at their new releases just in case they release something that I just can't resist. That has not happened since I got Tarzan (Benny mold) from 2017, though.

 

Lati send me an email saying ship and a tracking number is given. Took 6 months or so every time now.

I still buy from Lati but I am more selective now, I don't like the old mold so sold alot back then and kept only a few. I like the new skin color more than the older version so reason why I still buy. But I don't like to buy same mold twice so always looking for new face mold from Lati. I actually like the pinky/peachy normal skin now its soo pretty. The older normal skin I don't like it and looks very odd (my older lati) so I like to play with my newer lati more than older one.

As for popularity now, I find that there is lots of companies now than back then, so its hard to only collect lati when there is lots of cute tiny out there. eg. chicabi , dollvillage, ttya, petite jiwoo, mudoll, dollmore , luts (some of my favorites)

 

I agree I love the new normal skin. It’s so pretty and peachy. Don’t like the old one at all!
But I would rather get a basic doll in normal skin. I wouldnt pay extra for a “limited” faceup since I like to get new ones anyways

 

Ahh yes you’re right!! Many from russia still collect latis. They also make the best dresses and Alpaca wig too right
It’s very reasonable..waiting for a doll for like 6 months the fastest is like a big turn off. Pity lati should lost many market in several countries. I prefer buying latis from the secondary market or like you dollpeddlar too, eventhough sometimes still couldn’t resist buying from lati too

Agreed!! The waiting time is a total turn off!! I love latis even the newer molds, but my all time fave would always and ALWAYS be lea. I collect her the most and also treasure her the most lol.

So your latis have a custom face up? Do you know which artists are good with latis yellow? I used to adore andreja and haru back then. But they seemed that they didn’t do face up commision anymore

 

I like some of the limited dolls, if the outfit and make up is good i buy fullset Sometimes I find its cheaper to buy fullset than looking around to buy dress, shoes, wig so if lati have one that i like fullset i rather buy fullset.

I like variety in my collection so i search other doll companies to see if there is any sculpts that i like. So far the ones i listed I love the small dolls they made, soo cute. I also love darak, pocket fairy , rosenlied etc, i listed all my doll in my flickr account

 

It's hard to choose which Lati dolls I like the best, but I think my favorite molds are Miel, Benny, Laches, Haru and Sophie.

i better check those other dolls apart from latis. I love small dolls because they’re so easy to carry around. I love taking my dolls out with me lol.

My all time fave ever is lea..and then follow by s belle, hana and sophie. But i love most latis mold. I remembered that lea was a big hit back then. Thesedays not many into lea anymore i believe..

 

Ohh may i know the best way to store your latis dolls? I put mine inside the glass cabinet because i LOVE staring at them. I put silica gel inside too to avoid humidity. May i know how you store your latis? Thank you so much.

 

I just keep my Latis (and other BJDs) on my bookshelf shelves because I like seeing them all the time. No glass or humidity control but humidity does not seem to be a problem over here. The oldest ones have yellowed a bit, but they have also yellowed in the areas covered by clothes, so it is not just because of light. And the bookshelves are far from windows.

I know the instructions tell to keep the dolls in boxes in dark places with silica gel to absorb humidity, but it is no fun to take them out only rarely to look at them.

 

So hard to choose I like Jenny, Hana , Cherry, Noa, and so many more LOL. These dolls are made to be taken out of box to look, dress, and carry around. So yah its no fun if kept in box all the time. I don't even wear glove like I have seen some people on videos. I buy dolls not bec. of reselling at high price or worried that value will go down. I buy bec. I love collecting them and makes me very happy. I don't collect anything else other than dolls and have no other interest. I think been collecting for over 15 years now and so far i have not lost any interest.

I have doll houses and they stay inside away from sunlight and dust. Like this one Wooden Dolls Houses & Accessories – Le Toy Van Europe and I have about 2-3 on my desk which I often rotate with the ones in the dollhouse. Also I have one small glass cabinet bec. beginning to have no room in the dollhouses. I love small dolls because easy to store and carry also.

 

It seems to me that the Lati dolls are not quite so easily damaged as the manufacturers claim. They just want to make sure that people don't start to complain about damages when they tell people to keep the dolls in dark places away from moisture. I've taken my dolls out a lot without any ill effects:

Soo cute, love the pic , they are very durable, I don't take my dolls outside but i carry one around the house but always have a few on my desk. I have one or two fall down to the floor but nothing happen to the face up (knock on wood). I don't do face up so my worst nightmare would be face up chipping off.

Wow it means they are ok to be storaged in an open area. I agree with you..it’s best to keep our dolls where we could see them all the time because they are such eyecandies

Put these babies inside the dollhouse seems like a great idea too. I also have a custom dollhouse in my home. Play with the dolls a lot too inside the dollhouse but after that i put the dolls back into my glass cabinet lol. And everyday i have to carry at least one of my doll around the house. Feeling kind of weird if i don’t take at least one of my doll whenever i do things in my house lol.

Some latis seems more fragile than others. I have no idea about it but it happened to me. Once i dropped my sissi and she just fell on the floor while i was taking pics of her, and there she got her nose bumped.not bad but you can see it for sure. While my other latis i dropped some of them and they were just fine. But one thing for sure their face up bothering me. Whenever i put an alpaca wig on them, it always always stick to their lips and make their face lips scruffed a bit. So that is why now whenever i got new latis i would apply extra gloss on their lips. Have no trouble afterwards putting on alpacs wigs on them.

My worst nightmare tooo if my girls have face up chipping off..lol same here. Always take my doll around the house with me. Even when i go outside to the mall or something i have to bring one with me if i happen to bring a bigger bag lol.

Actually I display my forever dolls ! and the one that yellowed is my DC white tone girl, it happened very fast ! because of the sunlight lol oops ! it was mostly on her not the others so I was lucky !!!
I moved them after I saw she yellowed, and Heartly Joycelyn etc didn't yellow at all since being away from the sun !!! my DC girl didn't grow more yellow either ! my rooms VERY warm but not very humid ! so those girls sit in the shade/indirect sun now and they're a-OK

I wanted to ask you guys a question~~ is there a tan Luna ?! did I miss a tan Luna release? in Lati's website it's hard to navigate now, and I can't find it? was that just another gift head or a whole release??? :O I have a NS luna *optional* head from Lati haha ! but I never saw the tan before I think !

 

There are at least two releases of Tan Luna:
- Return of the fairy from ::: LATIDOLL :::
- Cinderella wicked sister from 2015 ::: LATIDOLL :::

 

There was also a tan Luna option from the most recent Alice release

 

I forgot that the grey Cheshire Cat Luna was also available in tan skin.

Aww a tan luna would be cute dear...And the alice series are pretty amazing. They did quite a good job, except for elly too heavy face up in my opnion.
Yess i couldn’t wait for my lea (from yours) to arrive. Since i collect lea the most, She would have many twins sisters when she arrives lol

 

Right?! haha it's kind of funny, I remember the original alice release and people mostly seemed not to like her strong faceup then either ! but I think it's so nostalgic now so I like it a lot more~ aha !

I also wondered~ when I got the first Luna head option with (I think it was the marshmallow release? the first one with a pink Sophie !) a release before, lati didn't give me a certificate for her I think.. (I'd have to check but I'm 98% sure??? and I don't remember if this was just regular lati doings?)
I'm curious if now they do give certificates? for the extra option heads? it seems like soooo much has changed with lati SO quickly, I feel a little left behind haha

Yeahh and until now i still don’t like the heavy make up on elly alice the series lol. I received my lara from alice the series, she is the event head and i did received a certificate of her. But i bought crystal event head from the secondhand market and it was told that she didn’t have a cerrificate since she was an event head. So that was pretty confusing,
Once a doll lover, you would always would be lol so it was nice to come back and collect few things. Even enjoying the newest amazing dollies pics are enjoyable for me even though i don’t own them (talking about the big head eyes doll here )

 

I think it takes some special styling but with Lati in general~ I always find myself wishing for more blush !! I really love the unique faces, and that we can be so creative with them !
I guess perhaps Lati decided to make certificates for the extra head options now maybe! I'm a little jealous of it /)(\! I looked, my extra option heads have no certificate! I'm glad if they're changing it !

Yeshhh though i’m an all sucker for lea but still couldn’t help falling for those new cute tiny lil faces lol. Moreover everytime i go out i love to bring at least 1 baby with me. And these babies are so handy, so easy to carry because of their size..
