I recently got myself a small, low-powered laser cutter and have had a lot of success with it for fabric, but I also discovered that it's capable of cutting 3mm wood! I've got a couple of 1/4 dolls who have five pairs of shoes between them and I already have plans for more, and I didn't love storing them in a cigar box, so I made something for them! It only comes up to about their hips, but for my purposes it's plenty. I'm at a very budget level so while the soot and rough edges don't particularly bother me, I'm not a huge fan of the finger joins showing so I'd like to give it a bit of a finish. I want to see if i can find cardstock or something similar with a wood grain finish to it that i can stick on over each face. The shelf's cut plans came from boxes.py, but i had to modify the holes in the supports to add extra play and i didn't quite get it right this go around but it was enough to get the joins glued in place, so I may try to give it another shot. That said, I have other pieces of furniture and storage solutions that I want to try to make as well!
