Wow, LLT sent my Neil and Edria out at the same time. I didn't expect either of them this soon.

I'm smitten, especially with Neil. His features are really lovely in person and the precise headcap fit is really impressive. Between how thin the line is and how tired I am, I totally forgot I could pop his head open.

 

How did you know the GDSK would hold my Neil hostage? xD I've never had to deal with them before and I am so confused. So I just pay the fee? Do I try to declare myself?

 

My neil is out for delivery!!

My Neil (white skin) arrived a few days ago and the fits on a 5th motif Timeless body (Fresh) effortlessly than I expected!
To be honest, for his neck you might need to choose clothing to look good.

I also put him on a SID that works well, too but personally preferring him on a taller/bigger body like the timeless one.
You can refer his whole body (sitting) on my Flickr.
His head has not be on EID or ID72 yet as the both bodies are in darker skins.

Please excuse his face up is not completed yet ( no eyelashes ) though.

 

Well, it happens mostly with stuff coming from China, where LLT is located so I guessed they'd intercept your Neil, too. As for dealing with them - you can either bite the bullet and pay their fees or you can tell them you're gonna declare the head yourself. I usually declare my stuff myself because I'll still have to pay customs and I'm too cheap to cough up the fee for GDSK. It's quite some paperwork, though. You'll have to fill out the online customs declaration (there's tutorials online how to do it) and then, print it and send it to customs in Frankfurt together with a printout of the PayPal bill.

 

Lol I feel like I've been cursed lolol. I've ordered a lot of dolls and I've never once had to deal with GDSK, rather customs in Leipzig or my local Zoll. Never GDSK and I've ordered dolls from china before and had to pay customs. Usually everything comes in through Leipzig, or if there are customs on things coming from Frankfurt, they forward the parcel to my local Zoll office.
I paid the money because it seemed really confusing to declared myself.

My Ludwig is still in Shanghai waiting for a plane, I guess. I resorted to text updates so I wouldn't keep obsessing on track-trace.

Forgot to mention; my Neil came as a second hand in a almost new condition from Taiwan with certificate.

 

I can't wait to see some Ludwigs, I missed his order period so I'm hoping to grab him during the next one!

That's what I was also wondering then saw an another collector already showing his/her Neil with face up on Instagram. Presumably they were the first Lot or some sort of prototype? My one was made end of November 2016 with serial number 14.

Sorry, I deleted a picture in my previous post, where I was not sure wether this red box was originally belonged to my Neil or not, so post it again then. When I got my Lazuli head directly from LLT, it was put in an ordinary carton box.

 

I started work on my Neil today, don't know if I'll have time to finish him tomorrow, but he's going really good so far. Such an amazing sculpt to work on! His faceup in his promo shots are why I fell in love with him, so I'm trying to do something similar to that.

 

Wow, these Neils are looking beautiful! Really love the fancy box too, that's definitely the nicest box for just a head that I've seen.

oh hush you, lol. but thanks! i still love the promo pics a ton, but after draping some hair around his head, i'm really happy with the faceup i gave him because he really looks like how i envisioned his character. yay!

@AubreyMeeksArt I've been reading through this thread and I was just wondering if you received your Neil and had a chance to try him on the Ringdoll RGM03 body? I'm hoping to order a Neil head soon and would love to put him on that body if it will work. Thank you!

My Ludwig is temporarily dressed and whatnot, so here is a quick phone pic.

My Soom Deneb on the far right used to be my tallest doll, but now Daniel dwarfs everyone! That's a Volks SD13 on the left and a Volks SD17 in front.

I bought Iplehouse HID clothing for him, which turned out to be too baggy up top. The shoe length is good and the pants are big enough for his waist hips and thighs, at least! Incoming EID clothes will give me more options.

Temp wig is from Switch and eyes are 14mm DollsheCraft.

 

Say, I was thinking about making a Red Dove hybrid and was wondering about resin. I heard that Volks matches? I was deciding between Doll Leaves and Guu Doll, and Guu Doll says that they match Volks. Also, I was hoping for white skin, but normal matches are alright too.

 

@iamkathybrown NS does still match Volks. In the photo just above, you'll see my NS Ludwig next to Switch and Volks NS. My partner has her NS Red Dove on an old Aria NS body and it's a perfect match. I don't have the types you mention, but anything that is said to match Volks will likely be close enough.

 

Hey! does anyone who has already got their Neil know what eye size fits best? I know LLT suggested 12-14mm, but I was hoping someone may have found which size fits in the socket and looks good.

I don't know what his name is but I am already 100% sure I am getting him xD She said she wants him to be available in about two months

 

I have 14mm small iris eyes in him and they fit perfectly

 

She has him hash tagged as Black Pearl, which I think was a sculpt she'd done for school back in the early days of her working on Ludwig. It's possible this is an updated version.

 

I currently just have some cheap round glass 12mm in mine. I did try some dollbakery 12mm ones in him and they fit much better because the whites are larger and more flat than these round eyes. I plan on getting him some small iris dollbakery 12mm for a realistic look, as I feel that the irises in 12mm eyes seem too big still.

Still waiting for shipping confirmation, but I guess it's just matter of time.

 

Yup, she wrote on Facebook that it's an updated version of her Black Pearl. Also, that he'll only be available as full doll. Which is really too bad because that means I won't be able to get him cos due to the Volks Cruise and finally getting my grail Williams I won't have any money available for yet another expensive doll. And no more space for one, either. Maybe I should have passed on Ludwig/Ahaz after all ...

 

That is too bad. Unless someone is interested in a split, I probably won't be getting him either. That's a shame.

 

Sorry for the noob question but does LLT provide tan skin option? And how much time does it take to make and ship the full doll? I've heard that they ship twice in a year and that sounds scary...

They offer in tan, and when I ordered my Neil, I think he was shipped in three weeks? Maybe I'm exaggerating but It was lightning fast.

You're welcome! The 12mm round eyes I have in him gap a bit, but its because of the round shape I think. Dollbakery is more flat and spread out.

Thanks for the pictures -- I see what you mean though, but I agree with you on dollbakery eyes being flatter. Do you think the low dome option would help with gapping?

Also, your Neil is handsome! You did an amazing job on his face up, so much warmth.


Another question regarding Neil -- has anyone tried putting him on an Iplehouse E.I.D or S.I.D body? That was another body option listed but I know they have the flared neck shape which makes it difficult to hybrid. Photos for proportions and resin matched would be awesome if anyone has the time.

If anyone out there has a Ludwig head, could I ask you to take a picture for me? I'm wanting to make him the partner of one of my other dolls who has odd features, and I want to see how they'd look together via profile. If you have a Ludwig, I need a profile picture of him with a standard ruler (like a wooden one) in front of his nose, ie, the edge of the ruler touching the tip of his nose. I think I should be able to compare that way...

I just noticed that Red Dove is sold out. Are they gone for good? I hadn't thought he might be limited.

 

For people wondering what body to get for Neil this is how he looks on Granado Embody in Normal Skin.

 

I'm not sure if they are away, or the shop is closed right now, but all the dolls say $999 or $9,999. I'm just guessing, I hope they haven't stopped selling them.

On a side note, I have my Neil. I'll be doing his face up, and wig, and someday, hopefully, he'll have a body. I'm not sure which one. I like him on the Idealian72 or something from Dollshe but I don't think they'll match his resin.

 

Have you looked on their new site? They have a few heads still in stock there with the correct prices and such. There should be link there from their old weebly website.
