Yes! A marble statue! That's exactly one of the reasons that I looooove white resin so much.
They actually just posted another photo saying this doll is really heavy and I'm crying a little bit because my shoulders are perpetually injured...but it's worth it. They are such gorgeous dolls. :: sniffles ::

Got the e-mail confirming all my payments went through. Said all dolls will be shipped before 1st June 2020.

lol feels like slightly less time because I was assuming "By June 2020" included the entire month.

And somehow it's November already.

 

Yay...and ugh...it also says that all dolls will be declared at a value of $50...which basically means you're out of luck if anything happens during shipping. I'm going to contact them and try to get the full amount listed on the customs form...

 

Thanks for that info, celga! I didn't use layaway and so didn't get that email. Underdeclaring a package in my country is inviting trouble from Customs office, and can have consequences. And anyway, they would hold the package and I would have to show them all documents, including invoice and paypal payment statements, as they have long ago stopped falling for 50$ customs declarations from China... they even check the online shops for real prices if needs be^^

I also wanted to contact them about the declared amount and ask for the full price. It makes me nervous to have it marked so low in case it gets damaged in shipping. I had a (unrelated) package arrive very damged recently.

 

I always thought it was weird companies mark down for dolls going to the US when it doesn't even have fees for buying a doll from abroad so it's a bit risk with no upside.

 

I know the doll companies think that they're being helpful by underdeclaring - I guess they assume that everyone has the same customs rules - but for some countries it is definitely no favor. I wish they would all just have a box you can check if you want the doll declared at full value!

 

Just got a nice note from LLT, who said they're happy to declare the box at full value. I would definitely encourage anyone else in the US to ask for the same! The website may be a bit of a mess, but their customer service is very personal and kind.

Hi guys

I'm thinking of hybriding my OE Roderich (the new ver) with an Iplehouse EID Model body because I need him to be a lil chonkier lol
EID neck is 0.3cm thicker than the head's which shouldn't be an issue much (I hope?)
I'm also planning to get an Edria head and put her on an Iplehouse body.

I'm no pro with Iplehouse and wondering which of their skintone would match LLT's Normal Skin best?
Seems like LLT's old NS vs new NS have some difference too

 

I have my normal skin Edria on a normal skin Iplehouse SID girl body. It did require some modding of the neck to fit, and I did have to have the head blushed to match, but I think it's still a good fit. It's been a few years since I completed her, but I think the issue was that Iplehouse is slightly more yellow than LLT. The LLT resin also has a certain translucent/ethereal quality that didn't quite match Iplehouse.

I think both the head and body were from 2015/2016, so I'm not sure how the companies have changed their resin since then.

I currently own the old OE Roderich and I'd say the skintone is pretty much similar to Volks / Switch / Luts from around his generation. I've seen Iplehouse back in 2010s and I always thought that their NS is pretty fair compared to these companies.
But I notice now that Iplehouse has a wide array of skintone and I wonder if some of them would match LLT's better. Guess I'll need to wait for my new OE Roderich to arrive and compare him with my current OE head.

Am I being really silly and missing something, or is the add to cart option missing from the site? I really want a Red Dove head teehee! Is it unavailable? It doesn’t show up in the out of stock section...

 

Dear, this head is currently unavailable from the shop, as is almost everything else. LLT announces their pre-order periods here and on Instagram (and many other social media), though. I am not sure if Red Dove will return for another pre-order, maybe try the secondary market? It is a beautiful sculpt, I know. The sold dolls section of the shop is a bit misleading in that I suppose

Red Dove will actually be a she she’s going on an Argonautica Plus Size body in Brown Resin I’ll be sure to share pictures. I know Red dove is meant to be male and Blue Magpie female (at least that’s how they are as full dolls) but Red Dove’s face felt like a maturer BM and worked better for the character

I’ll also post pictures when the head arrives, even though you’ll all have seen plenty no doubt teehee.

 

Oh, I think Red Dove will make a great she! It's actually a somewhat androgynous sculpt, so it's all about the body and faceup choices, right? Looking forward to you spam!

 

Few notes - Christina (from clover singing) Got in touch 8 days ago asking what colour we wanted since they don’t cast white anymore (which is what we selected) we only just saw the email a couple days ago, and have already got an email saying it’s shipped so, heavens knows what will arrive (luckily the head is being dyed dark brown so... it shouldn’t matter too much)

Secondly - it’s being shipped via Yanwen... and they have abysmal reviews (tracking is terrible and a lie and packages can take months and months to arrive) so I’m a bit worried. Christina said 7-14 days so let’s hope she is correct.

Does anyone know what shipping company Julia sends her stuff via?

Will update you all once the head arrives, I’m now rather apprehensive.

Generally the only stories that get posted are the horror stories - nice, normal shipping transactions get no air time. Hopefully your girl will be home very soon!

I only saw some upsetting news on the LLT facebook that the ballerino body has been recast

 

Oh yes, that's what brought me over here to ask. It's really upsetting (and confusing), since as far as I know, not even the small first release in China has had orders shipped out yet.

 

The China orders were shipped out after Oct. 2019, and one of them being re-sold on the second hand market was unfortunately the source of this disaster. But still very upsetting, I agree with you there.

 

Wow that's terrible to hear about how this recast disaster happened. I wish there were a way that these people could be stopped... Ugh! T_T

 

Does anybody know what shoes fit llt 75cm body?
I have only one pair of high boots from Black pearl set and now I need low ones. I thought that iplehouse may fit but they don't have any low boots of the right style

 

What style are you looking for? SartoriaJ carries some boots that fit, including low ones - but the styles are pretty limited.

I was looking for classic soldier boots with high sole and narrow ankles.
I once had similar from Iplehouse and they were really solid, inflexible and looked quite massive

 

It's February first, and the preorder for our boys is supposed to start shipping by June, right? So...we're at the halfway mark! Yay! (Okay, it already seems like we've been waiting forever, but I'm feeling optimistic, and since this thread is all but dead, I just feel like randomly encouraging myself and saying yay anyway, lol.) At this point, it has finally come down to the usual four month wait period for a doll, so I'm starting to seriously look at wigs, eyes and clothing, and considering what sort of faceup I'd like to see on him. I dunno, I guess it just feels a little more real at last. Please move along and ignore my pointless babbling.

 

It's my birthday, the Lunar New Year just happened, and I did pretty well with a recent batch of drawing and sewing commissions so I have money burning a hole in my pocket....

Also need to finish sorting out the engineering for Parzival's horse. Might need to throw in the towel and deal with a static posed horse.

Might order some fancy eyeballs since all the realistic style eyemakers kinda take a while.

Fancy eyeballs are high on my list, too - if I'm going to fork over for one of these big boys, I feel like he deserves the best! I'll probably commission a wig after he arrives, too, or make one myself - I'm pretty tired of the same old boring clones that are available on every website.

Static or not, I really look forward to seeing and admiring your Parzival's trusty steed. Clothes and wigs I can struggle through, but a full blown horse is just WAY out of my league!

 

@celga , what size clothes are you going for if you start stocking up for your new boy now? Since it's a new body and we only have a few measurements to go by, it is difficult for me to decide which way to go... or maybe better wait until I have him in hand to try things on, you know. It's usually easier with wigs and eyes, I find.

 

@Mandagore Not stocking up yet, just eyeballing stuff until he arrives and I can get exact measurements. I JUST found out from another lovely member that Alice's actually has a ton of clothing that can be ordered to spec so I am really happy about that. Plus, I'm not much of a seamstress, but I do like to struggle through my own creations.

I feel you on wigs. Masculine wigs are the most troublesome to find options for without resorting to custom made or DIY.

 

Oh, I thought you were a ratty celebrant of this lunar year. My daughter is a dragon, too! And according to mythos, is the growly antithesis of the dog: me. We're best buds, so not much of a believer...but those red envelopes are awesome!

@EmortalFreak Whatever happened with your Red Dove? Did it match the body well?

 

I have a Lazuli and a Red Dove. I haven't posted the Lazuli though because I am waiting to make sure the body I want gets made before a repaint. I would feel bad wiping the faceup if the body never got made and I ended up selling. If it all works out, she'll be a big buff cream puff.

 

Which body are you waiting on? You had my utmost attention when you mentioned muscular female bodies ahaha.

 

Oops! I totally forgot to update you all! Head arrived, Normal resin colour. Looks lovely. Haven’t got the body it will go on yet, so tried it on my RS Mi’s body and it fit lovely, even better than the Mi head does, so I now have reference for altering my Mi’s neck divet on her head to match.

the magnets are nice and strong on the headcap too which is nice. Popped it back in to box for safe storage till the body arrives.
