I think I'm safe this Dolpa too, I'll just keep saving and dream of a pretty new DDS being released next DP. Hansel is so cute though, especially in the black wig when he's modeling that foofy little gothic number.

Wowww, the new Tenshi are really teeny! Does anyone know how to spell their names in Japanese? I wanna google Japanese blog sites for better pics!

I've seen pics of the new tenshi on Japanese blogs. They're really.....not very cute, in my opinion. They look like little resin infant figures with painted on faces and hair and no articulation at all. So not my thing.

 

It certainly looks that way. I'd like to see them up close, but they seem...a little cheap compared to the larger Tenshi.

 

I'm safe this Dolpa as well, phew that is a relief!

 

I just had a thought . . . if I recall correctly, Volks once released a DD size Little Busters uniform that wasn't available internationally. And I believe MDD Kudo is from that series also, I hope that means she won't be a Japan exclusive too!

I'm also wondering about the licencing for Umineko/DD Beatrice, I've never even heard of the series so I have no idea. ^^; I thought I was safe but after seeing the more pics, I want to try for her! With those adorable tenshis being Japan-only (and this Dolpa having relatively few dolls), it would be kinda lousy if there were Japan-only Dolpa dolls too. *crosses fingers*

On another note, Hansel looks so cute in that dark wig and outfit, I'm glad Volks posted (slightly) better pictures!

 

Hmm, I wonder if the uniforms you're thinking of are the Lucky Star uniforms? Little Busters! is fairly new and I don't remember seeing a uniform for it in the past. I shall have to go looking.

I really hope Beatrice is available here. I want her alternate outfit lol. I think Umineko was licensed but I don't think it's been released here yet. It's the sort of sequel/relative to Higurashi.

 

Nope, it is this set, I remember seeing it on the Volks international site but sadly they wouldn't ship it outside of Japan. ;_;

Let's cross our fingers for Beatrice and her outfit! I love that semi-gothy looking schoolgirl set she has, those are some wicked boots.

 

As long as none of the YOSDs make it over to the USA, I will be safe (even thought I want them so so so badly)

 

Ohhhh I hadn't seen that. I am going to cross my fingers extra hard for Beatrice. Though hmm, they released Saber here and I know with Geneon going under a lot of their titles were in flux, and both Amaha Miu and Sakuno Uryuu are from eroge that I highly doubt are licensed over here, so there is hope for Kudo.

Beatrice's extra outfit is just what I have been looking for for my Kun, and since she's on the Yugiri body I think is slender enough to fit into it.

 

Maria was released in the US and she's also from the Umineko series, so I'm almost positive we'll get a Beato release. If not, I fear what my friend will do if she has to jump through hoops to get her XD.

 

Kim are those supposed to be the ai-tenshi and hikari-tenshi? Thought they were supposed to have eyes, didn't Mr Shigeta say at Dolpa NY 3 they were asking zoukeimura to make even smaller eyes for tenshi's smaller than a rei-tenshi.

Are those tansparent wings? They seem overly large compared to rei-tenshi wings. They remind me of infants crossed with a seedling somehow. They look a little like the waxen infant that goes in my mother-in-law's nativity set.

 

As far as I can tell, they are. The blogs I have seen them at were of people who won them at the Tokyo Dolpa. I'll try and see if I can find the posts again, it's been a couple of months.

It looks like they have solid wings sort of wrapped around their bodies like a blanket.

Perhaps smaller eyes are not yet possible, so these have sleeping faces?

I remember them mentioned at the NYC Dollpa last year too.

 

They may not be full dolls, but I would still be pretty over the moon if Volks gave me one of these as a gift at a Dolpa

Though I'm thinking these tenshi technically are going to be off-topic for the board rei-tenshi fell under grandfather rules. For personal research though anyone know how big these are I'm approximating 2 inches based on the arm length of the sei-tenshi.?

Maybe we could count them as accessory dolls, like the pet ones?

I think their faces look more Western than Asian.

 

They do pretty much violate every single rule for on topic qualification aside from being made of resin. They do look more like creepy little Western infants than anything else.

I personally found even the Reitenshi to be disappointing. Yes, they are free gifts but looking at them in terms of overall doll design, they're lacking compared to other tinies of their size with their limited jointing and expression. I'd really been hoping for Volks Lati Yellow sized awesome, especially since the Yellows are pretty popular in Japan and are a size that the Japanese fanbase responds really well to. I had also been hoping the new tenshi would be improvements but they went in the other direction completely. Volks, you play us so much.

They've gotta be putting prices up for the VolksUSA lotteries soon. I really want that limited Dollfie Dream outfit. Will this year finally be the first time I manage to win a VolksUSA lottery? I am hoping the streak is finally broken.

 

They have potential, but they have the one feature I do not like on dolls. Molded hair. I think if they were bald, and could wear tiny fur wigs, the appeal would really go up. I know you could put a wig over the molded hair, but predestined hair for me has always been a deal breaker.

Wow, $605 for Beatrice really isn't that bad at all. I was expecting closer to $700 considering the Yen price. That just makes my decision about whether to try for the US or just the International lottery harder, as I don't want to be stuck waiting until June to get her, but at the same time saving the money and having more chances to assure that I win the lottery would be good...

 

Oh great news! And I second the prices being less than I had figured out with the exchange rate. Totally going to enter for Beatrice's uniform. Reina is a sassy chick and that outfit is amazing. The boots alone!

Tetradeka, I'm not sure about the international lottery but Volks USA charges your card to make sure you have the funds and then releases the money back in to your account after a day or so. You could enter with the US dealers, Kerbey Lane and We Love Dolls. I believe they both ask for a 30% deposit if you win and then you have to pay off the balance by the time they receive the doll from Volks.

 

Hoo... I'll be waiting for Tenshi no Sumika...!! XDDDD

 

光天使ちゃん - Angel Light chan = Hikari-Tenshi is in a sylvian families baby bed. So it is the size or smaller than the toys I use for my Lati yellow sized dolls. The doll is super tiny.

Yeah, and I thought the Reitenshi fetuses were already pushing the boundaries of usefulness! ^^ But then, I have found that you don't exactly "play" with or "use" a Tenshi without joints in its arms or legs, anyway... it just sits around the house and serves as the brains of the operation.

Measuring fetuses is tricky, but Jimmy here is 10cm (about 3-1/2") - the bottle in the pic is 5cm (just under 2"). If those Hikaritenshi are about 2", the size of that bottle, Rei-Fetuses are definitely behemoths by comparison.

(Oh, I know what they remind me of-- those plastic babies you find inside a King cake. xD Happy Mardi Gras!)

I don't want to regret not getting him but I want to see who is going to be released @ DP25 and continue to save for my wishlist dolls, but he's really cute!

 

JennyNemesis: Thanks for the rei-fetus measurements I'll add it to my tenshi field notes. I made the 2 inch estimate from the photo with the sei. I measured Brooklyn's arm. Those Hikaris do remind me of the figurine that comes in King's cake. Mardi Gras is next week.

Yes, that's what had me thinking of plastic king-cake babies! (Boyo, you haven't lived until you've accidentally crunched down on one of those things. Ow. >_< )

Now I'm dying to know how big Hikaritenshi actually is. I thought a 10cm fetus was hard enough to handle... a ~5cm baby would be doll-sized on Jimmy. xD They look like they could be about 5cm or 2", all right. Seitenshi looks huge next to it. Crazy!

They sure look different to me! Gretel has more of a smile, and I think her nose looks pointier. Hansel has eyes just like Heath & Madoka. Definitely brother-and-sister sculpts though, so cute & almost-matching. (And interchangeable. ^^ He would make a cute She and vice-versa.)

 

yea i do like hansel head much better but i need a girl... it would be a bit tricky trying to sell/buy/trade parts.

 

I think they're different. This biggest clue is that they have different eye sizes.

Well, looks like SwD Suzuna has become my 2nd favorite for SwD molds, right under White Rabbit. Ugh, I hate it when my wishlist grows like this. Thank you for clearing that up for me! That explains why I thought the ears looked way too different to be Lin's.

 

There's no "Lin" in the Japanese bits. O.o

 

It keeps adding it there for Google translator for some reason. Go try it, you'll see what I mean. It's really weird. I guess I can't trust Google as much as I thought I could.

-edit- I think I figured out why it did that. I think the 'lin' is actually a 'line' that was copied when I copied it directly from the website. I think that's the case, since when I copy it from my post it appears differently than when I do from the website.

Not sure how Google came up with that. I love the sleepy Renge's, they're really adorable.
