Kyoto Dolpa 8 (March 13, 2011)

I can't wait to see more pics, Beatrice might be enough to tempt me! Hansel and Gretel are very cute and I am very glad to finally see more minis from Volks. At first glance, I really like Hansel, and am hoping that I don't like him much when I see more photos. I love my SDC boy to bits, it is such an awesome little body!

I find it a little odd that there are only 2 resin dolls this Dolpa though, usually there are at least three (even if two have the same head sculpt), aren't there? I know there is Una but isn't she only available at a pre-Dolpa event gathering thingy? And the other Yo tenshis don't seem to be Dolpa dolls either.

 

Ooh, beautiful outfits this time. I may try for those flowy orange and pink SD and MSD dresses.

Do Hansel and Gretel have the same head mold? They look really similar but their faceups are so different I can't tell for sure. The noses and mouths are pretty close.

 

I think she would make a cute boy. Oh, man, with freckles or something.

 

The photo picture on cover of Dolls Party 8 is interesting. The 2 Volks dolls look cute. Their clothing is a surprise to me as I thought they would be wearing clothing of chocolate, peppermint stripe, white lace, them to match the Sweets them. The clothing is attractive though. I like the "Lost In The Deep Forest" theme for this Dolpa as it dovetails with previous Volks' clothing & new "Daria" BJD.
Various dollfie meet-ups in other places could have the same fun theme party. But I would keep the chocolate donuts, messy sweets, hot chocolate, etc., far away from the BJD's & clothing. Bring plenty of Wet Ones wipes & white cotton gloves.

And, of course, I am anxious, out of curiosity, which BJD's Volks will present, especially the one-offs. I will watch as patiently as possible from the sidelines here at I paid off my credit card debt, but can't afford any new dollfie for a while. OK, so back to the grindstone, working to keep my wallet full.

 

I'm safe, for now.
I do love the YoTenshi Kira/Una, but the aftermarket price would probably be too much for me.

 

Volks is fast in sending items now>_> the last time I ordered the carrier bag from them and they took more than a month to have it shipped.I just received a notification mail from volks saying that they have sent my guidebooks out today-.-"

 

All the pink and whiteness of Una has me interested. White skin origin Tenshi body so curious how that poses in comparison.

Oh gosh I'm safe from the dolls(but, no SD sized dolls this Dolpa? Really?) but I spot several outfits I'd love and those white SD16 shoes! So pretty! *stays away from this thread in order to keep wallet from dying*

 

YES!!!! The last YO I need to have all of the Boys, SYO!!!! And he's a TENSHI!! AND!!! Tax Refund is on the way!!! Thank you to the Powers that be, I so needed something GOOD to happen in my life right now!!!

 

*exhales* No big boys = good news for me. I may not be safe from that SD17 tux, though. Wow! Some of the outfits are absolutely amazing this time around. I almost wish I had a SD16 girl so I could indulge in that amazing white gown!!! *pure love* Do they make those in human size perhaps? Lol!

Gretel looks just like Kakeru, that must be why she'd make such a great boy! Imagine her in that choppy dark wig. Jeeeeez, they're both really really amazingly CUTE. Seriously, haz-mat Cute. (Hence the name, I guess.) They are perfect for this role.

Hansel, oddly enough, reminds me of nobody so much as Iplehouse Jerome, but from some angles he has Garnet's challenging stare. ^^ Absolutely charming. I can't wait to see more closeups of him.

And I quite like the way Volks took up the challenge of conveying Destitute-Poor: the short sleeves of his rough-spun sweater, the tattery shirt tied around his waist. However, I find his choice of go-go boots an unusual one for sylvan living.

 

I like Gretel, but I can't see how she would fit in with everyone else here. I really want her wig and outfit though, they are gorgeous. There is a Nono Tenshi? I want her if I read that correctly.

 

Actually, the tattered shirt around his waist reminds me of what trendy young Japanese lads were wearing a year or so ago, which also strikes me as a bit odd for being destitute and lost in a forest. Maybe they're lost in Yoyogi park?

Actually, I love his outfit. And it's neat all the tenshi have different wings, although Una's got the nicest IMO.

Now that I've seen her clearly, I really like Beatrice. She's got a great retro shoujo manga face. And the taisho-themed DD outfits are really cute.

 

I´m only tempted by Kira and Una but since they are a four-sisters headmold they will sell for an expensive price on the after market...but I am not so much of a fan of the Yo-size that I will join the fun ^^;;

A pretty safe Dolpa for me but the next is coming up in April >.< / ^-^
But I predict an all-boy Dolpa that time ^^;;; so (hopefully) I won´t be tempted either...

 

Oh crap! I'm safe from the dolls, but several outfits are must haves. I definitely need the two White Rose collection outfits, and the shoes to match!

I love the Yo-tenshi clothing as well. And the little wings! I always love Tenshi wings.

 

I'm plotting for Gretel. Machinating madness is ensuing.

Heh. It's grunge if it's an actual shirt. If it's a separate garment designed only to look like a shirt around your waist, it's what Japanese fashion designers do to grunge . . .

Gretel's got some loli vibes, too. I'm really starting to think they are lost in Yoyogi. Their parents spend all their money in Harajuku, and the kids have to fend for themselves. Maybe the witch's house is made up of Pocky, koala cookies, mushroom chocolates, and crepes.

Actually, one of the things I like about the two of them is the matching fabric on their outfits. Like you get with families without much money, so Mom's sewing everybody's clothes out of whatever was cheap at the fabric store . . .

 

We had those same faux-grunge garments over here-- you could pinpoint the very day that grunge jumped the shark, because it was on the cover of Vogue-- in Sears you could buy a flannel shirt that had a grey sweatshirt-hood attached, so you didn't have to wear the actual 2 garments layered together. Hooray fashion! Call it Yoyogi-Destitute. I bet that witch's house has a Pocky fence.

I like the matching-fabric aspect of the outfits, too-- besides being bobbsey-twins cute, it does convey that Mom only had grey homespun to work with that month.

I have this thing against faux layered stuff. I do have a cheater sweater for my SSDF boy, and I even feel slightly off about that . It started in the 80s when those shirts with the fake vest bits on the front came out - I love vests, so I hated that.

It would be fun, if very time consuming, to do a photoshoot with a baked-goods house and Hansel and Gretel.

 

I wish I could get Una and Nono SO badly! The nicest items/dolls are always released at such eclusive events it's pretty depressing.

The YoSD outfit Nono is modeling looks cute, too. Everything else I seem safe from! I adore the long MSD dress, but I don't have anyone who would wear it. I would love a Kira, but I'm not even gonna try.

 

Can anyone tell form the pictures if the YOSD torso is all one piece or if it has the joint? I know that when little Alice came out, she was on a one piece torso, but Lorina had the jointed torso.

 

The print isn't all readable size but I think Una and the three others are all listed with origin tenshi bodies, which means one-piece.

 

Hello! I'm planning noumi for my first dollfie and I have a quick question.. are the other outfits for character dollfies also lottery items or will they be direct sale usually? Do they usually sell them in the online shop as well or only at the dolpa? Sorry for my newbness ^^; I read some guides online but didn't see this anywhere.

 

I really really want Kira but it will have to wait. Maybe Volks USA will get here and I can work my magic on the hubby.

Oh wow... I can't say that I've ever really been tempted by a mini, until now... both of them are really cute, I'm really tempted by them. Any idea when we'll get better pictures? Or if there is a chance we'll see some pictures of them at the even before the (hopeful) lottery/after even?

 

Thankfully I seem to be safe this dolpa too. Although that YoSD High Mode outfit is really cute. I'll have to wait until I see better pictures at VolksUSA before I decide if I really want it or not. That is quite a relief to know I will be able to save until next dolpa!

 

OMG!!! Una is absolutely adorable and a tenshi Kira and Show, wow, just too cute. Volks has listened to our wishes! It'll be awesome if I can get either Una or Kira.

 

Are we able to get Yo Tenshis off the International AE? I thought Tenshis usually are for even-goers only O__O;;; *hopes of being wrong*

 

Do you think that Una would be in the same price range as the WS Alice or higher? (Kira mold is quite popular)

I think I am quite save this time, but Una is VERY interesting... If they are re-releasing the Kira mold as a WS tenshi, do you think there is some hope that they will also release a WS Kanon in the future? I would die happily owning a WS Kanon!

Tesnshis are not part of international event sadly.

Sadly Kira as a Tenshi would not be part of volksusa lottery though who knows maybe they will release a limited white skin yo kira in the future (I've been wishing for sunlight yo release myself for variety) . If they did that may make it to volksusa.

She might be higher after market. White skin releases of tenshis usually I'd expect she would be at leastin the same range and higher that Alice. Maybe more in the range of Hinata prices. It really depends on how limited she is to the event goers. If she is done by lottery or is available as a preorder to all vs/vip that attend the pre-event.

I tend to be a tenshi fan girl so I'm really excited to see all these new tenshis. Each one having a special wing shape has me pondering what I want to get most.

Even though I have a Yo-Kira I really like Una the white skin and pink wing combination is really darling. I also like Syo cause I don't have one. I think eventually I'll have to plan on how to get at the least the wings.

Of the actual dolpa dolls not the pre-event ones I really like the outfit of Gretel and love her lips.

 

Anyone else notice that the new Yo-tenshi wings are jointed? I don't think that's been done before but I've not been paying attention lately.

You can see it here on 0bbs.jp/superdollfie: img303_15 and img303_16 the best, but if you look carefully you can also see the joints in these two pics: img303_18 and img303_17 (notice the little motion lines next to the wings).

I like the extra joints on the wings but I wish they hadn't gone with the origin bodies. I prefer having more posing options to nostalgia. Maybe that's just me though. :/

 

This isn't the first release of jointed wings by Volks, tanzerse. But it is a pretty recent development. From the look of things, all or most of Volks future YoTenshi releases will come with jointed wings. I really do think they are a wonderful improvement and I love the sculpting of the jointed wings.

 

I want to see those Gretel boots up close and personal. Anyone find a better photo of her yet?

 

Thanks AreeElf, this is good and bad lol I dont need yet another doll. I just got Alice of the MP. I really want a four sister someday but I could probably live without her being white skin although I would love one to go with my Alice.
But I have been really fortunate to have obtain some great Volks dolls so I needn't be greedy.
I Love Gretel but I do not collect that size, thank goodness. Hansel and Gretel look like the same mold just like Kakeru and Chika. I love when Volks does that.

 

There will usually be a couple of DD outfits in the lottery, but the rest will be click like crazy .

 

The character outfits should be limited items, so they will be lottery items. That's the way it's been for all the extra character outfits in the past.
