Kyoto Dolpa 8 (March 13, 2011)

I've had other Volks faceups that didn't come off with damp magic eraser, and I didn't even scrub, I just gently wiped, so I'm inclined to believe they didn't seal. It felt like they didn't coat the resin before they painted either. I wasn't intending to keep him default but the ease at which the faceup came off in comparison with previous Volks LE makeup alarmed me.

Perhaps indeed they sealed a very thin layer that felt like nothing, but I honestly felt that if I had touched the face, I would've taken off the paint. It seemed to just slide off the surface. Mine is probably just an isolated case.

 

I'm really curious to see doll pics,especially Hansel und Gretel. And ooo I wanted to buy a MSD fairy outfit on Volks website but it's sold out and i'm afraid they will not restock. I can cry for hours.

I have several Volks dolls and I always use the magic eraser to clean their faces. I have had some repainted since Volks does not do the best face ups IMO. It has never taken their Volks face ups off. I just cleaned my Chika's default who had a dirty spot and no problem. But I do not apply hardly any pressure, and I use water only.

Alcohol removes ink pen so of course it will take a face up off. I think because Mr.Super Clear is thicker it is harder to remove with alcohol but if Volks uses their MSC only it is much lighter and easier to remove. But I imagine Schizocheese your doll could have not been properly sprayed or only sprayed lightly, it is a bummer if you did not intend to have him repainted. I have 3 default Volks yos who will be repainted in the future.
On another note I cannot believe they still have stock left? It must be our economy because since I have been in this hobby I have rarely seen extra stock until now, and the last set of yos. Grab em while their hot♥ Congrats all!

 

I wonder if they will put him up for sale at Volks USA? if they do, I will think about getting him for sure.

 

Carmen is he on the international site? If so they probably will keep him there since anywhere can order of there. It wouldnt make sense to ship him twice. But again you never know. You could email Volks USA they are really great about returning emails.
He is really adorable.

Edit: he is on the international site. I think it makes more sense to keep him there otherwise like I posted above they would have to ship to the US and they only people in the US, Canada, and Mexico could purchase him. I believe the international site sells to almost any country.

 

At last Gretel is at home, its more prettier than the volks photos, and the outfit its gorgeous, i love her .

 

Have you taken photos yet, Kalisha? I'd love it if you could post some. Congratulations on getting your girl home.

Any word on the Volks USA shipments? Aren't they due in May?

 

I think they are due sometime in June, at least that's what I remember.

Good Afternoon!

We are delighted to let you know the Volks Kyoto 8 order has arrived earlier than expected. Volks USA is now going through the entire order and inspecting every doll. They expect to ship them to our shop May 19 or 20 or early in the week of May 23rd.


So, I'd expect everything to be shipping in the next couple of weeks.

 

My Gretel is having her seams done, so I expect her in July. I wonder if she'll be earlier?

 

There is no new on the Volks site about the Kyoto 8 items arriving earlier. But if that was true, that would be great!!

 

Volks now has the news up.

I just hope they get mine shipped sooner, rather than later. I'm headed off to Fanime on the 26th and the last thing I need is to have the neighbors steal her off my doorstep while I'm gone.

Now I just really hope that she arrives before Canada Post decides to go on strike.

 

My Hansel shipped. He's scheduled to be delivered on the 24th.

 

My Beatrice and her uniform should be here tomorrow! Can't wait to do unboxing and all that.

 

My Beatrice is still stuck on the post office.... for more than one month! My friend is also expecting for Beatrice and uniform and has no news of her...

I finally got my Beatrice and uniform this morning.
