Is it true that Volks only accepts paypal when all of the money is on the account? I thought I can use bank debit as usually when I pay with paypal.

Hi everybody,

I just new here. I just won Gretel Lottery. I tried to pay by Paypal but Volks system didn't accept it. and asked to pay by another options. So, I borrow my husband's credit card to pay after that. And Volks system didn't accept it either. Anybody have the same problem? I just want to find out Volks system is failure. or I have problem with my paypal. Yesterday I send the e-mail to volks about the problem and still not get any reply. :-(

Do you have ALL the money you need on your paypal account?

And maybe the credit card works not because it is not yours. Anywhere on the condition page stands that you have to be the owner of the paypal account, so maybe it has to be for the credit card, too...

Yes, I own my pay-pal account and I have money in my bank account that link to paypal. Usually , when I paid through paypal, paypal will take money from my bank account automatically. I don't know what to do and volks still not response.

 

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. xD You should transfer the money from your normal bank account to paypal very quickly. But they mailed me it's possible to extend the payment deadline, if it's really necessary and you contacted them before. ^.^

Ugh, I had to email them too! My dumb bank.. The money I sent through last night didn't show in my account yet, and they said it may take until tomorrow to go through! x.x I hope they give me an extra day so I can pay for her. Oy.. I wish they'd give you a week to pay since crud like this happens. x.x I'm more nervous about the money not going through in time than I was about getting the doll or not! XD

Oh, God, Thank you very much for let me know, Erleuchtung. I just transferred money to PayPal account and take 4-5 working day to processing in Aussie. I sent the e-mail to explain to Volks as well. Hopefully they will give me extra day. :-(

Just a small thought and perhaps this is not the problem that people are having, but credit card companies can put a hold on your card when you try to pay an international debt. This happened to me when I ordered something from Volks in Japan once. The payment would not process.

Later that day I went to the grocery store and tried to use the credit card there. Again the purchase would not go through so I rang the credit card company and they had put a hold on the card when I tried to use it with Volks earlier that day.

I authorized the payment for them and they took the hold off.

 

I've had that done to me so many times. I think my card companies finally got used to me making payments to Japan and stopped doing it, though. They're especially bad if you're a new cardholder, shortly after I got my first credit card, I tried to make a purchase in Orange County, about 30mi from my home (at the time) in LA, and got a hold put on it for that.

Nothing compares to the hold I got slapped on my cards the first time I went to Japan, though! I had to wait up all night for the call center to open so I could get the hold pulled. The really stupid thing is that I called my bank beforehand, knowing I'd get trouble, and the guy said "oh, it'll be no problem, we don't need to do anything" and wouldn't put a note on my account. The second time, they DID put a note, and all was fine, so, if in doubt, call before travelling or making a big international purchase, and you should be all good.

 

Likewise, the first time I ordered from Volks Int my card company put a hold on the card until I verified the purchase. It's standard practice for most card companies to do that now.

 

Just wan to update my situation. Because I live in Sydney but I just in Bangkok for long holiday. I I just got the e-mail from Pay-pal this morning that they stop my transfer money to volks because it show in record that payment from Thailand not Australia like normally. They assumed that might be fudge that why they stop my payment. Now the problem solve. :-) Thank you everybody, specially Erleuchtung :-)

I dont know if i suppose to ask here but i have Noob question (>w<)
i have eyes on a couple of Tenshi No sumika outfit (Kyoto dolpa after event)
but they said " one entry per item per costomer "

is this mean i can perchase just one ???
or it will be like one brand for one item but you can get several brand (like one for black label and another for chibi dress)

 

Giftlek - As far as I know, since they use that quote for many items, you may only buy one piece of each item. If you can manage to grab quite a few, it should be fine! You just can't have put the quantity higher than one

So...anyone else doing the Internal Server Error dance? I thought I was so lucky to get BOTH the outfits I wanted, but Volks' website is as usual failing. I wish they would invest in some better servers.

Edit: I win this round! Managed to override Internal Server Errors and place the order with both of the Fairy Tale dresses! I can't believe my luck!

Hey everyone, I have questions about Volks Intl lottery. I won Beatrice, paid for her and got a shipping confirmation from Volks, my question is how long does the shipment usually take? Another oddity that I noticed is that the payment for Beatrice isn't showing up on my credit card statement, but Beatrice has been shipped so I don't think it's a hold on my credit card. I've bought from Volks Intl. before. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

 

I'm waiting on Hansel and Gretel too, but they won't get here until June. I can't wait to see your kids when they arrive.

 

Under normal circumstances, it should take about 4 days to reach California. Post earthquake, some delays may be expected. The packages ship out from Kyoto but I don't remember if they make a detour through Tokyo which is having scheduled black outs right now. My recent order from Angelic Pretty took a bit longer than normal.

 

Our came today via Kyoto->Osaka->JFK->TN And it took 4 days

My Gretel have arrived to Spain the day 9, but is in customs and i dont know if they make me paid the tariffs or not, some times when they have a lot of work some paquets pass whiout paid.

 

I just picked up my Hansel today, and I want to pass around a warning.

There was a smudge of dirt on his face at the upper part of his head, and I took a damp magic eraser to clean it off - not only did the dirt come off, but so did a chunk of his blushing. Apparently it seems like Volks never sealed my boy's faceup. It may not be the case for everyone but I just thought it warranted sharing.

This was further confirmed when I wiped off the faceup; it took literally zero effort to remove all of it. I used 70% isopropyl and a magic clean eraser - normally, if a faceup is coated, it takes a lot of elbow grease to get it off with those materials, but the faceup just slid off like it was nothing.

 

That sounds alarming. o__o

I was contemplating on whether I should wipe the face-up and now it seems a bit more likely that I will.

 

well, volks never seal their face-up, which makes it easy to be wiped off if you don't like the original one.
So you have to be careful not to touch the face too frequently if you want the original faceup to stay for a longer time...

 

I agree with trying not to touch faceups to avoid damaging it but Volks do seal their faceups. I'm not sure where you are getting that idea that they don't
I mean if they weren't sealed any little brush against the face would smudge/damage them I'd expect. That's not the case with any of my dolls.

SchizoCheese, that is alarming. Using a damp magic eraser might have been a little harsh for it though, sealed or not.

 

I mean, Volks never put a lot of sealant on. They just put a thin layer which feels like nothing because it can be simply wiped off with a magic clean eraser. Sorry for the confusion.

 

Ah, yes maybe it was a thin layer, or maybe not set/dried correctly before he was packaged, but still I would have recommended trying a damp cloth maybe with a little dish soap very lightly. Magic erasers are designed to remove things like that and they are more powerful when they are wet.
