Kyoto Dolpa 5

I think it looks similar with a few variations the eyes are rounder and less elongated almond than Renee. Also the lips look fuller. But as some one suggested you could request Renee-like faceup on her and even get real cat ears.

I definitely see rather anime-like possibilities with the f-21 sculpt.

 

Woah, what a lot to take in at once! So many thanks to those of you that have posted info and translations. So many temptations this time. But on the bright side of there being so many amazing dolls at once, there's less likely to be just one uber-popular doll that everyone wants. *crosses fingers*

MOMOKO! Oh my gosh, she's been a dream doll of mine for years, and Rose and Bianka are so incredibly cute. But I don't know if I'll be able to get one, I hope they aren't TOO hard to get, but you can never tell with Volks.

And Neon and Kanon are one of the cutest sets of Yo's I've seen. If I can't afford a Rose or Bianka I may have to try for Neon.

 

It would be beyond awesome if this included the addition of the SD16 girl and SD17 boy bodies! *dreams big*

 

:: nods to St. James :: I like the way you think!!!! I can only hope that's why they put up that smashing shot of the new head on the SD17 body... Man, between that a pure-skin ebony, they'd have my ultimate FCS line up. Picture them now: a whole *troop* of wood-elves...

 

I'm pretty sure they are releasing the outfits on Neon and Canon. If you look at one of the pages that shows the outfits clearer you can see the price.

They're the most expensive boy/girl set Volks has offered yet for Yos but those shoes.. I don't have the picture open right now, but they're like 6800 at the Dolpa and 7140 yen during the AE (since there is no way they're outlasting the AE!) when Volks charges tax.

I'd imagine they'll be like $70 from VolksUSA if we get lucky and they come over.

Some of the clothing is really nice though! And I like the concept of new FCS options - my boy may end up being an FCS after all then!

 

Is it just me, or does Rose and Bianka have a slightly different head mold?
From some of the pictures Bianka seems to have a wider face than Rose.

Perhaps it's just their face-up or the angle the picture was taken from. I guess we'll need to wait for more pictures to see more clearly.

 

Not just you. It appears that way to me also, on every picture, but it could be where the face blush shading is placed, if the shading is higher on Bianka, and lower on Rose. or there might actually be slight differences in the mold. - Barb

 

Does anyone know who that girl is? she's the smiling one posing with Tsukasa and Isao on sumika items. Could she be " Ami????" The mysterious friend of Jun in the story??

I think someone mentioned that the girl was a F-37 in those images.

 

Personally I think Rose and Bianca are the same sculpt... the light and dark eye colors and different faceups are confusing the eye. All part of the fun! ^_~

I agree with this. I've seen a *lot* of Momoko repaints, and the coloring on each one makes the head shape seem a little bit different.

It's really neat how a tiny bit of paint or pastels can change the way you look at something.

 

The more I look at Rose the more I like her. I just wish she was white skinned.

 

Rose and Bianca do look like the same mold to me. Also I'm not sure why they would make two molds that are almost the same and release them at the same time. I like them both a lot! I like Rose slightly more because of her face-up and wig but I'd be happy with either.

 

I believe that the white btssb dress is also the same one released at the LA Dolpa, if so Volks translated it as: Robe a la francaise Set White Version. I believe its the same dress Momoko originally came with except in white instead of pink. I own this dress and its lovely

Better to release more of the same mold (with slight differences) than have less, IMO... Especially what we all went through during the last Dolpa.

No, I am almost 100% sure Rose and Bianka are different molds. Bianka (who is definately Momokos mold) has a wider, chubbier jaw and cheeks. Rose has slightly larger eyes and thinner jaw and cheeks. EDIT- Heck I keep going back to the pics and man, it could well be a trick of the make-up! lol But I swear Rose's face looks thinner! lol

I remember Volks saying Momoko couldnt and wouldnt be re-released in other countries due to copy right issues, but they were working to find a way to overcome this.
I guess renaming and re-charactering her mold was the easiest way!

Oh my those Yo outfits are so cute, and I will definately need some sailor school uniforms!

Wouldnt it be FAB if Volks offers the same or simular items for Dolpa NYC3???!!! Namely the dolls. lol

Would anyone know if Volks News 27 is released yet?

I know that people in Japan can "subscribe" to Volks News in order to receive it. But I also received copies of Volks News 23 and 24 when I made large purchases from the Volks Int. site. Anyone know if Volks News can be purchased in any of the Japanese shops right now?

Just a quick one to answer a few questions, I've been on the run all weekend, but I will post fully translated info/stories tomorrow after more running around. >_>;

Okita doesn't come with tabi feet -- like Amakusa, he has normal feet.

In regards to the FCS speculation... I posted this elsewhere yesterday but forgot to post here; I realised I misread some of the info about the 2008 FCS additions... it's new heads, bodies and parts...! Implication being that actual new bodies themselves are a part of what will be added.

The Japanese fans are speculating about whether this means things like the SD10 suwarikko body being added (and maybe different bust sizes for it?) or maybe an SD13 girl suwarikko body, that sort of thing... or whether this might imply that different sizes will be added to FCS -- ie, YoSD, SD Cute, SD16, SD17, etc.

For all people are speculating about it, I don't personally believe that they are actually going to add alternate sizes to the FCS. That's personal opinion of course but I think that at this point the popularity (particularly for SD17 size) would mean that the number of orders they'd receive would probably totally overwhelm them. They're already quite pushed to the brink since they're such a small company which is why there's such limitation on their products to begin with, and I think they probably realise the floodgates they'd be opening if they did something like that. So, while I'd personally like to see it, I don't actually think it will happen.
(Of course I'll happily eat my words if it does. )

I'm expecting things like addition of suwarikko for SD10, maybe for SD13, possibly more bust sizes for the girls. If we're really lucky, maybe different types of SD13 boy torsos? (You know, like the difference between the SD16 and SD17 torsos, which are quite different builds.) Also I'm expecting some new hand types, maybe some more leg lengths. Also I'm thinking that some more Sato heads will go Sumika. And hopefully we'll get some clothes that are more fashionable. :P

Also, rkold is right, the Neon and Kanon outfits are being released separately at this Dolpa, as is with all the YoSD outfits that each new YoSD is showcased in. YoSD are never sold with clothes, but the outfit sets that they model in their promo pics are always sold separately at the same Dolpa. I think VolksUSA will get them also, along with all the other clothing items, usually it occurs roughly a month or so after the After Event.

I personally think that Rose and Bianka have different headmolds, as the eye shape in particular looks different to me -- but I think we'll have to wait till we get clearer pics from Volks. These pics are just digicam shots taken of the volks newsletter, so they're not great to go by.

fireflytranc, thanks for the info about the BtSSB white dress set. I hadn't kept up with the LA Dolpa clothing releases so I didn't realise it but yeah, that's the same name that these have in the Japanese!

Daniel Falls, Volks News 27 is where all these pictures that have been posted have been taken from. The Dolpa guidebook itself only ever has pictures in black and white. The Volks News is what has all the colour pictures of the Dolpa releases and is what the fans really want for Dolpa new doll pics. It was released on Saturday in Japan, the first fans who posted pics go theirs on Saturday afternoon in the mail. I believe you can purchase this in the stores for around 200yen but the stores don't get it till a bit later than the mailed ones, I think -- the fans receiving it in the mail are members of the Volks VIP/VS clubs and get it mailed free as part of their club membership.

Am now passing out (it's bedtime where I am) but I will post the rest of the story/doll info tomorrow after I get home.

 

If my Volks News comes tomorrow and if no one has scanned one by the time I get back to the States I will. (Though again these are two big ifs lol) Volks News has started to ship and those who live closer to Sato have received theirs, it varies by where you are in Japan. A lot of people in Osaka had theirs with them today.

 

And to add to that, rkold and I were at Tenshi no Sumika in Osaka today, and they were NOT yet selling Volks News 27.

 

The Volks website said that the Volks News would be sold at sato/sumika on Monday in Japan(25th Feb). May be you can have a look today.

 

oh man. I have to not think about all these new releases too much or I get into a tizzy worrying about whether I'll be luck enough to get one of those girls.

I'm half certain that Rose has a slightly different mold, the eyes seem a little rounder, and maybe her cheeks a little thinner. but it's just so hard to tell. It doesn't matter to me though, they're both gorgeous and i would be happy with either! Only my luck has been so bad with lotteries and such this last year. ;__;

 

Rose and Bianka DO look a lot different, though I agree that it is so hard to tell if they are different molds! Rose could be a slightly refined version of the Momoko sculpt, but then again, make-up can really do amazing things. XD I wouldn't put it past Volks to have them be two different molds . . . I mean, weren't SwD Nana and Kira very slightly different, even though Nana and Kira have the same headmold? But then there were the Rosen Maiden twins, which are the same headmold. *scratches head*

I rather like how fat-cheeked Bianka looks, though Rose's make-up is so sweet and that pink hair is amazing.

 

I agree, I think the difference is likely in the makeup. I just can't wait to see better promo photos, I know I will totally melt when those come out!

 

Dear Volks.

I just spent $1000.00 at your LA Dolpa, and that is in addition to the other $2000 or so in TWO FCS's, and clothing items in the last two years. Can you please stop releasing YO SD Boys and YO Tenshi's that I simply cannot resist?

Rose and Bianka are definitely the same head mold. (Momoko, or based on her.)

The very slight differences you guys are seeing are distortions that appear when you take a picture of a magazine page-- the page isn't perfectly flat, so the peaks and valleys of the page cause some areas of the picture to look wider and narrower. This especially happens in the crease between pages.
I can't choose between Rose and Bianka, I just hope I'm lucky enough to get one from Volks for once. ;-;

This year is gonna be a doozy considering all the Dolpa stops and Volks' 10th anniversary of Super Dollfie Save your money!! lol

Yes, I think we will be able to order the non-tenshi dolls from VolksUSA. It hasn't been annouced yet but I don't see any reason we wouldn't be able to.

i went to the LA sumika and saw the Volks News 27 issue there.. and, despite having seen many of the images in it on here, my fears were confirmed as i saw the outfits.. but THEN, i saw the f-38 on the sd-17 boy body.. and i'm about to cross into the obsessive compulsive abyss.

it'll be for a BJD embodiment of an OC i've been planning for about 2 years now.. gosh darn it i NEED to see more pics of that head mold! i just can't tell from just those shots if i want him or not.. =T3T=

You went there today too? I just came back from the store and Bailey showed me the Volks News. I think we are both in the same boat, since I want that head too. But I think it'd be great as a tanskin SD13 boy. I thought it was funny how they photoshopped the page so that the F38 boy looks like he is holding hands with Yukinojo.

Like I said before, Im thankful that the clothing sets are my main addiction for this Dolpa.

Also, Nakitama, the F37 head looks a lot like the Dollfie Dream DDH-01 head, right? It looks just like a resin Dollfie Dream head!
