But not all items are available it seems. I cannot see the Black Waltz Dress set for SD17. Oh Cuchulainn (Resiner) will be without outfit again. I hope that I will be fast enough to get something for Tighearnan

 

I saw this as well, my Resiner is in the same boat. I wonder if it has to do with the problems Volks had with some of the outfits. I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend.

Yay! I got the black cocktail dress of Yahoo!Japan, so I don't have to worry about that. Now I can go for the Natural Dress set and the boots to go with it!

 

I got my refund from Volks today through PayPal for the defective outfit. I was pleasantly surprised that they also refunded my shipping costs.
I'm still a little out of pocket because my parcel had customs fees on it. However that's my problem, not Volks.

Just some advice: Usually a line of people waiting for the store to open will form early, and once the store opens everyone walks in single file. Most items will be snatched up within the first few minutes, so hopefully get there early if you have your eye on a specific item.

Im hoping that the crowds will be thinner, since this weekend is also Fanime weekend.

 

...and Memorial Day weekend. (Does not look forward to the traffic)

Honestly, I'll be going for fun (and possibly these boots: http://volksusa.com/sbsd120.html ) considering I just saw all of this stuff a month and a half ago.

Do any of you bring any dolls? Or go without because of the crowds?

Anrui, people bring their dolls to the store too. Sometimes it gets too crowded and the bigger dolls may be more of a hindrance to the owner. You can never tell how many people will show up though.

I personally am not much of a morning-person nor a crowd-person, so the last two times I went to the store I came without any dolls nor any desire to socialize. This time, however, I just plan to bring either my Mika-girl or my F-31 boy, since it seems a little fun to talk and focus on the dolls while you're waiting for the store to open. If Midori is reading this, then Ill still be bringing a Nintendo DS to play Mario Kart if anyone is interested.

Anrui, I wouldn't mind a casual, small meetup with other doll owners over lunch after the sale.

 

Sounds good. I am totally not a morning person either...I look forward to the end of the school year so I can sleep in. (I say this as I'm sitting in a class full of 7th graders.) Maybe I'll bring the new ones in my backpack.

Hmmm...I've been playing DQ:M on my DS...I don't have Mario Kart for the DS (however, I've been happily smashing my way through the Wii version. ) maybe I should pick it up.

Oh, I thought multiple players could join together on a game with just one cartridge? I must be wrong. Im sorry, but I haven't owned my DS very long, and the last gaming system I owned beforehand was Sega Genesis. You shouldnt have to pick it up if you dont need it, since I think the time waiting can easily be spent talking about dolls or whatever.

 

You're right, Daniel. One cartriage is fine for Mario Kart. All of us without one just download it through the wireless connection. Yay for DS technology. =3

I hadn't touched my DS for a long time... Let alone mario Kart DS. O__o

I'll be bringing my SDC Renee. Don't want to carry anything too big that might bumped into someone. I'll be arriving around 8 or 9. I'm super gung-ho to get that natural dress set for my Garnet. Rawr!

Ill be arriving around the same time as Midori, I guess. I wish the SD17 Prince Waltz Outfit and the YoSD outfits were on sale, since I would arrive there at 8AM if it gauranteed those two sets. Now everything else for sale isnt anything that I absolutely want, so the time Im there will depend on how much I want the other stuff versus how sleepy I am that morning.

Hmm...store opens at 9am, right? Maybe I can haul my sluglike self out of bed and try to get there between 9-10am, as there is nothing I'm really looking for. It's almost a hour and a half drive for me, though, so we will see how things go.

I.D.s? I wasn't checked for I.D. in Japan for anything besides picking up my rail pass and checking into my hostel. And that includes the $1500 charge I put on my credit card for my two newest guys at Sato. I would just ask them to stamp it, and they would.

Wow, it sounds like it's going to be a total party and reunion at the Torrance Volks this weekend! I'll be there with Angelo and Jessica (they are insisting on one new outfit each; and Jessica REALLY needs dressy shoes - hope they have some in). I'm looking forward to seeing the folks I know, and making new friends. Just don't buy what I want.

(I may also have a pal - my BOSS - with me. Pimp her hard, folks - I think she'll cave under the spell of Super Dollfies if we just work on her. )

 

omg T_T the stuff on Volks USA went so fast! I couldn't get the baby pin or the school uniform (sailor one with short skirt... I got the private school one though =/) or the natural dress set (I really wanted the sweater xD...) and it's only been 3 minutes ;0;!!!

 

Well that really makes me angry. I had both the Natural dress set and boots in my cart, put in my info, got all the way past shipping and credit card info to the order confirmation page and then the boots sold out before I could send my order. And then I took half a second to decide if I wanted the set without boots, refreshed, and the dress set was out of my cart too.

 

Yay, I'm happy I got the Nocturnal Crow outfit and the BtSSB barette that I missed when I fell asleep for the AE!

 

Had everything in my cart, was all the way up to the 'send your order' part - and when I pressed the button three items were suddenly unavailable ;A;

At least I still managed to get the MSD dress and shoes I wanted but not the natural dress set, brown boots and even a pair of eyelashes!

 

God hates me. I got everything all entered and at the last minutes; someone here at work decided that they must speak to me at that minute; the next thing I know it is sold out

It's funny to confirm your payment but then suddenly be taken back to the confirm payment page again with like 3 items missing from your cart x_X! Oh well that just means more money to find cute matching shoes ... anyone know of any stores that have some cute sd girl sized loafers in stock?

eta: I got the private school uniform, black millifuelle, white lily dress, and black berry set (even though all I really wanted from that set was the jacket... >_<...)

 

I'm just going to chalk it up to more money for NYC Dolpa and maybe my good dollie luck will be saved up too.

i got the School Uniform of Shiro's Youth, Black Cocktail Dress, and Joe's School Uniform Set "Sunset" Version. I didn't get any of the School Girls Uniforms that I wanted...the Senior girls uniform was in my cart, then at final checkout it became unavailable! grrr! hehe! No worries though, they'll probably sell them again in the future.

 

Volks doesn't restock items, so really once they're gone, that's it! Here's 'nother loss for the Natural Dress Set and those Brown Boots! I did manage to get the Black Mille Feuille set thogh.

 

I see, broken. that's too bad.

 

Yeah, I had the Brown Boots, and the BTSSB Barrette, but the operative word here is "had". I was able to pick up the green flower pumps though, so not a complete loss. I really wish stuff couldn't be snatched from your shopping cart though, it's such an emotional rollercoaster to endure. I can understand putting a cap on the amount of dolls they make, but the outfits and accessories being constantly offered in such small quantities had become a real drag. Oh well, I shouldn't complain right, at least I got one thing I wanted. And I'm happy for those that got the items that they wanted, as well as sympathetic to everyone that missed out. Kittybongo has the right idea...what money didn't get spent today can go toward NYC Dolpa 3!

Had my eye set on one thing and that was the Natural Dress Set, and had 2 people even try to help me get it, but alas, they didn't had enough.. I was told that on location, there was plausibly 2-3 sets of the Natural Dress Set and 1 set of the Brown Boots! like, OMG!

ANNND, I'm assuming people who were lucky enough to get it probably do not wanna let go of it. For a long time. A really, really long time. T^T

 

Just FYI if anyone wants to know, the Baby the Stars Shine Bright white MSD shoes will fit an SD girl (my SD13 Mimi has them on right now)

 

Wow, I need to pay more attention, I totally missed the Volks USA stuff. ^^; Oh well, sounds like they went pretty quick anyway! Those brown boots are awesome. Congrats to everyone who snagged stuff.

I love the school uniforms, and that sweatervest set is exactly like what I've been wanting for Ryoma since I got her. I was lucky enough to get that from one of the USA shops! I'm kinda glad I missed a chance to get the sailor uniforms at Volks USA, 'cause I already have four of them. XD

Thanks for the advice about the shoes! Ill have to take one of my girls with me to try it on then. I just got home from running errands after the store sale, but there were so little numbers for some items. Especially since there was only one available pair of those SD Girl Cowboy Boots. Many people also walked from the store without the Natural Dress Set, which was so popular. I managed to get the Girls Black Sweater Outfit and the Boys Black Crows Set for myself.

I didnt expect so many new people at the store today. Some waiting hours! It felt more like a meetup than one of the general store sales, but it is probably one of the most enjoyable times that Ive had at the store.

 

I sold my Pink BTSSB MSD shoes--they fit my SD girl, too--it's a tight squeeze, though--be careful!

 

Wow, I guess there is no point for me to try to rush and drive to sumika after work today; since I guess there is no much left (if any...)

I didn't like the fact that there were only 3 Natural Dress Sets at the Volks shop. It was the only thing that I came for... Kinda disappointing. However, I was able to pick up some supplies that I have been delaying to get.

Time to hunt that out outfit on Yahoo! Japan~

 

For some reason, I get the feeling that the store gets just slightly less allocation of stock than on-line store. So to get it from Sumika, you really need to be there when the store opens. It never works out for me, although I am so close to Torrance since I have to work from 9 to 5PM.

Oh, well, I guess I will just go to the bookstore today to pick up my manga instead of rushing to Sumika.
