Hey!! Surprise!!! I got my Volks email tonight (may 1) my Bianka is due to arrive on may 6th. I am getting just one Bianka, but got 2 emails announcing her shipment. Manami!! 2 Roses sounds incredible. Maybe one of them is a Mother's day gift? Roses for your mom and all that? Congrats!!
Oh my last name starts with a W in case that helps to figure out the shipping schedule.

 

I got another ship notice for my Neon. The tracking number was wrong in the first one, so they sent it again with the right number.
I haven't even ordered his eyes yet and he'll be here Wednesday!

 

congrats about your shipping notice! The 2 emails are because the first one typo-ed the tracking number. Atleast thats what was up with mine and my mother's.

When my mother saw pictures of Rose and Bianka she said "Boy they are ugly. I hate their droopy eyes." She doesnt like Alice my Kurumi, or Ichigo my Papi, or Moko my MSD F-18 for the same reasons +sigh+ and she would much rather have a new refrigerator or a new emerald ring for mother's day. Which I probably won't be buying her....

 

Mine says it should arrive next Wednesday...

The outfit is so awesome. Too bad, it did not come with a sword. Need to go out shopping for sword next week.

 

Got a call from UPS today saying someone needs to be home tomorrow to sign for the boxes. They said they will deliver between 7am and 6pm ..... +rolls her eyes+ Could they be any more specific? lmao

Last year my Kurumi cost $17 to ship, My Rose costs $21 to ship. Maybe its partially because of the need for a signature? I assume its also because of prices going up as they do and because of oil prices as well.

 

I also got an automated phone message from UPS telling me about my Okita's arrival tomorrow.

At least me and my mom will be both home (I'm home sick again) to receive him!

The shipping prices are going up indeed--I'm sure it's because of the gasoline costs.

 

We got the computerized call too. It may cost a bit more to get the signature. I know it is more secure - but last Summer I had to drive way out in the boonies, twice! to get Masha from the UPS central shipping place. It was so traumatic - partly because my husband was very ill and I was practally living at the hospital. Masha (and her twin ) is happily home and my husband is all well too. Hopefully this doll delivery will be less traumatic! I want to see smiles instead of tears

I won Tae from Kerbey Lane, and her shipping is $55!!! Cheaper thru Volks, but less angst waiting for the lottery... I suppose it is a fair trade off.

Wow Manami - It sounds like you and your Mom have very different doll ideas. I know you won't have any trouble finding her a loving home though. If somehow you decide to do a Split - I'd love the pink wig!

 

I also got a call from UPS yesterday saying that my doll would arrive today sometime between 8am and 9pm -_-;;; Knowing our local UPS people, it'll probably be as close to 9pm as possible (they actually have delivered something to my house at 9pm!)

I'm going through a 3+ day migraine, and the wait is killing me. I just hope she arrives soon so I have something to feel GOOD and HAPPY about!

 

Oh Jibrille - I am so sorry about the epic migraine!! No fair!!!! I hope your sweet dolly takes away the pain. Just don't breathe the resin fumes too deeply

Migraines are the pits. Do you know about the bag of frozen peas at the back of the neck? Or the accupressure point in the fleshy bit between thumb and index finger?

I am taking 2 kinds of drugs to keep from getting the migraines. It does help - but menapause has made the biggest difference I think.

What a huge Dolly Delivery Day!!! I'll be watching the gallery to meet all the new dolls.

 

I just got a call from UPS saying my boy will be delivered tomorrow.
Even though he's already in the state, he must be walking down the turnpike. If anybody happens to be on the NJ turnpike today and sees a little Neon walking along dragging a girl's pirate suit, give him a ride please?

 

I see a Neurologist once every 4 weeks for my chronic migraines, trigeminal neuralgia, and tendonitis. Last time I saw him, he gave me some injections in the back of my head to hopefully help - all it helped was the tendonitis.

I'm on a ton of painkillers and bedridden about 75% of the time. The rest of the time is spent either at the computer or at a Dr's office.

But ... MY BIANKA ARRIVED! She arrived at 11am. I'm glad I didn't have to wait all day for my doll to arrive! Only thing is that her headcap is a bit messed up and her wigs don't fit right and keep popping off - but I put some rubber bands around her head and that fixed it! So now she's all dressed up and has her wig on!

 

Booo! My Okita has not arrived yet! I wonder if UPS is taking their sweet old time to deliver it to my door and they're somewhere lunching at a Starbucks. My doll is "out on delivery" according to the tracking status--he arrived in FIFE at 4:00AM today!

Anyway, I was up at 10:30 am and was expecting the brown delivery truck to be parked in front and the UPS guy dragging a huge box to my door.

But none of that happened yet--I'll just have to wait until 7:00PM for my boy to be delivered.

I think there's a bunch of new delivery people in this route right now. If it was my regular UPS guy, then I would've gotten my Okita right at 10:30AM on the dot.

 

I'm just letting everyone know to carefully check their Fullsets--especially Okita Souji fullset.

Mine did not come with the tabi socks! So I'm e-mailing Volks about this matter.

I hope everyone else receives their dolls with the complete set!

Manami Yeah, they usually deliver packages around 10:30AM right on the dot--but I think there were some changes.

I had to wait until 2:00PM before the UPS guy knocked on my door.

I didn't get any call from UPS so i've pushed everything off tomorrow and just wait for the UPS man.

Augh still haven't found a sword for okita... anyone know where I can get a katana that fits SD13?

 

So I finally got my Rose and I have to say I'm not sure I like the faceup. I love the Momoko faceup but the Rose one is just so Pink O.o I also took out her eyelashes because they were really full and fake looking.... I may have to commission someone to re-do her faceup like Momoko's

 

scarlet: I think you can find some miniature samurai swords from Ebay--but there probably some reliable stores in your area where they sell replicas of Samurai swords as well as miniature replicas of them.

Anyway, here is a website where I found some miniature katana that are a good fir for SD13:

Has anyone emailed VolksUSA asking if they will be getting the limited outfits? I'm thinking of buying my Rose a wig and new eyelashes but if they are going to have the outfits I may as well just wait...

 

I hope the outfits problems get sorted out too and volks usa can offer them :l... I was really looking forward to picking up a few of the MSD stuffs!

Also, is anyone else having problems with their Kyoto 5 Doll's headcap? My Bianka's is lopsided in a way. It sticks out on one side and inward on the other - like it was a mold malfunction or something. I had to put 2 thick rubber bands around her headcap to get wigs to stay on; and even then the wig will pop off now and then. I've tried on several wigs to make sure it was the headcap and not just the wig.

 

My Bianka is home at long last. I don't know her name yet. I do know I love her very much!!!

Oh how impolite of it!! Could it be on backwards? The head cap is the older non-magnetic style held on with a rubber band on the inside. She really is Momoko! No it couldn't be backwards because the metal label would then be in the front. Hmmm.... I didn't actually do the wigging of my Bianka - my daughter is SO much better at it and more patient too. I think the wig popped off once. I grabbed the roll of masking tape and made a loop of it and plunked it on the top of her head. Its just a quick fix, but the wig is staying on now.

Maybe she is one of the dear old melon headed girls from the past. The shape of the head can affect the fit of the wig. Do you have any wigs that are stretchy all over not just at the rim of the cap? They might stay on better. Also the wig velcro can really help. Velcro from the fabric store can help too, but it has much bigger "teeth" and can be pretty hard on the wigs.

I'd suggest taking some clear pictures of it sitting on there funny, and email them to volks customer service with your concern about it not fitting right.

 

Bianka does have a large head. We had to struggle to get the default wig on and eventually had to use wig stop to help it stay on. Also her headcap is smaller which may be causing issues with getting wigs to stay on.

 

I compared Bianka's headcap to my F-01's headcap. Bianka definately has more of an oval-shaped headcap, while my F-01 has a perfectly round headcap.

I don't know if there's anything that Volks can really do about it, even if I do take pictures. I'll just have to make do with the rubber bands.

 

Jibrille, you can send an email to Volks USA or call their customer service phone number and talk to them. They are really helpful. Last time I had to call them and left a message because I messed up an order, they called me back within 24 hours.

But the big-headed Volks dolls do need wig stop for their wigs to stay on-it really helps. My Mimi used to have wig issues until I used it.

 

Yeah my Bianka had wig issues too. XD For now I'm using a rubber band but I will head over to Denver Doll later and get a sillicon cap they are AMAZING!!

My Neon's wig was hard to put on too, but he won't be wearing that one for very long so I don't really mind.

He looks like Souji from Peacemaker Kurogane...and when I saw him I just flipped! I wish I could afford him...

 

How cool! Will Bainka/Rose use a 7/8 or 8/9 size wigcap then?

 

Ack! Unfortunatly this is my first SD sized doll so I'm unsure what size she would be.

Anyone else have a guess to wig size?

 

Could you bring her to Denver Doll and have them help you pick the right size?

 

Most SD dolls wear a 8/9 size wig; the silicone head cap from Denver Dolls will likely be pretty stretchy so even though Bianka has a larger head, the 8/9 should work.

Sometimes it is a shape miss-match that causes a wig to pop off. Can you imagine how embarrassing that would be!!
It is interesting to see all the different shapes of head Volks has creted over the years.

The Volks wigs are lovely and thick, but not as able to conform to different shapes as the JPOP wigs. Still I have plenty of both brands. I have become a wig maniac....

 

Why not just measure her head with a measuring tape? Loop it around her head where the edges of her wig would be.

 

When I buy wigcaps from denverdoll I usually buy one size smaller so if the doll wears 8-9 wig you order a 7-8 wig cap. It stretches but loose wigcap makes for tight wig and wrinkled fit.

 

I might have missed it somewhere, but does anyone know if they're going to release the outfits (like the YoSD ones) on the volksusa site?

 

Volks USA will not be selling any of the defective outfits.

Just a quick update regarding the missing tabi socks from my Okita Souji fullset.

Volks replied to my e-mail and apologized. They also included a tracking number for for the tabi socks that they are sending me to replace the missing ones.

To be honest, I kinda got a bit emotional--tears of joy!
