~20cm Dolls Knobbly, the nasty Goblin

Thank you for cheering me on, this has been a frustrating process and it's been so good to have people who gets it to talk to. I can't wait to show him to you IRL. I realize how wierd this would sound anywhere but on a doll forum, but I think you are going to love his thighs.

 

Today I've tested the new hand mold and it's a sucsess! He now has all ten fingers.

 

I've been doing a lot of color tests. This resin behaves a bit differently than the type I'm used to, so it took some getting used to. But I think I'm getting close.
Here are some of the sampels that I have. The far right one is a fairly solid paper white, for reference.

Reality is probably somewhere in between.

I am leaning towards second from the left as my standard green for this doll. I can mix it reliably and it does appear to cast well enough as long as I watch the humidity carefully. Plan B is the center one. It's paler than I'd like, but it casts a bit more easily.
I'd love to hear if you guys have any opinions.

 

So.. I cast myself a sample goblin in the darker green, but I had a bit too much problems. So I cast myself another one in the lighter green and I think that will have to be it.
Seeing them as full dolls, the colours are pretty close. It's visible when putting them right next to each other, but looking at one at the time the colours look very similar.

Admitedly the lighting is bad, but well; it's sweden in late december and proper day light is something that happens to other people.

As you can see I have had some fun making things for him as well.
And I can't seem to stop playing around with him. He is so much fun to pose and I'm not at all sorry that I had to make two samples, because posing them together is even more fun. I make no excuses.
We have to get our pleasures where we can find them, right?
