Knitting pattern confusion

May 6, 2020

    1. Hi :) has anyone made this knit top?

      297. French and english knitting pattern PDF - Wrapover top for Smart Doll (busts S, M and L) and BJD SD

I am confused by a line in the instructions

"R 2:K4, K2tog, yo, K2tog, don’t drop the stitches and knit the first stitch again, yo, Psso, K4."

I completely understand the line except for the "don’t drop the stitches and knit the first stitch again"
No clue what stitches I'm not suppose to drop and what the first stitch would be

      Can anyone help please?

    2. I can't be sure, but my best guess would be that you put the needle in as though to do a k2tog, wrap the yarn, but instead of completing the stitch and sliding the old ones off, you then go back through the first of the k2tog stitches again. . . But I'm not sure why you'd want to do that. Unless it makes some sort of bobble or cable-looking thing? I'd have to knit a swatch and play with it to be sure. . . Can you send a message to the designer and ask for clarification?

    3. @jennil Hi :) Thank you for responding, I actually tried what you suggested, but I am using 2mm needles and it was super hard to see what was happening LOL I will try that again with larger needles to test that theory. I also sent a request for clarification to the creator, but she is french and I am wondering if the English translation is a bit off. I was hoping someone here in DOA had done this pattern and had figured it out.

    4. That's how I'm reading ti too, but I can't figure out why, unless it's for a decorative effect.
