My first ever knitting pattern! I'm only a beginner so this should be easy enough for one Any questions please ask...but not about how to knit....i'm still learning. SD size Raglan Jumper with small turtle neck.***UK terminology*** 4 ½ mm needles (US7) Double knitting wool Back and front of jumper Cast on 25 stitches Knit 1/1 rib for 3 rows (k,p across, p,k across, k,p, across) Beginning with a knit row work Stocking stitch (knit across, purl across) for 6inches / 15cm. *Decrease 2 stitches, knit to last 4 stitches, decrease 2 stitches.* Purl across Repeat * to * until 13 stitches remain on the needle Next row purl across. Wrk next 3 rows in 1/1 rib. Cast off. Make another the same. Sleeves Cast on 19 stitches Work 1/1 rib for 3 rows Beginning with a knit row, work stocking stitch for 7inches / 17cm. *Decrease 2 stitches, knit to last 4 stitches, decrease 2 stitches.* Purl across Repeat * to * until 9 stitches remain on the needle Next row purl across. Wrk next 3 rows in 1/1 rib. Cast off. Make another the same. Lay out all the pieces with the wrong sides towards you and sew together. Voila! one SD jumper. This wool was from my scrap box and was actually Aran weight from an old jumper mom made. It is a straight fit with only a little shaping. I used a crochet hook to cast onto some dpns and i knitted in the round some 1/1 rib just to finish the top off a bit better. I don't think it was too bad for a beginner and an experiment. i am almost finished a msd pink hoodie made using the same pattern but with size UK10 needles and baby dk wool.
I tried making this Sweater but the neck hole was too small for the doll I wanted to put it on (An Abio Angel Er). I modified it a little bit and made it into a V-Neck. I will post a picture when I get one. But Yah just be aware that the neck hole is only good if you want to remove the doll's head. (I don't like removing heads myself) Other than that It is a good pattern and very nice. I am working on my third sweater with this pattern and my alterations Thanks for the pattern.
