As promised, here is the pattern I did for Leeke mittens. I will let you know the guage later as I forgot to figure it out, I just made it up as I knit. It would be best made in a thinner yarn but I wanted it to match the hat I had already made. I will be doing another pattern in a thinner yarn at a later point in time. This is knit in the round. Right mitten: Cast on 12 sts Work 3 rows K1, P1 rib (K1, inc1, K2) to end (15sts) K3 rows stocking stitch K8, place 2 on holder, K5 K1 row K to last 2 sts, K2tog K1 row K2 tog, k to end K1 row K2 tog, k to last 2 sts, k2 tog k2 tog to end. Cut thread and run up through sts. Weave in ends. For left mitten just reverse directions. Thumb: Pick up the 2 sts from holder and one more from the mitten part (sorry don't know how else to describe it) K 2 rows on a straight needle (just loop it when you finish to make a loop) K2 tog. Cut thread and pull through sts. Weave in ends. Hope this helps. I'm new at writing out directions for others (I know what I mean but usually others don't) Here it is all finished next to the hand: Here it is being worn: Here it is showing the 2 sts on a holder.
It's been a long time, but could you possibly update this post with photos, gauge and needle size? I'd love to see your work!
