This was done on coton tricoter Cygne from Bergere de france on 2mm and 1.5mm needles it's actually quite simple, the feather and fan pattern (FF) is worked on the 2mm and the stockingette on the smaller needles it has a double rib on each side to give it definition and a little stretch just in case. The feather and fan (ff) pattern is worked over four rows Cast on 66 stitches on the 2mm needles (this give 4 repeats of the FF pattern) R1 - p1 k1 p1 k1 p1 k28 repeat R2 - k1 p1 k1 p1 k1 p28 repeat R3 - FF pattern - r4 - purl stitches as presented, make sure to work the rib repeat until desired length I did it four times on the above dress FF pattern worked over 14 stitches k1 k2tog k2tog yo1 k1 yo1 k1 yo1 k1 yo1 k1 K2tog k2tog k2 eyelet detail for ribbon to be added between FF pattern and stockingette K1 K2tog yo K2 repeat to end. Be careful to always work your rib after the eyelet detail switch to the smaller needles and stockingette till desired length if you want you can reverse the pattern so the FF pattern is along the top as well. like so when you have reached the desired length of stockingette repeat the eyelet row then the 4 ff rows like so R1 - p1 k1 p1 k1 p1 k28 repeat R2 - FF pattern - r3 - p1 k1 p1 k1 p1 k28 repeat R1 - k1 p1 k1 p1 k1 p28 repeat when you reached the desired length (in the above case 5 1/2" BO Loosely ideally this dress would be knitted on the round but if you can't just knit flat and mattress seam to finish. Take a length of ribbon and thread through the eyelets forming a bow wherever you like.
