Knitting Knit- Leggings for PukiFee

Oct 10, 2012

    1. HI just to let you know you can actually get needles right down to 1mm, I usually order mine from ebay and have everything from 1.25 mm upwards. Hope this helps.

Knitting pattern for Puki Fee leggings.

I have never actually written out a pattern for anyone else to use before so if you don't understand what I am trying to say please feel free to PM me.

I used 1.5mm needles (double point needles) and lace weight yarn, knitting in the round.

Cast on 40 stitches and k1 p1 for 1 row. Join into a circle, without twisting and continue in rib for 3 rows.
Inc in next row as follows: K2, m1 (by picking up the thread between the two stitches and knitting into the back of it. Continue to end of round (60 stitches).

Continue knitting until you have 18 rounds.

Next row knit 30 stitches, dividing these equally between your three needles. Leave the other 30 stitches on some yarn. Working on the first 30 stitches continue knitting until you have 40 rounds, then cast off. Rejoin yarn to remaining 30 stitches and finish to match first leg.

    2. FWIW--even KnitPicks carries needles down to 1mm.

For anything smaller--I got mine through Lacis or through www.scottymaloney.com.

    3. Those are super cute! Thanks for the pattern.

Unless something has changed recently that I'm not aware of, Knitpicks needles are only available down to 2mm.

    4. Sorry. I got my sizes mixed up......a zero is 2mm, isn't it?

    5. sadly yes. 0 is 2mm and knitpicks only goes down to 2's :(

    6. hiyahiya has needles down to 000000, both double-ended and circular. They have rather blunt ends and nice cable. Also, there are some Chinese needles on ebay I do not know the brand name, but they are individually wrapped in bright blue packaging, they are sold in sets of 11 or 13, and sets of 13 have needles down to Chinese size 18, which is about 1 mm. They are also very cheap, about $10 for a set, but they are not always the best quality, some of the needles have snugs, but considering the price, I would say it is acceptable. They are my favorite needles for the moment, and they have the best cables ever - metal rope encased in clear plastic. The cables are so much better then even Addi, and you get the whole set for less then one Addi needle.
Teddywitch, thank you for the pattern.

    7. sweet Pukifee and nice outfit

    8. I have that needle size! :D I also just got some 0000 needles--gotta figure out what I'll be making with them, but I do know it'll involve the super-fine homespun I've been spinning.
