Your Laryssa is lovely Tatty. I love the vintage floral pattern of her dress, and the flower in her hair gives such a sweet finishing touch. It's funny, i am the other way at the moment. My Kaye Wiggs Talyssa was my first msd purchase, and now i have bought some slimmer msd dolls since, they see quite thin and smaller in comparison - particularly in the head size. I like having some different dolls to add some diversity, but it has made me consider getting a pair of Kaye's dolls as twins in the future, as i like the idea of consistency in size for my collection long term. I have a Coffee tan Mikki coming who should be fairly similiar in proportion to Talyssa, although one will have the Mei Mei body and one the msd but i don't think there will be much difference.
they are a little different in height, but they look like they belong together. i like to have different heights/proportions in my doll world since there is a lot of variety in the real world. but they have to look realistic. the only way i can see to put gracie with my other dolls would be to used forced perspective photography.
Hi Everyone! Just stopping in to say I love the new light tan! My sun kissed Mei mei just arrived and the color is gorgeous. I took a comparison photo of her next to my light tan Layla but I can't seem to post it here. I'll try to include my Flickr link in case your interested Kaye Wiggs light tan Layla and light tan Mei Mei
That IS a nice resin color. So was she sold as "sun=kissed" or "light tan"? You mentioned both so I'm (as usual ) confused.
Sorry! She was just listed as tan Mei Mei. She is much lighter than my tan Layla (not pictured). She is much closer in color to my sunkissed Layla, but the color is really peachy in real life. I was wondering if this is a new tan color.
I do think that's a new tan color. I have a tan Nelly and tan Cinnamon and they look a bit different (darker, probably more like your tan Layla), which is what prompted me to ask.
Kaye Wiggs sun kissed Layla and Tan Mei Mei by Dollique, on Flickr[/IMG] Everyone's dolls are so lovely! I finally figured out how to post photos. Thanks Saraht! Here is what the new tan looks like on Mei Mei.
Your girls are adorable. The new tan is such a soft and warm colour. I love Mei Mei in this colour resin
Thank you! Yes it is a lovely color. I wish Layla was still being made so she could be made in this new color too.
All these girls are so cute. Kaye Wiggs was the very first dolls I ever came across and wanted. (nelly) quick question- I never got one- are they more built like the width of an American Girl Doll?
Just love these girls LaurieESW!!! Wow what a beautiful Miki. Gorgeous pic Shes so adorable Tatty!!! Such a sweet face!! So pretty What a cutie Saraht. Those colors fit her perfectly. Gorgeous pic Melody Martin. She looks so sweet.
My mom decided to order a Gracie, and I've run into an interesting problem as I prep a basket of goodies (doll clothes, shoes, a teddy bear, etc.) to surprise her when Gracie comes. Does Gracie wear 7-8 or 8-9 wigs? I'm running into conflicting information here at best.
Thank you. I was so fortunate to come along to collecting Kaye's dolls when there was an extra sale of Essie dolls. Essie is so special to me. Your soft pink Larissa is gorgeous! Thank You. Your two KW girls are so beautiful, love them both! Congrats! Gracie is so precious!! Welcome to Kaye's dolls. Nelly is a beauty, I would love one...maybe one day. Kaye's dolls are not as wide bodied as the American girl dolls. Here is a photo of Essie with an American Girl sized BJD. Mazey and Essie (full) by Laurie W, on Flickr So cute!! Thank You. :-) I have used both sizes. It depends on the stretch of the wig and if it runs larger or smaller. I have used some Monique 7-8 stretchy wigs, with a silicone wig cap to help hold in place. However, I think I have more wigs sized for an 8/9 head for my Kaye dolls than the smaller size.
She is wonderful! I love the way you have styled her. How adorable! I am crazy about your Gracie. Beautiful,! Love this girl! Just precious. Oh! Love this adorable photo-what a sweet rabbit. The background is perfect with your choice of fashion for Gracie.
My first darker resin doll has arrived - coffee tan Miki and i am over the moon with the wonderful colour. She is such a striking doll. I just love her strong features and will be having lots of fun with her 20160806_112859 by Sarah Taylor, on Flickr
Tan Layla has come home to stay, this time, never more to roam! She joins big sister Tobi. I'll try to get photos in the next day or two, to share.
Thanks! I usually make 'butterfly' wings for my fairies, but opted for 'dragon' wings this time instead.
