Hi Kaye - two measurements my mom was curious about - ... from her waist to her ankle and also from the top of the shoulder to the wrist? I am sooo soooo excited about her.
The foot measures about one and a half inches long by about half an inch wide. Sorry if it's going to be hard to get shoes for her
Thanks Wee_Little_Faerie for the colours ... you are so clever! I love the lilac Her foot is 3.7cm long by 1.5cm wide ... or about 1 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide. Tinybear .. Did you find any shrinkage in your dolls when they were molded and cast? I'm thinking if there is a little shrinkage she might fit Lati yellow special shoes.
Juju's Dolly Mall may well have shoes that will fit - they have so many sizes for so many dolls. I just go by the nearest measurement of the foot length... these look about right... http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/dept?dpt=H&srch=DW&tier2=32 or the next size up... http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/dept?dpt=H&srch=DW&tier2=57 My little one will probably go barefoot until I've got her, measured her feet and ordered from JuJu's... Unless there are shoes that fit her already in my vast stash of dolly stuff. Teddy
Hi All, I heard from Dennis today and they are almost finished making the molds. Dennis asked for the colour choices for the orders so he must be getting close to casting!! I emailed the colour choices to him right away but there's a few who haven't chosen yet so I'm afraid I did some guess work .. hope no one will be disappointed!
I've got some exciting news!!! I just heard from Dennis and Sage is cast and they are just sanding them now!! Here's some pics Dennis sent me of the colours. ooohhh look at the little heads!!! LOVE the light tan colour! Now I'm getting REALLY excited!!
Anyone want to know how many of each colour we have ordered? If you don't want to know close your eyes now 23 normal skin 11 white 10 light tan 3 blue 2 lilac 1 green
Hi greeniebone ... I don't know if I will do another order for her but I have had some cancellations so I will have some spare dolls when they arrive and once I figure out how many I have left and what colour they are I will offer those for sale. Thanks for being patient guys and girls They can't be too much longer! I emailed Dennis today and asked for a sample doll so hopefully he will be able to send that and I can weigh her and check her out and show pics while we are waiting for the remainder to be finished. Kaye
Good news!!!! I heard from Dennis just now and the dolls are all ready to be packed and shipped ... not sure how long it will take to pack them. Here's a pic Dennis sent me of all the little pixies in a box!! does anyone other then me think that is cute!!? I can see one green foot in there!! Getting excited again
I've been busting to tell everyone and now the magazine is out there so I can!! Sage is pictured in the August Haute Doll magazine Here's one of her pics. Punky Sage And here is one of her with her big sister Mallory
Sage is sitting in customs in Sydney!!!!! Hurry .. hurry!! Thanks everyone I'm "itching" to see the article myself. I am hoping my magazine arrives soon. Stella Maris ... where can I see the KingKong boots? Hope the do fit!! Thought I would sneek in a pic of the next doll I'm sending to Dennis .. same body as Sage .. just a new head. Hope I am allowed to do this here!!? I'm not taking preorders on this one .. just thought I would get some cast and then sell them when they were finished.
hi All, The first Sage has arrived at her new home and her new Mom was sweet enough to let me know she has a few problems. I REALLY appreciate her feedback and I wanted to let everyone know what to expect of your Sage and if anyone is unhappy let me know and I will rectify any problems. Firstly .. taking her head off won't unstring her .. I left a long piece of elastic tied to the body stringing elastic so it won't shoot down into her body. Just pull on the thin elastic "tails" that are curled up in the head and remove the metal bar and slip the head off. Secondly ... I have carved a slot in the top, back area of her lower torso .. this is for her upper torso to slot into so she can sit forward. Now for the problems!! the ball joint in her arms have been cut down too low so her arms tend to pop up in the bent position .. I don't know how to fix this I have tried different stringing tensions and can't seem to remedy it. I find if I pull down on the lower arm (to stretch the elastic a bit) as I straighten the arm it helps some. Her upper and lower torso don't fit together snugly .. I think the factory added clay to the inside of the upper torso to smooth it out before molding and it affected the way the body fits together. I carved out some of the resin which improved it a little but still is not fitting snugly. Her legs don't fit together nicely when she sits. I did get this fixed a little better than it was by carving out some of the resin in the stringing hole at the top of the legs to extend the hole to the inside leg area and some on from the stringing holes in the leg sockets on her lower torso. To be honest I was worried about holding up shipping too long on the dolls once they had been paid for so I just made the alterations so she could stand and sit reasonably well then I sent them out even though I was not 100% happy with them ... stupid thing for me to do If those who's dolls are already shipped would like to send her back I can try to remedy the sitting thing .. I may be able to sand down some of the upper leg area or maybe some of the lower body leg sockets and that may help bring her legs together better. I think it's mostly her right leg that is causing problems so hopefully I can get it sorted out quickly. If you want to send her back let me know and I'll pay shipping for her. If you would like to try to do it yourself I will send instructions on where to sand (once I work it our myself!!) I am going to delay shipping anymore dolls until I have this sorted out!! I soooooooo apologise to everyone for this. I feel sooo bad I initially thought I might have been being too much of a perfectionist (as I do have those tendencies) but now that the first person to receive her has complained it has made me realise it was not just me being fussy and I should have been more thorough before shipping any dolls. Once I get her sorted I'll post pics of her so you can see she is OK! Thanks everyone Kaye
Thanks everyone for being so understanding .. you are wonderful and make me feel so happy to be part of the BJD world I've been working on her and getting some improvement so I'll contine until I have her just right. I have discovered the arm thing can be fixed easily without any modification .. just turn to lower arm a little and it will stay in the straight position. The problem with the legs seems to be just her right leg so hopefully will be an easy fix. I'm have been sanding the ridge around the ball joint and it is helping. I'm hoping to have the problems all sorted soon so I will post pics later today. thanks everyone for being so sweet. Kaye
OK here's some pics of her in different positions!! I think this is probably the best I can do with her .. if I make anymore alterations I am afraid she will not stand properly. She can stand unaided When sitting on the edge of the bench without using the slot in her back she leans back When sitting with the slot engaged she leans forward Front view of her sitting on the edge of the bench .. her legs still can not come together at the thigh area *** continued in next post ..
When sitting with her legs extended in front and the slot at back not engaged she leans back Sitting with legs extended and the slot engaged front view of her sitting with legs extended and slot engaged .. as you can see her legs will not come together and I have slightly bent her knees so her feet touch the shelf. If her knees are not bent her feet are a little way off the shelf. I don't think there is anymore I can do to improve her because I am afraid of making too many alterations to her ball joints and maybe she won't stand! The complaints I have received are because her legs will not meet together at the thighs and she can't sit straight without the slot engaged at the back. I can't seem the rectify this so if anyone is unhappy and does not want their doll I will refund. The only problem is I have spent the money I have received in payments on my new computer so I will sell some of my other dolls to pay customers back .. it just make take a week or two to get all the refunds sent. I apologise for all this .. I really do not know what else to do. Hugs, kaye
My gorgeous girl is here! Its too dark now for any decent photos but I took some in the bathroom thinking you would rather see her in a boring place than wait until tomorrow She stood unaided straight from the box, I have had no arm issues at all. She is so stunning, her faceup is to die for I love love love her, look at her ears I think she is called Nerissa or Bondi not fully decided yet. Thank you Kaye, noone is going to be disappointed
Kizzy not so impressed she has to share some clothes Fits Barbie shorts perfectly her butt is too cute. Changed her eyes yummy girl
Thank you!! I got the dress from an Etsy seller. It's a Blythe dress and is a little snug around the chest, but I love it. I think Boo will be fun to dress! Az
OMG all these girls are so cute! I can't wait to have my girl T____________T They're so so so pretty! All your mods look great and I'm sure she can't be so bad. -huuuuuuuuuuuuug- thanks for working so hard to make us happy Kaye. You're an angel! Oh I'm sorry to hear that people are asking for refunds. That's just horrible, especially since none of it was your fault. Anyway if you're planning on getting Cinnamon cast I'll pay for her upfront to help you pay for refunds. It really sucks that people wouldn't be understanding about this after all Sage is abosolutely adorable looking!
Thanks everyone for your support and understanding ... I appreciate it very much. I am a perfectionist and want my dolls to meet a certain standard or I am not happy with them. I want my customers to be happy and enjoy any doll they buy from me. Therefore if any of my customers are unhappy I will always offer a refund. So far no one is returning their dolls for a refund and only a couple have asked for a refund of their deposit so just put it down to me doing a panic when I had some complaints. I always want my dealings with customers to be open and honest so that's why I let everyone know if there is a problem. The reason I haven't let Dennis know yet is because he said he would be away visiting his home town .. I think he returns this weekend so I will be contacting him this week. Dennis is great to work with and I'm sure he will be very helpful in getting the body right before I have him cast anymore dolls. The Bobobie resin is very nice and I love the colours and they did an excellent job of casting and sanding etc .. I think the factory may have been overly meticulous in smoothing her inside and out when preparing the parts for molding (and that's a good thing with lumpy originals .. if anyone has looked inside my big girls they will know what I mean!!). But Sage is such a tiny little thing that any little alteration can change her posing ability. Actually, I'm think this might be a blessing in disguise and I might sculpt a new body with a three part torso so the new pixies can bend and twist anyway they want AND I think my two new heads need a less mature bust area as the faces are younger looking soooooooo ... I can have fun and be creative again. Thank you ..thank you ... thank you everyone Kaye
Hi All, My Kingkong shoes arrived today ... they kinda' fit!! They are too small but with some coaxing you can get them on. They are awfully cute
I tried some 12mm eyes in Bondi today and I think I prefer them with the less white .. I may need to find them in the aqua green. These are flat backed kemper eyes, the round eyes I have dont fit flush These boots fit perfectly and only $2.99 a pair. Make sure its the regular not the micro blythe if you are ordering. Her jacket is made for dollzone Jing but it fits nicely over her hands. Tonner Marley skirts are too big on the waist but tops fit, the jacket I have would fit perfectly if I took off her hands so stretchy ones would be fine. I just ordered a ton of barbie cali stuff from ebay. This girl is going to live in boardies and t-shirts My little Mouse (kkotmu) may even start smiling now she knows there really is such things as elves This is the boots link http://cgi.ebay.com/Blythe-Pullip-S...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Well, since everyone wants to see pictures of Sage....here a few more! It's so fun to share them! I can't decide which wig I like better... I have found that the 11 1/2" playdoll Hanna Montana clothings fits Sage great and that style is just the type I picture her in. The Barbie Fashion clothing is pretty close as well. I'm just getting started finding her new clothes because I have no dolls this size already. At least, these are pretty reasonably priced as far as doll clothing. I'm anxious to see if the boots I ordered will fit her. I'm crossing my fingers!!!
ME ME! I have photos! The lighting's not great cause it was night time... and the dishes are because the best lighting is in the kitchen :P ENJOY! more photos on my blog (in a few minutes :P)
OK, I don't have much time, the baby is crying, there are dishes everywhere, the dog wants out ,etc! But, I WANT TO PLAY!!! My Sage is finally here and I don't have much time, but I wanted to post at least one picture for you guys, to see how cute she is! I am experimenting with her look, but I call this her "Punky Alice" look......LOL! So, what do you think????
Stella Maris, I got it on Ebay, where else??.....LOL! I think it was advertised as made for Momoko/pullip, maybe? It's very snug, but it fits. I have a TON of clothes to go through, to see what all fits, and what doesn't. BTW, I posted lots of pics in the "Box Opening" section of DOA, in case anyone wants to see Sage's arrival from the very beginning! I have to say, I have never received a doll, from ANY company, that was packed as well, or carefully, as this one was! And, the handwritten note was just such a classy, and loving touch. Here's a peek at what Sage looked like when she first arrived: Angel or alien?? And here's one of her in a thoughtful looking pose: And here's the little guy who is conspiring to not let me play with MY toys, but only wants me to help him play with HIS toys.......LOL!
oh Roni ... she is so cute in those clothes .. love how you dressed her Love your baby too .. what a face Anyone want to see a lineup of dolls getting their faceups?? Haven't glossed the lips or put the eyelashes on yet!! Sorry it's not such a great pic and I haven't done the green one yet. I'll take better pics later.
Im supposed to be working ...but here you go ..I had to share my beautiful Sage one of my wigs ...face-up and body blush by me too ...she is the most adorable little girl
OK, does anyone mind if I spam just a TEENY bit more of my little Sage?? I'm calling her Sage because I had planned on calling her Macy, but she just doesn't like that name, and really, it doesn't fit her at all......so until she tells me her name, Sage it is! OK, as we were getting ready for bed last night, she wanted to try on a couple different types of jammies..........which ones do you like best?? And this cute lil' nightgown that I got her was a tad too big, but she insisted on wearing it anyway! (I thought it looked adorable!) The black one piece jammies are from Tonner's Alice Dreary line, they fit perfectly! And finally all ready to settle down for the night!
Roni your girl is adorable! Where did you get that cute little bed for her? Also did you get the PM I sent you?
Yay a huge package of clothes arrived from ebay today. All barbie cali/myscene. Every skirt and top fitted perfectly. All the shorts fitted too. No pants unfortunately but I expect they would fit just need cutting shorter. The jackets were mixed, if you wanted to remove her hands they would all fit perfectly. The stretchier fabrics and cardigans all fitted well I was hoping ken shoes may fit but her foot is wider. She now has a huge wardrobe, even has a little rashie and pair of boardies so cute. I like this outfit, shows off that gorgeous little belly.
Voila! A brand new place for sage spam http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3473113#post3473113
I'm not sure I even remember how to post photos but here goes--- Sage in a Barbie set. She can wear the pants as they are very stretchy This is a photo of her face-- And this shows the entire Barbie pants and top. The jacket might have fit like someone else mentioned if I cut open the sleeves but her hands are too large.
Now I want to know where to get her stockings and/or socks and what other clothing might fit her. My Bambicrony items are too large, as are the Special Lati Yellow as she's so slender. I'd appreciate any help as I hate to think she only has this and perhaps one pair of Barbie overalls she will be able to wear. I'd love to get her a skirt and some stockings too. Anyone sewing for her?
Teddy, glad to hear that your girl isn't lost! I hate that you have to pay customs, but at least you know where little Sage is!! Merle, where did you get those little ballet slippers?? They are SOOOOOO cute!! Imajica...........I have a pair of shoes, they're not "real" Marley shoes, but from a seller that advertised them as being "for Marley, Agnes, etc." and I couldn't get them on my Sage's feet! I see that yours is wearing the little sneakers & such just fine though, so I'm wondering if either A. I got a defective pair of shoes, or, B. maybe it's just the style that won't work, I have the shiny black Mary Janes with a bow on top. *Oh, and I love her in the eyes and wig in that last picture, she looks really pretty in those colors!
I got the shoes from JuJu's dolls mart. Judy sells on Ebay and also has a website. They are size 37mm shoes. But I do wish I had socks or stockings as her feet are so slender. The length is perfect. Her website -http://www.jujusdollymall.com/
I love the hsoes form JuJu's.... She has several styles of shoes, boots, sneakers and sandals in Marley size that should fit Sage as well as some the same length but wider for other dolls. Once I see how good/close a fit my current Marley shoes are, I'll probably order some from JuJu's taking into her notes on whether each style is sized to fit over socks, pantyhose or bare feet. Teddy
Maybe its the style. The sandals are Marleys own and the maryjanes are sold "to fit" Marley. Thats a shame its probably just luck then. Judy from jujus dolly mall is great though if you email her your dolls measurements she will tell you which shoes to buy for a good fit
My Sage has arrived and, even unpainted, is adorable! Marley sandals (genuine Tonner ones) fit without socks, but are tight across the toe, maryjanes (again, genuine Tonner ones) fit in length but only without socks and are *very* tight across the toes... so I think the Ju'Ju's shoes that are the same length but wider (for 10" Creedy etc http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/dept?dpt=H&srch=DW&tier2=57 http://www.jujusdollymall.com/images/FlatsCSlg.JPG) might fit better, especially with socks. Pictures will have to wait until I have time to take them and then play the processing-through-several-different-computers game to get them on-line. I have a few wigs and a stack of clothes with me to try on her - but that will have to wait until coffee-break. Currently, she's in a size 22 Boneka mocked dress which is a great fit. Teddy
I spent lunchtime trying some outfits on my Sage. Marley stockings are the right length but tend towards a little loose. Marely tops fit fine, as do trousers and skirts with elasticated waists, but with normal waists they are too big and slide right down over the hips. Haven't tried a Marley dress yet - I'd expect the length to be fine but the waist to be a bit loose. Boneka (my favourite place for doll clothes) clothes for the 9 inch/size 22 dolls fit nicely if you don't mind skirts being shorter length, the 10inch/size 24 ones are good for length but a *little* wide. Anything with long sleeves in the 9inch(size 22) is 3/4 length in the sleeves... The 10inch (size 24) are *nearly* long enough in the sleeves too. Some of the Riley sized Boneka clothes (size 18) and the next sizes up (19/20) are fine in width but very short. Short sleeved dresses make reasonable babydoll tops, and short sleeves tops fit OK. Long sleeved tops again are 3/4 lenght in the sleeves or shorter (just the right length to look *wrong*, if you see what I mean). I'll try trousers for Riley and DJ on her when I get home (didn't bring any with me) they'll probably fit as long-shorts or knee britches. I'll post pictures when/if I get around to it. The smocked Boneka dresses in particular look adorable on her, and she's currently sat by my computer wearing denim dungarees embroidered with flowers down the legs (size 22 or 24, I forget which) which come to mid calf. Teddy
Come on guys! post some more photos over here!!! http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230563&highlight=sage
Finially got a face on her. Not too many clothes yet--only one wig--but she is begging!! Don't have a name yet either, but here she is:
Just a couple of new pics. Oh, and she finally has a name! I was searching and searching through baby name sites, and finally found a name that jumped out at me, and it was the perfect one........"Bellatrix", it means "female warrior" in Latin, and it represents a Star, because it's also the name of the star that marks the left shoulder of the constellation "Orion". I'll call her "Bella" for her everyday name......(and now I want to get a tattoo on MY left shoulder that says Bellatrix)!! What's weird about this, is that several months ago, when I was researching different words and phrases for a potential tattoo that I was going to get on the back of my neck, I had found the word "Bellatrix" and it's meaning, and had written it in one of my notebooks........and then promptly forgot all about it! After I found the name today for Sage, I remembered it and went and dug it out......what a "coincidence"! OK, sorry to ramble......on to the photos! Here is Bella inviting you all to tea: And walking her new little puppy: Oh, and here's one more look, this is a dress that I bought here on DOA. It came with the little belt and necklace, I just fell in love with it when I saw it, and knew it would be perfect for Bella! Thanks for looking!!
Oh Roni, your Bellatrix is soooo darling! What wig is she wearing & where oh where did you get those shoes???
Thanks!! The wig is a J-Pop wig called "Long Kana" in a color called "Terra". I got it on their website, I haven't seen that color on Ebay I don't think. Here are the sneakers, I got a few colors.......they're sold for YOSD dolls, and they are big on her, but I like them, I think they're cute, plus they stabilize her when she's standing....LOL! (and you can't beat the price, and they deliver super fast, even from Korea!) I'm not sure how to put in a link, so I don't know if this will work or not......here goes: nevermind, just copy and paste this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=370064354739&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=024
I love seeing everyone's girls. Great to see you are having fun with her. I thought you might like to see Sage in some of the Jpop wigs. I particularly love the New Kana on her ... it's a bit smaller than the Kana long so fits her well. Looks great braided too. This one is New Kana blood and chelate (I think that's what it says .. the label is a bit faded.) it's a gorgeous red brown .. sorry it doesn't look much like that in the pic but it was on dusk when I took it .. I'll replace the pic later. This one is Piccadilly, Asia-Asia .. it's black with strawberry blonde layer under the black ... VERY nice wig. Another New kana wig in darkest chocolate. This one doesn't have the name on the bag but I'm sure Grace will know what it's called .. it's a pretty silvery white colour. Thanks to Kris for letting me use her girl as a model
OK, I finally got the photos of my (as yet unpainted, and temporarily wigged) Sage (Willowbark) onto my Photobucket account so I can post them here. They aren't necessarily very good shots but there are, however, a lot of them as I have a lot of dolls clothes in various sizes and wanted to illustrate how well (or not) they fit her. So I'll post a few here and some over in the Sage Spam thread. My favourite dress on Willowbark so far, a size 22 from Boneka - long sleeved dresses in this size are 3/4 length on Sage (this wig is too big and the ribbon is the only thing keepingit in place) Cute short overalls which are full-length on Kish Riley and DJ (size 18 form Boneka) and a Marley Wentworth T-shirt. Size 20 kish smocked dress, makes a good babydoll top with jeans or shorts (as do size 18 and 19 dresses) so long as you go for the short-sleeved styles. Another size 18 Boneka outfit. This one is full length in both sleeve and skirt on Riley. The only Barbie dress I own. Fits pretty well, actually, but I hate it (very few Barbie clothes are in styles I like) Tonner Tiny Kitty/Simone Rouge - this is the only garment I have in this size but it's the best fit so far. Marley Wentworth PJ's... length is perfect, stuff is a tad loose in the body and limbs, Trousers have elasticated wasit. Anything (jeans/skirts etc) fitted to the waist will be too lose for Sage (waist slips right over Sage's hips without being unfastened!). Riley waistcoat and Marley tights - tights are too loose to fit well. I have many more examples, if people find them helpful Teddy
OK everyone! I just posted the info on the next preorder .. http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3516940#post3516940 Kaye I just posted this in the for sale thread and thought I would post it here too ..
I'm just arrived in France (south of France), it's hot so I have stole a barbie swim suit I'm pretty I know look at my hair, it's horrible! I wait another wig, but Bridget think I'm funny with it
OK, I posted these on the Gallery, and didn't get even ONE response.......so I hope no one minds if I post them here?? I thought maybe you guys would be a tad more interested?? I don't want to bore anyone with too much spam, but I just love this little girl SO much, and can't stop taking pics of her........LOL! OK, so we went to Gram's house for the day, out in the country, and I had to take some Bella pics in the flowers........... She couldn't understand why this fairy wouldn't talk to her! She took a magical ride on a flamingo......... And she picked her Mom some flowers! I saw a little magic too........ Thanks for looking!
OK, and this one is not even MY fault! Bella got a manicure and pedicure, and wanted to at least show off her fingernails! (Check out the googly eyes on the front of her dress, isn't that the cutest??)
My little girl arrived the other day and she is just amusing as all get out! I love her! I'll work on getting some photos up. PS: I ran some pipe cleaners up her arms and that helped a TON with their posing range (like, now she can bend her hands up and touch her face without holding them there...) in case anyone was looking for a quick, cheap, easy way for a little more poseability.
