An aspect of the BJD hobby which I hadn’t considered before I started was looking for miniature or scale objects. I recently acquired this laquered Japanese cabinet which is perfect for keeping Katie’s clothes in. She seems to like it. Thank you for stopping by and looking.
Wow, what a fabulous find! My daughter found a Korean apothecary chest (human size). She would love this!
I love it...and obviously Katie does, too! I also love your photography skills - gorgeous photos and lighting.
What a cool cabinet! Did you make it, or was it a lucky find somewhere? It's really gorgeous, and seems perfect for Katie.
The cabinet really adds to the photos, and your posing choices are what bring it all together! Very lovely
Thanks very much, I do love Oriental furniture of all sizes and I'll bet your daughter's apothecary chest is gorgeous. I think Katie's very lucky to have this one as I've never seen anything similar in this size. Thanks SteamWitch, I am biased but she is adorable and cool. I might be Ipled soon too, I've fallen for the Soo sculpt. Thank you for your kind comments, and on my photography. It's a hobby which goes well with BJD's as they make the perfect model and have so much patience when setting up a shoot. The lighting was natural and she was set up on a bed next to a window. The amount of black can be a little tricky. Thanks very much. I didn't make it, oh how I wish I was that skilled, but no, I actually got it from my mother who has no idea where she got it from. A very lucky find I think and at the moment I can get all her clothes and accessories in it. Thank you very much, very kind. I like to try and get some different poses in a shoot as if she were a model but posing BJD's is not always easy and she can be a tricky little monkey at times. Thank you Osaka, yes, I consider myself very lucky getting that cabinet and with Katie's penchant for black it does really suit her. I'd like to try to get some Japanese clothing and try a totally Oriental shoot.
Thank you very much, yes I'm feeling rather pleased (and so is Katie) about this acquisition. I'm really pleased that you like my photographs too, It's my other hobby and I'm still trying to get to grips with manual control of the camera.
What a great prop- the cabinet is beautiful; great piece for your photos! And I like how it's a storage for your Katie's clothes. Also, I love your girl's style very much. Where did you get her boots? I'm looking for something similar for an SD13 boy I have (who shares the same taste in clothing as Katie)
Thank you very much krystina, yeah it's really handy that the cabinet doubles as actual furniture for her. Mmm Katie's very interested to know there's a handsome boy out there with the same tastes. . She's looking forward to seeing him sometime. The boots. Yes, I got them together with her skirt and blouse from Wamami on E-bay. I know E-bay is not always to be trusted but there are a few members here who have used them and they were recommended to me by a friend. I've found them to be superb. The quality and finish of the items is lovely, they dispatch very quickly, often within a day and arrive quickly too. They're also quite cheap too and I've used them again for eyes. So, have a look at the Wamami shop on E-bay and I hope you can get some for your boy.
lol I'll definitely post pictures when I complete his look! I've shopped at Ebay before with Jeeryama - its nice to know Wamami shop has good customer relations too. I'll definitely check the shop out and thank you!
i remember trying to find some in scale chests of drawers for mine but I gave up eventually long ago and now they all have just plastic giant tupperware boxes xD
