Warning Kasuouh

Feb 22, 2022

    1. Kasuouh contacted me about my marketplace advert for a Luts Vino head. We arranged the sale via DMs. Kasuouh paid on Jan 8th 2022 and I shipped the head out on 12th Jan. The head arrived on the 20th and Kasuouh kindly let me know it had arrived.

On 16th Feb 2022 I received a Paypal notification that Kasuouh had issued a 'unauthorised payment' charge back for a full refund. No information was given to the reason and Kasuouh has not contacted me about it. (The disputed amount is censored as shows buyers country, the disputed amount is for the full amount of $105)

I disputed the chargeback by submitting a copy of the DMs showing the buyer was aware they were buying an item, that they received it and was happy with it. I also submitted a copy of the postal service receipt and a screen shot of the tracking showing the head was delivered. This is to prove that I have fulfilled my duty as a seller by using an appropriate postal service and making sure the buyer received the item.

Paypal has reviewed the case and agreed that I had met my duty as a seller and can be entitled to Seller's protection. This means the buyer's bank will cover the cost of the refund instead of me being forced to pay it.

I would not recommend selling to Kasuouh as either they are a minor (and responsible adult requested the chargeback) or they are a scammer.

    3. Hi. You could've messaged me about this to sort it out. I had an issue with the card I used on paypal due to some paypal fraudulent transactions, and the card was cancelled.
I am in contact with my bank sorting through the issue one by one. I need my bank to contact paypal since they were the one who filled the dispute with them. They are able to do it swiftly with no issues as this happened with another transaction I did on paypal.

I've contacted my bank to report the issue and they will get back to me within 3 working days.
The email below is from my bank just now. They should be able to resolve this with no issues, like the previous one, within a week.

    5. Hello, thank you for kindly responding to this post and explaining your side of the situation. I'm sorry to hear that you've had to deal with fraud, that's never fun and I hope you can sort it out without too much further stress.

I'm happy to accept that the situation was accidental and you were unaware of what had happening. I think this can be marked as resolved once you are able to post the response back from Paypal :thumbup

    6. @Epicari
Thank you for understanding. I will definitely get back to you with a response once the issue gets resolved.
Since it's Friday here, my bank may reply to me by next week Mon-Fri.
Apologies for the trouble this has caused you.

My bank has resolved the issue on their end last week, charging it back to my new card, and I provided documents on paypal's resolution center as per advised by their customer support, stating that the transaction was mistakenly reported by my bank and that it was an authorized transaction.
Paypal has closed the case as resolved. I do not see the issue on the transaction on my end as well.
I sent a chaser message to paypal to confirm if everything was resolved properly.
Hopefully the issue has been taken care of.

    8. Hello, I've also had an update on my side. When the chargeback was issued, Paypal immediately took the refund from my account. As I didn't have enough money in the account to cover it, the Paypal account was overdrawn and I could not use it until the debt was cleared. As mentioned in my original post, Paypal had decided that because I used a tracked service so could prove the item was sent/received that I met the requirements to get Seller's Protection.

Paypal sent me an update on 4th March confirming the chargeback has been decided in the buyer's favour. Seller's Protection means the refund will be given by the buyers bank instead of me. Paypal has now returned the money taken from my account and my account is now back to normal.
