Eyes Kanis Augen

Mar 9, 2005

    1. Show me your Kanis Augen eyes!

    2. The K. eyes on the LeekeWorld website are in fact Kanis Augen eyes. They retail in price ranges from $65 to $85, depending on what kind of eyes you're looking for. You can always buy them a little cheaper through Kanis Augen themselves (which will cost you about $55 for a pair, not to mention the astronomical 72 euros needed for shipping).

Here's a pair of 18mm Turquoise Iris Rim eyes in my Blue Fairy WS Jerome.

    3. Eventually, I'll have some really good pics of these once the doll they belong to actually arrives ... but for now:

    4. surefall ~ I just saw your pictures in the Enchanted doll eyes picture request thread! Are you, by any chance, looking for the perfect blue pair of eyes? ;)

I took this delightful picture of Nasreen the other day with her Kanis-Augen grey-green iris rim eyes. They are AMAZING! :D See how they each look a different color? They color changes beautifully depending on how the light hits them. I highly recommend these eyes. They are my favorites along with the ED/Sweety/Milky eyes. :)

16 mm Iris Rim vs 14 mm Reborn

Reborn eyes has pretty big iris and pupil. It suits best with my Lady Bee from Peak's Woods but too large for other tiny dolls.

I find that KA eyes have smaller pupils than usual, so when the pupil touches the top lid, the bottom of the iris doesn't touch the bottom lid; which is annoying for me.

    17. here are some of mine, natural light.

Left eye is Reborn Doll Eyes Superior Round Dark Green 18mm.
Right is Reborn Doll Eyes Superiour Round Green 18mm.

    22. Would you say these are high dome eyes? The website didn't say as far as I can see, but the depth is unbelievable... And there is a color I really would like, this would help me decide.

    23. I have Kanis eyes in 6mm or 8mm (can't remember, sorry :sweat) in my Enyo, here is a picture:

Sorry I don't have a better picture at the moment, the detail in them is really great though! Almost all my eyes in my 20 dolls are Kanis eyes, they are so beautiful. :aheartbea

    24. OHHH, thanks! I'm thinking of buying them for my Geul (Domadoll), but i'm not sure. >____<
      What do you think? ;___;!

    25. Actually, these eyes basically have . . . no dome. I mean, they're just smooth in the front, completely. They're really great because you can position them however you like and the shape of the eyewell never interferes with positioning. ^^

      See? xD

All of my dolls have Kanis Augen eyes now. >>

    26. tiffanykou, could you tell me what colors are these eyes?

      I look lovely! :aheartbea

    27. Just got my eyes from Kanis. I found the categories on their site a little confusing, so I ordered two different kinds to compare. Top is "Nature Eyes" in "Superior" quality, 12mm, dark blue; bottom is "Doll Eyes" in "Standard" quality, 10mm, grey.

(NB: after getting the pics on my computer I noticed they're not all 100% in focus, I can retake the fuzzy ones upon request.)

      Here's a rundown:
      - neither eyes have a paperweight/dome
      - with the Nature Eyes, the iris and pupil sit on the surface of the eye, creating a sharp & focused look
      - with the Doll Eyes, the iris and pupil are recessed into the eye with a layer of clear crystal on top, creating depth & shadow
      - the Nature Eyes have well-defined lines in the iris (or "iris rays" per Kanis)
      - the Doll eyes have thin, subtle lines in the iris, which don't always show up on camera (or in person, even)
      - I can't tell any difference in quality of materials

Based on the information on the website, I would assume that the "Dark Rim Eyes" and "Iris Muscle Eyes" are similar to the "Doll Eyes", but with a darker rim around the iris/a different color around the pupil respectively.

Overall, the Nature Eyes do look more realistic and alive to me, whereas the Doll Eyes have a softer, dreamier look with more dimension. All depends on what you personally prefer! :kitty2
