Shopping Kanis Augen closing up shop

    1. Hello! I hope it's ok to put it here (of course mods feel free to move it to a another place if needed, I wasn't sure if anything else is more appropriate).


      Kanis Augen is sadly closing their business! They're selling off their leftover stock so if anyone has had they eye (heh) on some of their products, now's a good time to still grab some. I recently asked them about custom orders and they didn't mention anything about this, but I just came upon the notice on their site - there are not many companies making/selling doll items in Europe like this so it's really sad to see them go, especially after 34 years of business.

      I know their eyes are very loved here so I just thought I'd give a heads up!

      a heartfelt thank you for the somewhat sad news. Excellent glass eyes! Too bad.
      But perhaps the neighbors in Lauscha are an alternative. Lauschaer Glasaugen - they recently opened an Etsy shop in addition to their own. The eyes also good. I bought some years ago.

    4. Very sad news. Most of my dolls have Kanis eyes. I love their eyes very much and always tried to recommend them to other doll owners in Europe. My last order from them was barely a month ago.
       
    5. I ordered 5 pairs, but in 5 working days, my order is still processing. Is this normal or would it be with the clearance sale right now? I don't know if this is a small business.
       
    6. Don't worry. They'll send you an invoice to pay (if they haven't yet), and they ship in a few days. AFAIK it was a very small business.

    7. Yeah, like lutke said, it is a very small business - I think it's just mr Kanis doing everything, maybe with some help from the family sometimes. The invoice will take a few days to come, but you can always send a mail or call if you have any worries about it.

    9. Thank you for the information. I haven‘t visited their webshop in ages. It is really a shame, most of my dolls (at least the resin ones) wear Kanis eyes.
      Years ago we went on a trip to Lauscha to visit the museum and to look for the glass work and christmas decoration. There I went to Kanis and was able to purchase some really nice eyes. That was a fun day.

      @Rosinha : I ordered on Tuesday and got the invoice today. So it shouldn‘t take long anymore.

    10. @Godzilla you mean Tuesday of this week? Because I ordered 29th of January, so then something would be going on.
       
    11. Yes, February 3rd. But as they stated, it could take up to one week.

    13. You might check your spam filter if you haven't yet, my payment email ended up there and I didn't see it for several days.
       
    14. I ordered Jan 28 and got my invoice 3 days later. I had some problems with the e-shop, though, so I also contacted Kanis directly which might have sped it up. In case you ordered eyes with bjd/shorter stems, it might be that it takes longer because they need to be shortened still, but I would in any case contact them just to make sure all is in order.
       
    15. You are also in Germany, though, right? I did order bjd type stems, and 5 pairs, so that might be it. I checked spam, @babezoid , thanks.
       
    16. Yeah, I am also in Germany and did not order BJD stems (stupidly, might I add - I just forgot to click the option :sweat). Kanis said my order was packed up when the invoice was sent so they'll finish everything before dealing with the payment.
       
    17. It turned out they had sent the invoice on Feb. 1st already, but got the email address wrong. I paid on Monday and hopefully will get my parcel soon. Do they send shipping notifications?

    19. I haven't gotten one, yet. But I don't know if they ship only once a week or so. How long after you paid did they send the shipping notification?
       
    20. @Rosinha Last time I paid on Jan 11 and they shipped on Jan 15. Because they're probably receiving more orders than usual for clearance I would allow some extra time.
       
    21. @Rosinha - I only got a shipping notification from the courier a day or two before it was supposed to arrive, 3-4 days after paying the invoice. I'm not sure if Kanis does things differently for customers abroad, but I'd check in if you haven't received one for a while.
       
    22. I just got an email from the shipping service that they received the parcel. So it's on its way.
