Aug 2, 2019

    1. Our anniversary theme is Delicate Things:

Share photos of your most delicate dolls here.

Or photos shot to emphasize delicacy (close-ups of certain details or angles or lighting or poses)... whatever delicate means to you!

---Just comments are fine, too! :cake:

    2. This is Zymina she is a Elfdoll Catsy...she is by far the most delicate little one I have, but don't tell her that she thinks she is pretty fierce. She has her trusty stead Jack (souldoll bebe) to ride around on so she doesn't get stepped on by the other bigger resin's in the house...lol

    3. Dreaming Reaa, from Dollmore, is my first delicate doll.
Before that I only own tough guys from Granado ;)
It was a whole new experience.

My Argonautica Little Ifi! My first doll and my smallest. Everything about her is delicate, but her hands and little face are my favourite parts. She’s so dainty, she’s a dream to pose since everything feels so graceful.

    7. Kit, my DearMine Dante Classic, is my most delicate. She's sturdy and tough resin, but she's the only doll I have with a faceup and body blushing by an artist other than me, and Sour_Dotz did such a great job on her that I never want to chip her! So I handle her extra delicately, since I can't just repaint her like I do my others. She's also got the sweetest and most sensitive personality of my entire crew.:kitty2

    8. One of my most delicate is this guy, a Soom red Garion.
Delicate pointy nails on fingers? Check.
Delicate pointy horns on head? Check.
Delicate pointy ears on head (chipped one already!) Check.
Delicate special red resin that is lighter underneath? (rubbed a lighter spot on his face already!) Check.
      Argh!

    9. Last fall I made an outfit from leaves which made this doll my most delicate, leaves are too dry now to move around, and I hope to watch it fade into a leaf skeleton...

    10. “Delicate” is probably a good descriptor for Memento Mori and all those dang petals! Someday I’ll get him painted. Someday.

Smidge my DreamHigh Studio DOTY is my smallest and my most delicate. I had to take his wings away because they were going to pop off his tiny frame and I *will* lose them.

My most delicate doll is my Dollzone Minas/Sawarieda hybrid. Her petals are pretty thin, and I mostly keep her in her set up spot as I'm afraid of breaking her...

    13. Wow! He's so incredible! Please do share if you get him painted.

    14. I can't for the LIFE OF ME get it to come out in a picture (photography: it is not my strong point), but my doll has very fine sculpted veins on the backs of his hands which are veeeeeery lightly and delicately blushed bluish green. And then his nails are French manicured. The effect IRL is amazingly lifelike and I'm always amazed that I managed to do it and terrified to chip it because I'm not sure I could ever replicate the effect. (Seriously. His eyelashes were NOTHING compared to the frustration of trying to french tip those itty bitty nails.)

    15. I love seeing everyone's interpretation of delicacy :D Here is a doll that appears very delicate, my Shinydoll Akali:

but in reality, her resin and engineering are super sturdy!

    16. Yes, Gobbie appears delicate, but is actually pretty sturdy:

It's Ollie's hands that really always have me nervous:

    17. I haven't had this kiddo out of this creation I made last year for a contest at a local con, he just looks so delicate and frail in that big frilly dress. I love that he looks so much like a beautiful porcelain doll.

    20. I think Deedlit fits the idea of delicate. I think of dainty or petite, fairylike...

I just wish her personality matched her appearance more. :XD:

    21. I don't have too many delicate dolls... sure, faceups and blushing can be easily scratched on any of them. And some have irreplaceable pieces that can fall off and be lost... But most resin is a lot stronger than it looks.

My Miracledoll Viper/Snake Demon was totally well-wrapped when he was shipped to me, but he still managed to break a tiny little finger--the only time I've had a doll break a finger (and I've got nearly 100 bjds). He's tiny, which is one reason, although scale is hard to tell... tiny-sized, although with the tail he measures much bigger. He's got a ton of little spikes that look like they can break, too.

The Quadriga Dolls Myaree looks delicate. It's also tiny (11cm tall). The head plate is small and barely held on by a tiny magnet...

    22. My Xagadoll Sylvia Definitely my most "delicate" doll size-wise:

    23. My Elfdoll Rem. Mir is my most delicate doll! He took a tumble a couple years ago and I had to do extensive repair to his face :...( since then I have been traumatized lol! I rarely touch him but he's stays on display for me to admire his beauty! ( I am glad I was able to repair him!)

    24. This is one of the only full-body photos I have of Bhaqrin. He's difficult to move as he has pieces that can fall off (for instance I did not attach his tail in this photo), and his torso is top-heavy with the wings attached to him. He also has delicate wiring in his eyes to make them light up! He can stand on his own, but just to be on the safe side, I use a doll stand for him. He usually stands behind the other dolls due to his wingspan taking up so much space. I'd definitely say he's my most delicate to transport and move around.

He is a Ringdoll Red King with parts from three other dolls making up the body.

    25. This is my sweet little Luts dragon, Rumi. She has so much delicate airbrushing on all of her parts, it's a miracle to me that I haven't chipped or rubbed off any of it yet!

    26. My most delicat is my Dollzone Ivana. She's sooo thin and small. She can't even stand on her own. I'm always afraid her wings might break. Even her hair (which i made myself) is pretty delicate because if the yarn snags it could mess up
      [IMG]
Just look at her tiny hands!

    27. Size-wise, it would have to be my DreamHighStudio Gaia - SO tiny! She makes my pukipukis feel sturdy! And I live in fear of rubbing off the little white dots all over her body. Or having to go find spider-webbing should I ever have to restring her--
      [IMG]

Now, if you mean delicate, character-wise, that would have to be Tarrant. One of my earliest hybrid dolls, he's a Dollshe Bernard head on an Iple oYID-model body, has a head of hair way too ample for a male (or female for that matter, but Owner trumps all), has a backstory of a previous incarnation as a neglected Ken doll and a hesitant, shy personality now --
      [IMG]

And it's not a help that I torture him for holiday photoshoots:

    28. Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying the photos and explanations of everyones delicate darlings!

    29. Heron is for sure the most delicate of my crew. Also the smallest (of the human SDs, anyway; I do have an off-topic pet tiny).

    30. Without a doubt my most delicate doll is my Bohemia Rose. She is a Dollzone Anson and the company originally intended for her to be unlimited. But her sculpt was suddenly discontinued after only 3 months due to the difficulty in shipping those delicate petals. Fortunately she was an “instant grail” for me from the moment I laid eyes on her, and I moved heaven and earth to bring her home the instant she went on sale. She was my face-up/tattoo “masterpiece”, and has always been my most treasured doll.:)

    31. @PoeticSoul I was hoping Bohemia Rose would make an appearance! Truly stunning, and definitely delicate. I am hoping @Lady Ravenswood's will make an appearance, too!

    32. Ah Bohemia Rose! :love

Anson and Moment are the most spectacular dolls ever made, imo. I always wish I had been a little sooner to the hobby, because of them.
