Just a NKOTB saying, “Hi!”

Hello All and Happy Friday! My name is Kara and I’m excited to be here! I’m newer to the hobby and look forward to learning from you guys and seeing your awesome pics. I’ll be posting some in the near future… Just as soon as my new Myou Bettina arrives!!! ✨ She will be my first, actual, proper resin BJD and I couldn’t be more excited!
I’ve been collecting dolls for some time and started out with the first Japanese repros of a certain big-headed, big-eyed doll and took a collector hiatus until recently. I’ve acquired some hinge-type articulated vinyl dolls and so my current collection is quite a number of big-eyed girls, a couple of other vintage classics, several Smart Dolls and one adorable Dollfie Dream. So, this little 1/6th girl marks a first for me! My plan for my next will be a 1/4th cutie, but there are so many options, I haven’t been able to choose which type to go with! I’ll definitely have some questions for some of you seasoned pros! Again, so glad to be here!

 

Thank you! Good to know about her posing and thanks for pointing out to keep her out of the sun! And yes—Blythes and Pullips are definitely a gateway doll. I actually forgot I have two of the latter, as well. 1/4-wise, I’ve been looking at Luts Senior Delfs, Fairyland Minifees, as well as With Doll and Little Monica offerings. I gravitate toward the mature bodies and, oddly enough, I’m picky about knees and prefer some cute detail/realism there when standing straight. I saw a BJD modeling some clothes on TTYA’s clothing shop and fell in love with that doll, but can’t figure out what she is! What would you recommend as far as a good first 1/4 doll?
