Previous thread: /threads/recycling-dolls-doll-parts.857877/#post-13045538 So I’ve had this junk doll for a few years now, which I got from a meetup group. The person selling it was desperate to pay their rent on time so I bought it despite having never had any plans to mod a doll like this before. Few years (and my own life struggles) go by and I’m getting my dolls out of storage, it’s summer and I’m on vacation so I have the time for it now. Here’s how he looked at the start: The original owner had several pieces missing so got hold of a second junk doll in hopes to hybrid them. They tried to dye it, failed miserably, lost even more pieces. I tried to sculpt a center body part for it with FIMO and that didn’t work. Here’s what I’ve done the past week: I’m modding the body because I can, I want him to have my shape because I’m trans and it feels good to sculpt it like this. I’ve filled the eye holes because they had been hacked at with a dremel and I’m not confident enough at detail sculpting to fix that, so I’m taking a page out of Gerard Way’s book and making him eyeless. That’s it for now!
This looks like it's going to be a super interesting project. I can't wait to see the finished result!
I've seen closed-eye mods before but never an eyeless one! Interested to see how it'll look once it's all one color
I decided to change the head significantly. I didn't vibe with the original sculpt much. He's quite masculine now which will look a little odd on the body, but I plan to make him shoulder pads. I really like shoulder pads. I just realized this isn't very symmetrical... I'll have to fix that. This is my first time sculpting a face, so, oh well. Finished the sculpting on the body. It needs some sanding, I'll do that all in one go I think. And some final adjustments on the hip joints, those aren't exciting to see though. And my next challenge, the missing arm... which I've decided to sculpt. Because I can. (And because the other ones are missing elbows, and don't fit very well!)
I really like the brow ridge and nose on his face. I think you did a great job on the hip and belly too, he looks like he's nice to hug.
