Aesthetics Judge my Sofia

Feb 4, 2019

    1. Hi, please give me some feedback on Face-up, eyes, wig, clothes and blushing for my Sofia as I'd like to improve on Her as much as I can. Keep in mind that the face-up its not definitive (no airbrushed sealant) and I'm waiting to fix her before blushing the body cause She got some nasty chipped resin in her pelvis joint.

    2. Honestly I think most of her face-up looks pretty good. The only thing I would recommend is feathering out the color on her bottom lip rather than filling the whole lip in. Like, angle the color up a little closer to the center than the actual edges of the lip. Otherwise, it just kinda looks like she's giving this miserable frown in all of her pictures.
The wig looks really nice with the skin-tone. If you change the color at all, I think a really pale bleach-blond would look nice as well.
The color on her eyelids goes really nicely with the color you picked for her eyes. They look really good together.
And all of her clothes are so fun! Very pretty and fancy looking. I'm especially fond of that purple-ish under set you've got her in. Looks very nice with her eye color.

    3. From my perspective, I am seeing the opposite problem with the lips. It looks to me like the color is faded, but beyond the natural lip edge. Like when you see people put lipstick beyond the edges of the lips, to try and make them look larger. I think the lip color is good, as is the shading, but I would suggest staying within the boundaries of the lip sculpt. The bottom lip corners seem especially too wide. I think it would bring out more of her beauty if she had a bit more definition around the lip line.

I would also suggest softening the boundaries of the eye shadow. Making it gently lighter towards the inner eyes and darker towards the outer edges. The rest of the face up is so dreamy and soft, a softer blended eye would work better.

You are definitely on the right path to awesomeness!

    4. Lol that's basically what I meant, but you phrased it better. By feathering, I meant lightening the color so that it doesn't go out that far.

    5. The only thing that stuck out to me was in the first outfit, the navy blue striped stocking just didn’t seem to mesh well with the pastels in the rest of the outfit. If they were a light pink or baby blue, or if she had some accessories (maybe the ribbon around her neck, or the decoration on her head) in the same dark color it would work better. I don’t know if you can change it, but having the ribbon lacing up the front of that dress in a pale blue to match the shoes would help tie it all together too.

      Just my opinion.

    6. You are totally right. Actually the socks were supposed to be light blue striped like the underwear she wear with that dress, unfortunely I couldn't never find the darn color :sweat

    7. I dubbed this effect "clown lips" LOL and yes they could be feathered A LOT more but they are indeed actually feathered, my smartphone camera just isn't good at all when comes to subtle/clear colors and flatten everything, I ensure you the Lips look totally different in reality. thanks for the tips, I'll keep them in mind next time.

    8. I second to what @ZOMBUNN13 said about lower lip.
But otherwise pretty good. Her face up goes well wih eyes and hair. And her dresses are really fancy, with many details. They suit her perfectly.

Personally, I think she stends out more in outfits with some dark or saturated colours (or elements) than in only light pink for some reason. What about trying some darker accessories with them? But white looks good on her as it is, in my opinion.

    9. Thanks for the FB

ahahah  Her default dress its the black and white Victorian one, its her original dress tailored to her size and its my favorite. 90% of the time Sofia its wearing that dress. Over 10 years I bought her many many dresses, she even have modern ones, in summer I like to dress Her in shorts and sleeveless shirt sometimes. Recently she got a new face-up and I took some pics with my favorites one, thats the ones I posted here. The pink lolita dress its just a rather silly one Sofia wears rarely in spring/summer, it's meant to be weird and totally out of character.:wiggle

Lats year she used to wear a lot this cool maid dress but I passed it over to her sister Lori cause its perfect for Her.

BTW Keep in mind the photos aren't really true in colors, my phone camera doesn't get them right at all, for example what is her Hair color? believe or not its pink!:XD:

    10. Welcome:)welcome!

Cameras are such a bother! I also use my phone...never takes colours right. Especially reds, pinks, yellows. As long as I'm taking photo of something large, or outside during sunny day, it's somewhat OK, but more delicate, detailed things like dolls never went out well. Details always seem blury ant everything gets odd hue. So I understand your pain:hug:But I can't bring myself to buy better camera...

Light pink? I can imagine it goes very well with her eyes and all. Well, Sofia's hair seems to have pinkish tint, platinum blond with pink at the photo.

Sofia's default dress has many lovely details -- pearls and so many lacy frills. It was a good choice. Maid dress is cool too, especially the double skyrt. I love laces and frills in general. Combinations with some darker or hevier material never fail.:3nodding:

Silly, out of character dresses are fun idea:3nodding:, I'm planning making rabbit hoodie for my elf boy in forseeable future, hopefully.

I wish you best luck with blushing!

    11. LOL I actually misplaced my digital camera when I moved 3 years ago so I'm using the smartphone for now, I'll borrow my dad digital camera next time I see him :XD: The way I paint the lips its quite complex, I start with drybrushing a light color base then I add vertical strokes of, dark red, white and pink in between. After that I brush a very thinned out silver coat and finish them with a thick coat of semi-gloss clear and some gloss in the inside of the mouth. My smartphone can't really manage the complex hues and trasparencies giving out a different look then in person... :doh

The wig real color its kind of a golden pink, its really hard to capture. Sofia used to have long silver or grey hair untill I fell in love with this particular wig...

    12. Finally a pretty pic with natural light, It's a lot more close to how she looks in real life, just look at the clearly pink hair.
