Hi all... So yesterday I started my head, finally! I didn't bother drawing the profile before I started, which I can now say it was a big mistake u_u; I have rectified the mistake Here's the head View attachment 467 Here's the drawing done afterwards. I'm at work, so I'll have to fix it tonight. View attachment 468 I'm finding really hard to sculpt the lips. I spent hours dying to get it right, but when the profile looked good, the front looked like duck lips. Actually, I'm finding it really hard to avoid the duck looks look :/
I like the sketch!! I think he'll be awesome once he's finished. Which clay are you using? If you're using an airdry paperclay (as the head is white so that's what I suspect), you can work and rework the lips through all eternity!! Maybe, to lessen the ducklips look, you can focus more on reducing the sides of the lips, i.e. Reduce the volune of lip where they're not too important to maintain the line of the profile.. I don't know if what I'm trying to say makes any sense, haha.. Either way, just fiddle with your work for as long ad you have patience, you're definitely off to a good start!
