JID clothing database! (Juvenile Iplehouse Doll) Part 2

Sep 15, 2008

    1. I'm going to be taking better pics of these outfits and more that I have, but in the meantime I wanted to share this info on stuff for the JID girls. My Chaaya (Isar) has a large bust, so I can't vouch for the tops fitting the glamour bust girls, but these should look okay on the small bust girls too.

    2. Finally have something to contribute! Big thanks to everyone else who's posted, this stuff is invaluable. :aheartbea

strawberryblossom mentioned in part one that she got this dress from Alice's Collection to fit. I wanted to add that it does so by the power of elastic! That top part is all scrunchy elastic and it doesn't seem like it would but it does stretch to fit over a large bust girl.

Also fitting by the power of elastic is this dress that I took a chance and ordered.

It's very stretchy so it does technically fit but not in the same loose way as the model. The sleeves can be worn either up or off the shoulder. The elastic hem at the bottom is so tight it's pushing her legs together, so posing is limited. It might be possible to cut the elastic on the bottom so that's not an issue, or maybe trim the whole thing into a cute top instead of a dress.

    3. My input:

Somewhere in this thread (or part 1) I read that the stretch leggings from Dollmore fits....I can say now that it does not! My girl's hips are way too big for the leggings to even get anywhere near the top :(

Luckily, my other MSD can wear them so it wasn't a waste of money :sweat

    4. Where can I find heels? Would the glamour bust be too large for MNF shirts?

    5. Iplehouse sells them. However I think their heeled feet are too steep for other company's heeled shoes. You can still sort of get 'fake' heels though like these shoes: http://eluts.com/shop/step1.php?number=1241

JID is too big for most MNF tops. Glamour has no chance of fitting much, even normal MSD clothing is a bit of a tough fit.

    6. I really wish Alice's collections would say which doll is modelling the clothes so I can check their measurements..

I was hoping to grab this -> http://www.alicescollections.com/g093-p-253.html?cPath=3_28 but I have no idea whether the 1/3 size would fit >_<

I've sent them an email asking what the measurements are, hopefully they get back to me, I think my Tatiana would look lovely in it.

    7. Alice told me that her models are Volks dolls. Not that that narrows it down that much. But she does do custom sewing for a lot of their styles. Here's an e-mail I got from her last week explaining which ones:

      "Dear Sonya^^,

      Thank you for your email.

Our 1/4 size outfits are made according to Volks MSD dolls, JID dolls are not able to wear standard 1/4 size outfits, you can choose the following items which can be custom-made:

    8. Hey Sonya,

The lady got back to me an gave me the measurements, for the 1/3 size the bust is 3cm too big and so is the waist, so I'm thinking I could possibly alter it to fit. The skirt would end up being longer but I don't really think that is too much of a problem!

What I really wish for is a corset pattern of some kind so I can make bodices for dresses, skirts are simple when you know the waist size but the top bits are giving me some grief.. If anyone knows a good pattern, I'd love you forever if you directed me to it!

    9. Aaall righty, I can confirm that a few Plume Blanche items fit! Instead of being loose, they're just form-fitting but without looking like they're about to burst off the body. Stretchy fabric and elastic, hooray!

Specifically I've tried "little pink dress", "black and white top" (quite fitting), "beige sweater" and the matching skirt. The skirts end up being high-waisted (at the belly button). The stockings fit without a problem too. I may be a bit addicted to Plume Blanche, yes. :P Can provide pics if anyone's interested!

    10. Do you guys think - these shoes - would fit our boys? They are from the 6.7 cm long section.

    11. Sorry for the ridiculously long reply time on this, Kthulhu. I'm subscribed to this thread, but for some reason I didn't see a notification until Tirian posted a question today. :-/ For corsets for the JID girls you can go a couple of ways for patterns.

You could purchase the Demi Victorian Corset set from Truly Victorian http://www.demifashions.com/catalog/demipatterns.html ,reduce the pattern to 50% and then tweak it from there. The Demi measurements are 17" bust, 12" waist and 17" hips. Reducing it to 49% would actually get you closer, but 49% isn't always an option...just depends on what copying equipment is at hand for you. I've purchased, and successfully used, the human Truly Victorian patterns and I had a wonderful experience with them.

You could also look for the appropriate kind of pattern made for the Tonner 17" Deluxe female dolls (DeeAnna Denton, Lara Croft, etc) and adjust those. The measurements that I've got for the deluxe dolls was 20.5cm bust, 13.5cm waist and 21.5cm hips. If you don't want to fiddle with adding the difference in waist size to all the corset pieces, you could probably get away with adding it to just the side seams without changing the overall shape and fit too much. Tamara Casey with Designs By Jude carries a good selection of patterns in that size http://stores.ebay.com/Patterns-fro...735912016&_sid=22545116&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

      Hope that helps a bit,
      ~Sonya~

    12. I've wondered the same thing since the L size girl have a listed foot length of 6.7cm, but they don't list the width. The safest thing to do would be to ask the company what the width measurement is on the girls, or check and see if there's a database somewhere here on DOA that mentions it. There are quite a few pairs I'd like to try for my guy once I rescue him from lay-a-way. If you hear anything about it, please let us know. :-)

      Sonya

    13. Is there any chance Musedoll's dress set La Jardin Rose 2 would fit a small bust JID girl I'm planning to have? I checked the measurements and JIDs and Musedoll girls are quite the same size, except there are something about 0,3 cm - 2 cm and other small differences between body measurement's of them (okay, height is an exception). Is it a big risk to order that someday after my JID comes home? The set isn't so cheap, so I'm asking your opinion.

    14. Short answer: Maybe.

      Rambling answer:

If they'd shown the back of the dress it would be easier to answer that question. The biggest things working against it fitting would be the 3cm bust size difference...so it would be really loose on a small bust JID doll...and the .5cm waist difference. Since the JID waist is larger and the bodice appears to be pretty snug; you might not be able to close it all the way, at the waist, on your future JID. But, with the MuseDoll being taller, the difference in back length (the space between the nape of the neck and waist) *might* work out in such a way that the actual waist on the dress sits lower on the JID than intended, so it could eliminate the problem of the thicker JID waist.

      It would be a gamble.

    15. Ah that set is gooorgeous. Definitely not cheap though... I'd be very interested if any of the Musedoll clothing fits JID, they have some amazing outfits. Not that I own a JID... yet... :)

    16. This is small bust JID wearing a BlueFairy Tiny Fairy default uniform (3rd edition). She CANNOT wear the panties. The outfit is also really short on her. The shoes are also loose but not noticeable when wearing the boots.

      From left to right:
Sport boots for Peter Pevensie/Athletic/Superhero bodies from Facets By Marcia

      65mm x 25mm Monique Gold "Emo" shoes.

Boots from 19" Tonner Lucious Malfoy "Death Eater" outfit.

All three can easily be worn with or without socks, but I honestly prefer having the dolls wear socks because it makes it easier to take the shoes off. without putting any stress on the "S" hook or attachment point on the foot.

I'm planning to pick up a pair of the blue and black "Emo" shoes and a pair of the sports boots in brown. And I'll eventually be trying the riding boots that Marcia offers as well as some of the shoes that would go nicely with some of the historical stuff I have in mind.

It really is nice to have choices for a change when it comes to shoes for these guys. Now, if I could find him a pair of wingtip dress shoes; I'd be a super happy camper. [IMG]

      Hugs,
      ~Sonya~

    18. Hi!
Do you think this shoes would fit JID girls (hh)?
I know they fit MNf hh, but will they fit JID too?

    19. It just depends. I've got some American Model shoes that fit my JID girl's heeled feet just fine. And then I've had some that are really long. Alot would depend on how far much of the toes are covered by the shoe upper and how long the shoe is.

I bought some AM shoes from Facets by Marcia recently and I'm going to try to take pictures of Chaaya in them this weekend. I also bought a pair of 64mm Cissy shoes (Sitting Pretty embroidered Pumps) from the same store and they fit pretty well. http://facetsbymarcia.com/shoes2.htm#Cissy

      Hth,
      ~Sonya~

    20. Does anyone know if either Doll-zone or Angell-Studio fit the JID girls? Found some really cute clothes for Tir that I'm contemplating from both companies... XD;;

    21. For anyone curious, Rosen Lied Wednesday's Child clothing does not fit JIDs. Well, at least the dress I bought my small bust girl didn't fit. Her torso was too large for the zip to do up. Wonderful quality but, unfortunately, a complete failure on the fit.

    22. I've read through both threads and there is helpful information for boys! Sadly, the majority of it is for girls. :<
I would really appreciate if anyone has more information on clothes for boys.
      Thank you! <3

    23. Rooren, I haven't looked for boys, but I found out that the Hermione/Nancy Drew things fit the girls so maybe the Tonner Harry Potter/Hardy Boys things will fit the boys. Though I don't know how you can check that out. Hope it will help some. :)

    24. I bought these http://dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=10147 stockings for a slimmer Mini doll I own. Out of curiosity sake and certain myths about DM panty stockings don't fit JIDs. I tried them on my JIDs and they do indeed fit. Actually they fit better on the JIDs then on my slim mini doll O.o. I can't guarantee tho if the other panty stockings fit. I (or anyone else) will let you guys know in the future if they do.

    25. I saw these Tonner jeans listed on page 4, but I just got them yesterday and they don't fit my girl. :( It's a struggle to get them over her hips, and though they go all the way up, closing them isn't possible. I tried, and it popped open a second later.

(Can't find my camera, so I have no pic right now, but I'll update when I can.)

    26. Hi, Diloolie. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with the Colvins. When I saw your post and checked to see if it was Chaaya on page 4; I went upstairs to try both pairs of Colvins on her to see if I had any difficulty and I was able to snap them with no gap showing.... I have the dark blue pair and a pair of the tan khakis. The JID girl waist is smaller than the male Tonner waist, so there's even room in mine that allows me to tuck a shirt in and still close them. I've had mine quite a while though and they get *lots* of use by my girl, my Tonner guys and my JAMIEshow male as well, so it may just be that they've stretched a little with use, or the ones you have may have been sewn smaller. I even tried on my Tonner made pants and all of them snapped fine and in some cases they zipped and snapped. Some are easier than others and some (like the tan Tonner pants on that page) have a slimmer fit, but all of them worked. She can't sit in them without popping the snaps open, but then neither can my guys. Maybe if you play with them a bit, they'll work easier for you?

    27. Does anyone now in general if the style9nine pants and tees fit JID boys? Also what about TTYA brand pants? Thanks!

    28. Some Dollmore items that do and don't fit.

      Rabbit Broach

Mash Marigold Sandals - too long :( see photo in post below.

Line 7 Leggings okay. They are a bit short in the waist and look like low rise in the front. The back not so great. But okay if covered. Also the ankle socks are from Dollmore and called 'Tot' socks. Fit fine, but are not the fitted style socks, basic MSD.

    29. Just wanna ask, which of the IH clothes (from the website) fit a JiD Glamour Bust?

I'm eyeing http://www.iplehouse.net/shop/step1.php?number=1981 this blooming girl one-piece but IH says it's difficult for the glamour.

I've read that the cat suit was advised by IH that it's also hard to wear on a glamour bust, but a friend told me otherwise (it fits okay)

So I'm not really sure if I should trust IH's judgement when it comes to which fits what. LoL

      thanks for the help :)

    30. I used to own the black cat set a couple years ago when I had a large bust JID girl. If I remember correctly the material back then had a little bit of give to it. It *may* work for a glamour bust but I am thinking that the bottom of the shirt will lift a little higher than what's shown to accomodate the larger breasts.

I used to have the midnight one piece black and white dress- not sure when that sold out- and it fit my glamour bust girl just fine.

The only things I have left from IH for my gb Asa are the synthetic leather jacket set, the grizzle knit set, the tank tops, the brown leather jacket and black tank shown under it.

Winter bell, bohemian girl, red knit ops and the sweatshirts should fit gb girls fine because they are loose or have stretch material that gives. I am hesitant to go after some of the tighter fitting items unless Iplehouse has commented and said it works for glamour busts. I'd have to ask them first before I bought the pocket jumper suit.

My Asa tends to steal my JID guy button down shirts and wear them, along with his dark blue cardigan.

    31. You're such an angel Kadepie! Thanks for all the info! I'm planning to buy a JID Asa soon and I'm really looking forward to getting her with the glamour bust, I'm just a bit hesitant to check out because of the limited clothing options. Most posts here are either for small or large busted dolls.

Anyway, I'll take my chances with the blooming one-girl piece. If I fail, expect a post in the marketplace. Lol

    32. I am still experimenting with clothes from other places like nine9style and etsy. The mink ball sweater sets at nine9style will fit a gb girl but the sleeves end up being a little bit short on them.

      These items I have that fit;
      http://www.nine9style.net/shop/step1.php?number=4470

This dress fits because it has a stretchy section at the top but the vest does not close and the dress is a little bit shorter than it would be on a MNF.
      http://www.nine9style.net/shop/step1.php?number=4458

      These shirts fit her just fine;
      http://www.nine9style.net/shop/step1.php?number=1562

She can wear this but the sleeves are just a bit shorter than they should be.
      http://www.nine9style.net/shop/step1.php?number=1559

I also have a long sleeved turtleneck and the pola one piece from nine9style that fit. Some items will require head removal to get on though.

    33. Are there any other companies, than IH, that make pants that fit JID boys? I am looking for some better clothes than the ones I have sewn. I have a JID Boris on the Muscle Body.

    34. Thanks for sharing that information - I've placed an order for the hoodie.

    35. Iplehouse Colin I am planning to buy in the next few months . But the clothes at Iplehouse are little high and there larger than a normal Msd at 46 cm and his pants are like one inch smaller 27.5 when other are 26.5 I love their clothes but is there a cheaper place I can get pants and shirts at ? or will normal MSD clothes fit him?

    36. There's information on some clothes and link to other threads about clothes that fit JIDs right [HERE]. Hope this helps!:)

    37. I don't see anything on JID boys it all on girls ! Anyone else knows about size or would it be custom?

    38. JID boys have an SD sized Chest. As far as pants, it's pretty much custom if you don't want something from IH.

    39. I know that wizgerg had success using the Tonner Superhero body clothes on her JID guy. Pic here;

      http://www.flickr.com/photos/56118583@N03/8685094377/

I think she also said she managed to squeeze him into some nine9style shirts. Check out her pics of her JID Ryan.

    40. Thank you for that tip! I was wondering about the superhero size. That's great news:)

I read half the first trend, and all of this one, and didn't found this so: If BFC inc doll's clothes fit JIDs, then Liberty Jane makes patterns to BFC inc. http://www.libertyjanepatterns.com/category/all-patterns/bfc-ink-patterns.
They're very nice and have some free patterns too.
      I don't know, how I didn't remember this sooner.

    41. So where is the clothes from ? They are really nice shirt and the one on looks really nice.

    42. I don't know. I would try searching ebay or the internet for stores that carry Tonner doll clothes. I don't have any experience with Tonner as a company so I'm not familiar with their retailers.

    43. skylar, that particular outfit is a custom made outfit by "Chewin", made for my Tonner Superhero guys. (I'm wizgerg3 on Flickr). The outfit fits him as well as if it were made for him. I've had very good luck with my Ryan borrowing all my Tonner Superhero outfits. As far as Nine9 Style goes..................it's very hit or miss. I was able to squeeze him into one shirt, but the other one I ordered was way too small.

    44. Thanks for the link Aliera! They have some really nice patterns.

    45. Also the Karito Kids, have around the same Chest measurements as the JID guys, so their shirts can easily be made for them :) with just a little tweek on the waist.

    46. Thank you for that . I just looking around to see what fits and what I have to do have it fit . I never had doll that had a hard time with clothes with before and he going to be one of them I can see that now .

    47. For those of you with JID girls, I discovered while going through a lot of my old clothing leftover from previous fashion dolls that have moved on, that MA Cissy clothing seems to fit well. This outfit is actually new, I got it from an ebay seamstress, but it's made for Cissy. The boy shorts are a little loose at the bottom of the leg, but other than that it fits her well. She has the glamour bust.

    48. Thanks for the tip, Jackie! Was this made for the 18" Cissy?

    49. Is there another size? I don't know that much about Cissy, but I used to have the modern Cissy, and the lingerie seller on ebay advertised for vintage or modern Cissy. Hope that helps?

    50. Lol. We're in the same boat. I don't know much about MA dolls at all, but I was looking around after I saw your post and found 17" ones and 21" ones. I haven't found measurements but 17" makes sense. Thanks again. :-)

    51. I had just learned about the size of Cissy. It is good to know about the bottom/leg circumfrence size.
Your girl looks wonderful on that lingerie. Who was the seamstress?

    52. After reading this thread, I did some research about Cissy. Apparently the main size is 21" but there is an alternate, 18" size as well. I bought a dress on eBay that was made for 18" Cissy, and I'm going to try it on my Glamour Bust JID when it comes in. Hopefully it fits well!

    53. Awesome! Please keep us posted. Which seller did you purchase the dress from?

    54. I bought it from the seller HappyDaisyDeeDolls. There are some gorgeous dresses on sale here, so if the one I got fits my JID glamour bust, I'll definitely be looking into the other 18" Cissy dresses she has on sale!

    55. I hope it fits! Just went to see and her dresses are gorgeous!
