Hi I was just wondering if ordering from Doll's Singing Ebay shop is nolonger possible for Aussies? It basically says Shipping: Not Available to Australia. on the purchase tab. But obviously according to the reviews thread people from Australia had bought from this buyer before. Im just wondering if it is still possible and if it is, how?! I hope this is the right place to put this thread.
It doesn't hurt to contact them and ask. I do know regular Australian customers who have ordered with them before the change can still order from them. They used to be available for all Australian customers but due to problems with our customs and postal service they've had to list Australia as one of the countries they won't post to now. It doesn't surprise me really. I've had (and still continually have) numourous problems with Australia Post. I've never had to deal with customs though so I'm not sure what the problem there is.
there are only issues with customs on orders over $1000 coming into australia, you then need to go to a customs agent to have it cleared, i do this at times when we import at work. i've never had problems with things coming in from overseas via the ordinary post, except for being slow at times and that seemed to be a problem with the country it was coming from. I don't think australia post is, on the whole, worse than anywhere else, and i am surprised it would be a deal breaker for an ebay seller to send here.
They did tell me when I asked our customs people were difficult to deal with. Austrlaia Post is I grudingly admit probably better than some countries but if they don't scan your parcel into their system, don't expect them to be too helpful. I had a doll left on my doorstep in plain view of the street that was tracked, insured and was supposed to be signed for but because no one bothered to scan the tracking number into the system when it came here (I could track it on the website when it left its destination), I was just told that it wasn't their problem. I've got at least six complaints to date with them about parcels being left here when they shouldn't have been and in plain view of the street.
i think it's just luck of the draw on how good your local post office is and how concientious the delivery guy. I've been pretty lucky with mine, he never leaves anything that needs signing for and any parcel he does leave is put well out of sight. i wonder what difficulties they could have had with customs. i didn't think the sender dealt with them at all.
You think that's bad? Our delivery guy sometimes leaves parcels on top of our mail box. Our mail box being next to the road. The packages could clearly fit in the mailbox too.. Wow, I got offtopic. Anyway, I guess it's a recent thing that they decided not to ship to Aussieland. Since I've ordered from them before. I'm rather shocked they decided not to ship here. I didn't think the customs was that bad..
im the same.. Ive not ordered from them before, but I wished to do so and was terribly confused seeing that they wrote that they ship wordwide. But Australia is somehow excluded I must admit. I have had a postman call me directly on the intercom to say he is leaving my stuff outside the security door (I live in a multi story apartment) Was terribly unsatisfied, even though I ran down so quick, clad in a nightie to get it.
Kez, Maybe lost items or insurance claims would have to deal with Customs?? I'm not sure but I was a bit disappointed when I saw they no longer shipped here too but as I often order from them, they said it was fine for me to continue to do so. From memory, they stopped shipping to Australia around November last year as that was when I put in an order for my Dikadoll head and had to ask them about the whole not shipping to Australia thing. If you're really wanting to order something from them, I do encourage you to contact them Estrial and see what they say. My dealings with them have always been quite good and they've always been quite friendly and prompt with their communications. The worst they can say is no in which case you'll have to find another supplier for what you want. Raen, I had that happen with one of my parcels too. I don't know what's going on with AusPost lately. They also raised all their prices 5% or something like that recently on all international and national post.
i was wondering if there was a local agent appointed for the dolls and they weren't supposed to sell on their territory?
