Issues with Auria/shortie/jem/Aki

Jan 13, 2006

    1. I'd sell my kids's bodies off before I had to ask and even then, I'd sell all I could before then! I would have to be totally needing the cash but I got 3 bodies so I would likely have enough if I had to put up front 1500 dollars for the dog. But still, I would sell all I could before I asked for cash.

    2. Oh man. She was one of the people that wanted to buy my Juri head off me. She said her sister really wanted a doll and she wanted to help her out. She said that she'd make a bunch of clothes for my doll in trade for some of the cost, and that her sister would pay for the rest. She said she couldn't afford it because of her dog. I ended up selling Leeloo Juri instead, and I'm glad I did. I got more money out of it anyway. I felt so bad having to tell her no, but I suppose it was best in the long run.

    3. Thanks sakura_yuna& belladurmiente87.
My dog is ok, and we get by. All the meds we try, just dont seem to work =/ That we can tell anyways. He still seizures all the time. But he will always come first. The whole thing just really made me sick from the start. Every post was her either asking for money, or asking for a cheaper deal on things because of her dog. If you are a bad way like that, dolls should be the last thing on your mind. I only buy my dolls with my extra money. =/

    4. i know people make bad decisions, but i find this one to be worse than that. at least her dog is finally having the surgery she needs.

    5. Sorry, but I need to say something...

We all agree she made some miserable decisions, but is it necessary to continue this thread?

It's one thing to let everyone know when people are actively and continuously scamming either in the marketplace or ebay or yahoo auctions, but does it really reflect well on us when we flagellate someone for making a choice we wouldn't have made?

She hasn't cheated anyone out of money, even if she did play the sympathy card. And truly, the thing about charity is you never really know where the money goes. If people here donated, they did so out of concern and a willingness to help. They shouldn't feel badly about it.

Did every single cent go the Henna? I have no flippin' clue. I don't know this woman, I don't know her dog. I don't know what she did with the money. But that's true of any money you donate. I hate to break it to you all, but even with established charities, after expenses (facility, administration, fundraising, et al) sometimes as little as $0.20 per dollar makes it to the needy party. It's the chance you take when you donate to anyone besides the Red Cross.

I think it's a good thing that people PM'ed her and the mods with their concerns, but 4 pages of scathing judgement and I-would-never-do-thats really don't add anything to the situation.

    6. thanks! I was just about to PM a mod. I mean..wow this is vicious and getting way OT. I mean, people are calling her vet!! Even if she did scam or whatever, I think she won't do it again and we should let it go. Please!!!

    7. mod kill it please! we've had our fun with this thread and it's time to close up shop on this one.

    8. Had our fun? Close up shop?

This has toyed with emotions, potentially ruined a woman's reputation and upset dozens of people. If you call this fun then you're just as sick as the person who possibly scammed and that's for everyone who jumped in in the name of drama. Those of us who posted this showed general concern. I think your comment was completely uncalled for.

    9. I want to say thank you to everyone who contributed to the How_Not_to_Beg LJ post. Thanks to everyone from 7th Hell, and everyone who emailed to give information and help explain their point of view. It started with a few people complaining about their suspicions, but soon, many people were pooling information in an effort to find the truth and protect the BJD community if this turned out to be a fraud.

I've written back to Enginoshouzoku. I don't want to repost the entire long reply here. Some of it was remedial ABJD information, like explaining how frequently DoA posters come across ripoffs, and why we're all so vigilant about scams.

Essentially what I told her is that I still find the whole thing a little off-kilter, and I still have some doubts. But it could all be due to blundering on Auria's part, not deliberate efforts to defraud. I guess I can believe that Auria miscalculated very badly in just about every decision she made about her finances for the past couple of months and got herself into a bad situation, and that she didn't intend to scam anyone.

I hope that it has all been a massive misunderstanding, and I hope that Henna will be okay.

    10. People got used, completely taken advantage of, and lied to.
      This response is understandable.

I think it would be unfair to lock it just because people are getting 'mean'. More like upset. We certainly cannot be happy and nice and understanding ALL the time, and this is a disgusting and pathetic situation. YES, I said it. Resin doesn't come before a living creature. People have every single last right to be upset about this, as long as no one's threatening her harm or calling her undeserved names (key being undeserved) then why lock it? So it's hidden and forgotten and pushed to the far reaches?
Let people get thier frustration out instead of sweeping it under the rug right off.

    11. Uh...people are calling her vet!!! those are people she knows personally in everyday life not associated with this forum..THAT IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    12. This thread is now being locked. :daisy

    13. Update on this former member -

Princess Auria created another username "shortie". Having multiple usernames, especially to escape negative feedback, is a bannable offense. So when the moderation team found out, we banned both accounts.

She has re-registered repeatedly, and each time we've caught her and banned her new account.

She has had the following usernames:
princess auria, shortie, resin_lovin, *jem* and Aki

If you have recently heard stories of Aki being banned unfairly for spamming advertisements, those stories are incorrect. "Aki" was banned because she had been banned previously under other names, many times.
