Island Doll Tinies

Sep 23, 2009

1. I agree - Featherfall is really awesome. The Cookie doll is totally cute. I'm going to order a couple of Resinsouls from them for Christmas, I think.

2. Yes Feathjerfall is awesome and MY LITTLE ONE COMES IN TODAY!... I guess I am the only one who got one... man that's so weird

3. I can't help but wonder why all the photos of this doll show her with such yellow skin? I'm all for the concept of environmentally-friendly resin, but if it's yellow, it will be a hard sell to the BJD community, I think.

4. I recall seeing one for sale in the marketplace a few days ago.

5. They look adorable. I would like Cookie's face for a boy doll, though...

6. I will post pictures of her with my Yosd. She is slightly yellow but it's not that bad, imho. The lighting in my apartment is rather in the yellow tones which didn't help. We have rather overcast and rainy conditions and I am waiting for clear weather to take more pictures.

I think the pictures on the website are pictures of the prototypes. which is a lot of times the case even with more known companies.

7. they did a boy doll and I am pretty sure the head mold is the same as Cookie.

8. I ordered Cookie from Featherfall, too, at the beginning of September, but she hasn't even shipped yet. :( I thought maybe it was the company, but if you've gotten yours now, I think I'll go ahead and send an email!

9. I was in a hurry because I was taking care of my mother's post-operation (which got cancelled so I hurried up for nothig >.< ) They didn't receive Island doll boxes but they asked me if I wanted to have mine with the box or not. I didn't really care about the box, so they sent me the doll. Yours is probably about to ship. :) But do e-mail them and be sure to add your order number so they can find your order fast.

10. They had already replied back when I got up this morning. Apparently they do have her, but the dollzone outfit I ordered with her is the thing that's holding up the shipment. >_< I thought it had come back in stock, but apparently I misread. So a couple more weeks and I'll be able to share pics as well. :)

11. aaaah darn I wish the time flies fast so you can have your little one soon :)

12. They look different to me... heh, I'll just wait till there are more owner pics, I guess.

13. I'm looking at http://www.islanddoll.com/ (I found the address from images on Featherfall) at the moment and wondering why it's covered with images from Dream of Doll. :\ While I do think Cookie is really pretty, I can't help but feel suspicious about the company...

14. This is my Island doll Cookie, her name is Trinket. She's here with my little girls Angelina Ballerina mice, their clothes fir her perfectly. I can't say anything bad about this doll, I love every inch of her and her skin feels so super smooth and wonderful to touch. All the Ann Estelle patterns fit her too, so anyone who likes to sew has lots to choose from! I can't wait to get her brother too :D

15. She's really cute!

16. Oh wow, she's beautiful! I love the wig and eye change. The pupil-less ones always look creepy to me.
What size wig is that, Kissyfacegirl? I'm hoping to give her pink one to one of my other ones.

Still haven't gotten a ship notice for mine. They told me it would be a couple more weeks at the end of last month, but I guess that dang dollzone outfit's really holding things up. I'm contemplating getting their MSD before the promo is up, but I'd like to see the quality of Cookie first. *sigh*

17. I know how you feel Zallia, I haven't received a shipping notice either, and I just got the standard doll... She really is a gorgeous doll. I've been going insane for the past 2 months!

18. What size shoes fit this doll? Yo-SD sizes seem too big for the measurements they listed, I was thinking about getting shoes from pullip dolls but I'm afraid they'd be too small.

19. Well the wig she is wearing is Monique Gold Wig Pretty Girl 6/7, it fits perfectly.

The shoes I am using I bought off this page here: http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/dept?dpt=H&srch=DW&tier2=6

I originally bought them for my Moona's but out of curiosity I tried them on "Cookie" and they work fine too. Theres a little room at the end so she can wear socks or tights.

20. They are too cute thank you! ^^

21. Hi, this is Grace from Jpopdolls.net, we have Cookie instock and yes she is about Yosd size. She can wear Yo clothing and shoes, she also takes yo wigs size 6-7. She is very similar. The resin is not yellow but normal cream color, not pinky or bluish. In fact I was very surprised at the resin quality, it is first class.

22. Oh my goodness, I recently adopted Suuchan's Cookie and she is absolutely wonderful!! I have never felt this way about a doll: she poses great, has a beautiful face up and her size/weight in your hands just feels right. I will try to post pics this weekend. Miss Grace is correct, her resin is first class and environmental to boot which you can't beat.

23. My Cookie's finally arrived! Cookie seems so light-hearted for such a serious face, though. I am SUPER impressed with her posing. I think she's the best I've got, though one of her upper arms seems stuck. It is nice, sturdy resin. I think I'm definately going to get Amy now. I'm not too keen on Bobo(?), so I hope they release some new 1/6s down the line too!

She was missing her default eyes, so I had to email FF once again. :doh I did take a couple quick pics to share! Still not sure which wig and eyes are right for her yet...this was the only pair of 16mm I could find quickly. That size seems to suit her better than the 14mm in my opinion.

24. she is REALLY cute!! It's nice to see pics of her other than the website. Now i want one....

25. Ohh, Zallia - your Cookie is so pretty, what did you name yours? Mine is named Ever. You're right about the 14mm being too small, the 16mm is just perfect. Maybe one day you can come up and our Cookies can play together?

26. She is soooooooo cute!!
Simply sweeeet ^^

27. This is my girl, Ever: [IMG]

Please excuse the fuzzy pic, my digicam needed to be recharged at the time.

28. Hello!
I was going to get a Luts-Honey, but when I found the Island Dolls and Bobo especially...I was hooked! I hope to order him in the next month or so. He has such a little boy's face. I just want to grab him and hug him. *sighs* Can't wait.
I have a name for him already, Owen. He is 8 years old and just a regular little guy.

29. Greetings! Has ordered to itself Emily. It yet have not sent. Very much I wait.

30. Has anyone gotten Artemis yet?

31. I have an Artemis fullset coming. :)
A Very good friend got her for a present (I was so surprised and happy!) for me but I have to wait until Memorial day before I can see her.
Its major dolly excitement knowing she is coming to me soon!

32. Lucky you! I ordered a full set through the Doll Peddlar abt 3 wks ago but don't know how long til she comes in.

33. Just an update. I ordered Bobo (his name is Owen) and hopefully by the end of May he'll be living with me. At the moment I have a wonderful box to hold him and his belongings. Yes, I've bought him toys already! The box looks like a large book.

34. I have the basic Artemis on the way, too. :) I´m too curious to see her, these dolls look cute, too.

35. There so cute!!! I fall in love with Apollo and Cassandra! Maybe I order one.

I´m still waiting for your pics!

36. Has anyone gotten theirs yet????

37. My girl will be arriving this weekend! Im so excited to see her finally after the long wait! :)

38. I'm in love with Cassandra! It's kinda freaky how we share the same name (mine is spelled with a K though) and taste in fantasy clothing. XD I'm really into dryad/woodland spirit looks, so her sporting a feathery skirt and a green/brown ensemble is tempting me to go get her!

39. Congratulations! How is her resin and her posing?

40. Oh, congrats! Isa is a pretty name and fits her well, and she looks very cute!

41. Thanks! She is really wonderful. I have nothing honestly bad to say about her.

Her Resin is very heavy and smooth. I actually got her to pose on one leg but didnt have the camera available (of course). I do have a cute pic of her hanging from a tree. Her knees and arms are double jointed and have a nice firmness to each position they get put into. Her Headcap is held on by a very strong magnet

@Milly77 I have pics of the inside of her head in my box opening thread now.

42. @PsychaDurmont Congrats on your new tiny! She's a cutie!!! :D I'm in love with her fullset outfit.

43. Isa is beautiful! I've been debating back and forth for months about getting an Artemis. Thank you so much for posting real life pictures of her and for the review

44. PsychaDurmont, I really like her with blue eyes.

45. Congrats Milly77 on your arrival! She looks adorable.
I love how you captured her moves and poses. :D

46. I thought about ordering a Island doll body, but I'm really confused about their skin options. I have this french seller's site (http://winddoll.creezvotreboutique....=1205&osCsid=12d6c69a52867fc9aa48e43f1d01f08f) and it says that you can order either "Island resin" in 7 different colors or "Resin Japonaise" in 3 colors. Is Resin Japonaise = French resin? Which one do you think is better, Island resin or resin Japonaise?
(I want to order a body in white skin)

47. babyelf On featherfall's site is a great pic of the different resins.

ISLANDDOLL

I hope this helps :)

Personally, I find the Island doll resin to be nice and heavy and smooth. I dont know about this other "resin Japonaise" but it almost sound like to me that they are just saying that it is made out of Japanese resin and that there are 7 standard colors from resinsoul. But that's just my guess.

48. Oh, I just found the answer to my resin question. Villemo Art, a polish BJD shop, has a very good description on their site. Maybe it is of interest to someone else.

- ENVIRONMENTAL resin - it is a type of resin which gives you a feeling of a delicate, transparent skin. It looks a little like "french resin", but it is more UV ray resistant then french.
As environmental is more universal resin, you may choose between 7 colors: snow white, milky white, normal, island, pink, neutral beige and tan.
- STANDARD resin - it is type of resin which is solid and not transculent. Standard resin as most of bjd dolls.
You may choose between 3 colors: white, normal, pink.

Obviously Resin Japonaise is just common standard resin :doh.

49. Thanks, I was always thinking about the difference. :)

50. Is your girl standard or environmental resin?

51. She is environmental resin, milk white colour. The resin looks indeed a bit transparent/translucent, but not in the way you could see through it. ;)

52. PsychaDurmont, I thought the bow&arrow are not included, I noticed everywhere it says "not available for purchase"...did they just include it for free?

I really want an Artemis♥

53. She was purchased from Featherfall as a fullset. She came with full outfit, wig, free random eyes and bow and arrows.

Thats funny about the bow and arrows. I just noticed when looking back at the featherfall site that it states they are not included for separate sale. I think maybe it was just the LE fullsets that came with them. You can still on featherfall, purchase every other part of the outfit and even the wig for a short time.

However, the bow and arrows shouldnt be too hard to make if you're crafty. the arrow tips and feathers are just felt glued onto small straight wires. The bow is also felt over plastic and twine for the bow string. I hope this helps.

54. Lol, I'm not too crafty, but I think I could try that, I didn't even notice the part that the arrow tip and feathers were felt XD
I love her outfit though, I would definitely only get her with everything in the fullset photos (even w/o bow&arrow)!

55. I'm surprised nobody has updated the news thread about these two cuties! They have a new boy and girl tiny! One is named Finley (Gonna mod him to be a girl), and the other is Sophia. They have two other new dolls as well in the SD category. But, well this IS the tiny thread. So, anybody going to be ordering the new cuties?

56. Hi everyone!

Someone pointed me to this Tiny thread. I've bought my first BJD about a month and a half ago and she's an IslandDoll Cookie. I'm looking to buy her a nice pair of jeans (not to boy-ish and preferably with a wide leg) to go with the Converse sneakers I ordered for her (really cool ones with Jack Skellington on them).

Any tips on where to look for YO SD jeans?

Thanks!
