IS there a formula for reducing a sewing pattern?

Ok Thanks to someone here I now know how to increase any pattern-- Divide what you want by what have.
But is there one for reducing?

The same formula works both ways :-).

So if you have a 22" doll pattern, and you want it for 16" dolls, divide want by have, or 16/22 = .727272... or resize to about 73%.
