Customs Is my item being charged Customs fees? [Sweden]

      Hi there!
      My first doll is in my country, and I'm hoping to receive him in the morning (it's 1AM here).
      But this is the status of my EMS tracking:

      Is it being charged fees??? Is it gonna stay for a while in customs!?
      I hope not! Anyone else ordered from CHINA before, with EMS?

      This is how one other item looked, that I ordered from a different company (not a doll) one month ago:

      It didn't even say anything about being handed over to customs! >_<!!!

    2. Everything imported has to go through customs. It is normal. However, I do not know if you'll have to pay customs.

    3. Yep, I know. But I really hope he's not staying in customs....

      I saw somewhere that in the tracking it has to say "released with charges" if it got charged anything in customs. I wonder if that's gonna be the case here too? >.<

    4. Possible. I am not sure if Sweden charges for toys. The USA does not. Hopefully another will know. If so, I hope it will not be a lot!

    5. Damn he got stuck in the customs. The guy I talked to over the phone guessed that they had not written anything on the package about it's worth. I wonder.
      So I sent them my paypal receipt. I hope it'll all be alright...
      Damn I wanted him today :( Now he'll probably get here on Monday.... :(

    6. Oh no, what happens if the value on the package is different from my paypal? I think Angell-Studio lowered it quite a lot........
      Actually I also sent a part-payment to the customs, which is lower than the actual $600 value of the doll. But still - It won't become the right amount! Damn, what'll happen!?

    7. Most items are held in customs for 24-48 hours before being released. It is completely normal and nothing to worry about unless it is there for more than a few days.

      However, if you have called them and told them what it is worth, well, that probably increases the likelihood you will be charged and the item held. When AS sent me my two boys in December, they were marked at less than $100 each. So seeing that kind of discrepancy, if you did send them the info, is going to raise some red flags.:(

      At this point, the best thing to do is be patient and hope they are released in a day or two.

      I sent them that it was worth $60. So I lied too. But I did that because I, exactly, guessed that they had marked it very low, and if I guess on something that is very close to what they wrote, maybe they'll let it slide.
      If they distrust me, I'll just "suddenly realize" that I had "sent the wrong transaction" and send them the real one the next time.

      And, I didn't really choose myself to tell them what it was worth - I saw on the EMS tracking site that it was being held in customs, called the customs and they told me they have sent me a request on a receipt. I asked them for their email so I could sent it at once, and here I am. I'll be receiving that letter-request today, so then I'll be able to read the reason why it's being held - if they are suspicious or if it just doesn't say anything at all on the declaration..... I really hope that it doesn't say anything at all, because that'll be easier. Argh! I want my doll now! It's my first doll! >_<!! Is it gonna be this much trouble each time!?

    9. My clothes I ordered should have been here wednesday but it's still in customs since the 19th. And in there is the dress I was planning on wearing at my friend's wedding. I'm not worried about getting charged really, it's ok.
      But the fact that it got held so long, I don't think even the holiday yesterday can justify them being so slow... I know I had to work all day in spite of the holiday. All hail Coop!

      But yea... They're slow.
